Caught in the rain
Severus and Lily were walking around the streets of London hand in hand. They’d just gotten here to shop for some clothes.
Severus hated shopping, and he didn’t see the point in spending hours sifting through outfits he’d never purchase. Anything for his Lily though.
They entered what felt like the four hundredth store, browsing aisle by aisle as Lily spewed off random things about each thing she picked up.
Severus was just happy to be spending time with her. “Try this on, you'd look hot,” Lily commented, like it was totally normal to say.
Severus always got a bit of whiplash when Lily made comments like that. Like someone could ever actually find him attractive. He didn’t think so.
But nonetheless he went and tried on the black collared silk button up she’d handed him. When he came out of the dressing room, she whistled, “damn look at you Sev! That’s hot, you’re buying that.”
He gave her a skeptical look, to which she gave him the finger. “Buying it,” she said in a finished tone. He just sighed, taking the shirt off and putting his back on.
“Fine but that’s it,” he grumbled, taking it up to the counter and buying the shirt. He wasn’t as well off with money as Lily, but this was a cheaper store so he could afford the one shirt.
She shopped for a few more minutes, coming up to the counter with a pile of new shirts, dresses, and pants. Severus sighed as she handed him bag after bag.

“All I’m saying, Lils, is that you may have a spending problem,” Severus chuckled as he readjusted the bags on his arms for the seventh time.
They were making a pretty decent walk home, and Severus had to admit his arms were getting pretty tired. He wouldn’t admit it out loud though, of course.
“Well whatever, at least I was smart and brought a bag carrier along,” she teased, making Severus shake his head, “you wound me Lillian, truly.”
“Don’t call me that you ass,” she laughed, huffing in tiredness, “Who thought it was a good idea to walk?”
“I believe that was out of both of our controls considering we had no other way here,” Severus replied, sighing when he felt a raindrop.
“Oh great it’s about to-“ he stopped suddenly when it started to rain pretty hard out of nowhere. Lily squealed, trying to cover her head with a bag.
Severus laughed, holding the bag down so she would get rained on. She shoved him, swatting at his arm, “what an arse!” She chuckled, stopping her walk to look up at him.
“You know.. I’ve always wanted to have one of those cheesy romantic kiss in the rain moments,” Lily said all of a sudden, making Severus shoot her a weird look.
He didn’t get it, and Lily rolled her eyes because well, of course he didn’t get it. She held his shoulders to turn him to her, and leaned up to kiss him gently.
He was stunned for a moment, but quickly recovered, setting the bags down to pull her closer. Dipping her a little as he kissed her.
When they pulled apart they rested their foreheads together, panting slightly, “Well that lived up to expectations,” Lily winked, taking a step back.
“Well that’s.. good,” Severus replied, shaking his head as Lily demanded he pick back up the bags and keep walking.
“Alright alright, I’m coming,” he muttered, grabbing the pile of bags, “I’m never going shopping with you again.”
“Yeah right, like you could say no to me,” She smirked, blowing him a kiss.
“I could if I really tried,” he grumbled out, walking faster to catch up with her. Maybe he didn’t mind shopping after all.
