She kissed him, then stabbed him. Regretfully but with conviction.
Padma liked Harry. Might have loved him, eventually. But the whispers were unrelenting.
“They’re gonna crown him king. You gotta do something.”
Initially, Padma resisted.
“This power will make him a tyrant.”
Eventually convinced, she picked up the knife. It really was the soundest course of action.
Only when his ghost drifted from his body did Harry realize the truth. Ron’s betrayal hurt more than the physical wounds.
Officially, the papers reported a stabbing but what really killed Harry Potter was the poison dripping from his best friend’s jealous mouth.
