3) Pumpkin Carving
"Jim, I do not see the logic in doing this." Spock said, as he walked with Jim and Bones.
"Hush, you said you were interested in human traditions!" Kirk said enthusiastically.
"Yeah shut your face," McCoy said.
The three sat down with the rest of the bridge crew, and were handed pumpkins.
They slowly carved the pumpkins chatting and joking (excluding Spock).
Uhura finished first. She put her pumpkin onto a shelf. It was a gorgeously carved savannah scene. The light inside made it glow softly, giving the illusion of a sunset.
Next to finish were Chekov and Sulu. Sulu's had a friendly looking face and a bowtie, while Chekov's had a (very bad) carving of Russia.
"Pumpkin carving was inwented in Russia!" He stated happily. Sulu took him by the elbow, shaking his head fondly at his ridiculous partner.
Bones finished next, revealing his pumpkin to have a rather gruesome looking face. He stuck a stickynote to its side, it read:
'Jim if he skips one more physical.'
"Rude," Jim muttered.
Spock finished next. He had done a carving of his childhood pet, I-Chaya the Sehlat. He raised a challenging eyebrow at McCoy's expression.
McCoy wisely kept quiet.
Jim finished his pumpkin, and put it next to Spock's.
McCoy grumbled something along the lines of "God you're so fucking whipped."
Jim decided to ignore that comment. He stepped away so that everyone could see that he had carved a (rather wonky looking but shh) side-profile portrait of Spock.
Spock nodded in approval. "A reasonable attempt, Captain."
Kirk scoffed affectionately. "Reasonable? You can't deny it's the best picture of you you've ever seen."
Spock decided against answering, and instead just looked at Jim.
"...Okay, enough eye-fucking, lets see what Scotty has carved."
Jim glared at Bones. "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."
"You do that." Bones said with a grin.
"Finished!" Scotty announced. He turned his pumpkin around so everyone could see his carving.
It was a highly realistic carving of the Enterprise.
Uhura grinned at him, "Looks that looks excellent!"
She carefully picked it up, putting it next to the other pumpkins on the shelf.
