“No. I’m not doing that.” Nico said firmly.
“Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaseeeeee?” Leo said, doing his best puppy eyes.
“…fine.”
“Yess! I’ll go find Peeves.” Leo said running off.
Nico sighed before heading towards the staff room, his Ravenclaw boyfriend would surely be the death of him.

Nico hid in the shadows as Professor Snape and Mr D. walked past.
Leo raced round the corner, Peeves and Fred Weasley in tow.

“Why is he here?” Nico said, staring pointedly at the Gryffindor.
“He helped me find and convince Peeves to help us, so I said he could help!” Leo said cheerily.
“Let’s get on with it. Okay?”

After Leo had explained the plan, Peeves flew off.

Nico turned to the door to the staffroom and muttered an incantation. Fred did the same. (Though he would never admit it to anyone, (especially not Leo) he was grateful for Fred’s help, Fred was a more experienced wizard after all).

They finished the spell and ran away, hiding in a broom closet.

There was a loud bang, followed by splashing and screams. Several sets of footfalls followed as the teachers burst from the staffroom, running to see what Peeves had done.

Leo and Nico sat at the Gryffindor table with Fred and George Weasley, while technically speaking they were supposed to sit with their houses, Leo had requested that they sit with Fred. (Nico had agreed, not feeling like being called homophobic slurs by Malfoy that night.)

The Hallowe’en feast was set to end at midnight, leaving plenty of time for too much sugar and delicious food.

As the clock struck midnight there was a weird popping sound. The teachers had suddenly acquired various animalistic traits, from tails to horns.

Nico kicked Leo under the table to stop him from laughing and giving them away as the perpetrators of the prank.

“Oh deer.” Dumbledore said. He had two antlers protruding from under his wizard hat.

Leo cracked, and started laughing.

“You did this on porpoise.” Snape said furiously. He was trying to look intimidating. An effect that was ruined by the fact that his arms had transformed into dolphin flippers.

Nico surreptitiously stamped on Leo’s foot, who was clearly on the brink of laughter again.

“Tell us how to undo this right meow, or there will be dire consequences.” McGonagall said, glare considerably not softened by the fluffy grey cat ears poking out through her hair.

“I expected better of you, di Angelo, why would you mouse around with these three troublemakers?” Flitwick squeaked, mouse tail trailing on the floor as he paced. (It should be noted that George was also present in this telling off, despite not having been implicated in the prank.)

Dumbledore smiled at the four and turned to the teachers, “My deer professors, provided these boys lift this pun inducing spell, I think that in the spirit of Hallowe’en we should let them off lightly, it was a rather impressive piece of magic after all.”

Snape glared at Dumbledore but said nothing.

Nico got out his wand and stepped forward, quickly casting the countercurse.
With a pop, the teachers returned to normal.

McGonagall stepped forward. “As Dumbledore said, it was impressive magic. If you put as much effort into class as you did with pranks you’d likely get all O’s in your OWL’s. However due to the inconvenience, I shall be taking five points for your respective houses. You are dismissed.”

The four nodded and left the room.

“Dude that was awesome!” George said.
“I know right??” Leo agreed, eyes sparkling.
“You are totally a part of the Weasley pranksters now.” Fred said.
George nodded enthusiastically.

“Okay, well I’m going to bed, good night Leo, ‘night you two.” Nico said, before turning and walking down to the Slytherin dorms.
