"There is no way we will win this war sir." Ron Weasley cried out in behalf of his best friend the night before the battle.
Â
Dumbledore did not care if he was setting the young boy, Harry, up for failure. As long as voldemort was dead, he didn't care.Â
Â
Dumbledore had always had this plan for his mentee, train him for war and if he died then so be it. When he saw Harry go into the forest alone, he knew he'd done well. He saw Harry die. He took him to the afterlife, made sure Harry was okay (ish) here and then looked back down on earth.Â
Â
He saw Hagrid carry his body through trees and rubble until he reached where everyone was gathered. He placed Harry's body down.
Â
"Sir, is that me?" Spirit Harry asked.
Â
"Yes." No need to lie, "your mother is waiting my boy." He went away fast enough.
Â
He saw narcissa approach Harry's body.
Â
"Dead." Narcissa Malfoy said to voldemort. In another, more fair universe maybe she didn't mean it.
Â
Draco, Harry momentary and juvenile love winced as if he'd swallowed a bee. His death stung most likely. Other people screamed and shouted and cried. It was chaos. Dumbledore knew however that voldemort would soon die. He was right. Ronald killed him with an avada which did also kill himself and hermione. However war was over.
Â
He may have set his boy up for failure but all is well that ends well. Sort of.
