Chapter 2

Waking up the next day, Harry sighed thinking about everything he had to do to prepare his family for their trip overseas. He also realised that he would have to let certain people know where they were going in case of emergencies. With a huff, Harry got out of bed. He had slept surprisingly well considering there was a funeral the day before, but the sheer fact that he wasn’t awake because of his godson jumping on him suggested the lack of nightmares. It was a strange feeling for Harry, but a welcome one as he felt more well rested than he had in a long time.

After completing his morning bathroom routine, Harry made his way towards Teddy’s room, only to find the room empty. Harry only panicked for a second before hearing his godson giggling from downstairs. Shaking his head with a smile, he made his way downstairs to find Teddy and Luna in the kitchen, attempting to make pancakes.

“Aunty Loony, that’s not what it looks like when Uncle Harry does it!” Teddy giggled as Luna attempted to pour a mixture into the frying pan. Attempted because it was lumpy and way too thick for pancakes. Luna huffed.

“I did exactly what he does! I don’t know where I went wrong! I blame the nargles entirely.” She stated before placing both the bowl and the pan back on to the counter.

“Uncle Harry is special, he knows this kind of thing.” Teddy giggled. Luna turned to him sat on the counter.

“Oh so I’m not special am I? Huh Teddy? I’m not special?” Luna questioned while tickling the five year old. Teddy squealed as his aunt tickled him, his hair turning a bright pink to show his excitement. Harry smiled at them from the doorway, loving how carefree they both were acting.

“Luna, have you finished torturing our godson yet?” Harry asked, stepping into the kitchen. Luna turned to him with a scowl.

“He deserves so much more torture than this!” Luna declared. Harry raised an eyebrow.

“Oh? And what did Master Lupin do to require such torture?” Harry asked in a mock serious tone, folding his arms across his chest. He sent a wink to Teddy who giggled in response.

“Your godson just told me that I’m not special.” Luna said matter-of-factly with her hands on her hips, a very good interpretation of Andy. Harry chuckled before turning serious again.

“Well, that simply won’t do. As punishment, I charge you, Teddy Lupin, to an endless bout of tickling for your heinous crime!” Harry declared before pouncing on his godson and proceeding to tickle his cub until he was red in the face from laughing so much. Luna stood off to the side giggling into her hands watching the scene. Luna sighed and decided to save her godson from his fate.

“Right, come on you two. I think Teddy has been punished enough. The twinkleberries say that we all have a lot to do today and have suggested that we should make a plan of action.” Luna said. Though she still talks of magical beings that nobody is sure exists, she had lost most of the airy notes to voice some years ago. It still comes out every now and again, but only in times that she is truly relaxed enough for her to not even think about the tone of her voice. Harry nodded.

“Alright, but first, breakfast!” Harry said grinning before going about and making pancake batter the correct way. “What you did wrong, my dear, is you used cornflour instead of plain flour. They are two completely different things. But you get an A for effort.” Harry grinned as Luna scowled back at him. Teddy laughed at the banter between his aunt and uncle. “Now Teddy bear, what type of pancakes are we going for today? Blueberry? Chocolate? Lemon? All three?” Harry asked. Teddy sat and thought about it before grinning.

“All three?” He asked with a sweet smile. Harry chuckled and nodded before splitting his batter into two jugs so that he could mix in the lemon curd into one load of batter for the lemon pancakes.

“Alright, I’m going to go get a pad and pen and we can plan the day while you’re busy cooking breakfast. I swear, you spoil him something rotten.” Luna chuckled as she made her way towards the exit of the kitchen.

“And you don’t?” Harry scoffed with a smile. Luna stuck her tongue out just as she left the kitchen. “Well that showed me huh Teddy?” He asked, grinning. “Alright, how about I make you one lemon, one chocolate and one blueberry and then if you are still hungry after that then I can make you up some more?” Harry proposed.

“Yeah! Could we maybe take some for snacks when we go out today?” Teddy asked, doing the puppy pout he knows melts his aunt’s heart. Harry raised an eyebrow before nodding. “Yes! I knew that would work on you too.” Teddy grinned.

“No no, I’m not giving in because you pulled the puppy eyes, I’m saying yes because it is actually a good idea. Now stop being cheeky you.” Harry said before tapping Teddy’s nose with the batter filled wooden spoon. Teddy squealed and Luna returned just as Harry was dropping some lemon pancake batter into the frying pan.

“What did he do Teddy?” Luna asked, taking a wipe and cleaning his nose.

“So now you’re on his side?” Harry asked in outrage while Teddy laughed at the two.

“He’s cuter.” Luna said with a shrug. Harry put his hand to his chest, offended, before chuckling and agreeing. “Right Potter, what is the plan after breakfast?” Luna asked, setting her pen poised to take notes. Harry flipped the first pancake before answering.

“Well, we will need to go to Gringotts today for sure, I have that meeting scheduled with Ragnok at 10am.” Harry said as Luna wrote it on her pad. “Then I guess we should go round Diagon Alley for a few things. I know there are a few books that I need to pick up and an order from the twins too.” Harry said, plating up Teddy’s lemon pancake before pouring some plain batter into the pan and sprinkling some blueberries on it.

“Yeah, I have an order of books I need to collect too, and I would like to restock our potion ingredients supply too. So, I’ve got Gringotts first, then we can go to Flourish and Blotts to pick up our book orders. After that I think we could stop off at the apothecary for the potions supply, have an ice-cream/lunch break and then visit the twins?” Luna finished looking up at Harry who was serving Teddy his blueberry pancake. Harry nodded as he placed more batter and sprinkled chocolate chips on top.

“I was also thinking about stopping in at Honeydukes and Madame Malkins too. Opening a bakery I’m going to need comfy shoes and aprons that won’t stain. Plus, I want to see if they do any wand holsters that are undetectable, just so that I can keep my wand on me without people wondering why I’m carrying a stick around.” Harry said, chuckling at the last comment. Luna nodded and added them to the list before using her wand to rearrange the list.

“Alright, so I’ve got us down for Gringotts, then Madame Malkin’s so that if we order anything, she has time to make them and have them ready before we leave the alley. Then Flourish and Blotts, then the apothecary, then lunch, then Honeydukes, visiting the twins and then back to Madame Malkin’s to pick up any orders we make. Sound good?” Luna asked with a smile.

“Sounds good.” Harry grinned before placing the rest of the pancakes on the plates. Harry and Luna both helped themselves to some pancakes and then whatever was left over was placed into a tub and put into Luna’s beaded bag that Hermione had given to her. You see, Harry, Ron and Hermione had all made wills before leaving on their hunt for the horcruxes, and Harry had made sure Luna knew of them. Ron left his deluminator to Ginny and Hermione had left her beaded bag with extension charms to Luna. It was a way to keep them both close without throwing their deaths in Harry’s face because Harry still felt somewhat responsible for their deaths.

“Right cub, let's go get our cloaks and then we can head out.” Harry said, taking Teddy to go and get his cloak and shoes on. While the trio were usually okay with doing things the muggle way, when stepping into Diagon Alley, they embraced the magical way of life and so jackets were replaced by cloaks. Luna joined them by the front door, already prepared with her cloak and shoes on, and in true Luna fashion, her odd socks were on show for everyone to see. “Ready?” Harry asked with a smile. Luna nodded and the family of three stepped out of the door and side-apparated to Diagon Alley.

“I didn’t like that. I will never like that.” Teddy groaned, his face a little green from the uncomfortable sensation. Harry and Luna chuckled, knowing that when the time was right, Teddy would be just as comfortable with apparition. The three started to make their way down the magical street towards Gringotts.

You would never know that only five years previous there had been a devastating war in the wizarding world. Diagon Alley was almost destroyed multiple times throughout the course of the war, and yet it somehow remained standing. Many shops were forced to close due to the worry that they would be attacked for showing any signs of life. And yet, after the war, after all of the death and destruction the death eaters caused, businesses in Diagon Alley slowly began trading again.

At first it was one or two shops opening for a couple hours a day for necessities like potion ingredients and other supplies that were necessary. But soon enough, the Alley was teeming with life again, all of the shops opened back up which encouraged more people to venture to the Alley and return to some form of ordinary life. Walking through the Alley now reminded Harry more of his first trip to Diagon Alley when he was eleven years old, a much happier and carefree Harry.

People still sometimes stopped Harry when out in public to thank him for ending the monstrosity that was Voldemort, but that had died off for the most part three years after the war had ended. Now, most people just smile at him and let him continue on his way. This was what happened today too. Many people turned and smiled at the family of three as they strolled down the Alley towards Gringotts.

Upon entering Gringotts, the trio made their way towards a free teller.

“Harry Potter to see Account Manager Ragnok please.” Harry said in a commanding tone. The teller looked up with a sneer.

“I will let Ragnok know you have arrived promptly, Mr Potter.” The teller replied before hopping off his high stool and wandering towards the door. After waiting for a couple of minutes, the teller had returned with Ragnok.

“Ahh Mr Potter, good to see that you arrive on time. This way.” Ragnok stated before turning back and heading through the door he had just come from. Harry and Luna looked at each other before proceeding to follow the goblin. After a five minute walk through many a winding hallway, they stopped outside of a door that had Account Manager Ragnok embossed on the glass. They entered after the goblin and waited until he was seated before taking a seat themselves.

“So, what can I do for you today Mr Potter?” Ragnok asked, folding his hands on the table in front of him.

“I was just wondering if we could go over our accounts and perform inheritance tests on all three of us to start sir.” Harry asked politely and in a respectful tone. Ragnok nodded.

“Are all three of you looking to have an inheritance test?” Ragnok asked and Luna nodded for both herself and Teddy. “Right then, I’m sure you are aware that inheritance tests can be expensive, but I’m positive that you can afford it Mr Potter. Your investments have been quite fruitful over the past five years, it seems. They,  along with any vaults that you can claim after the inheritance test, will provide you with quite the fortune, I’m sure.” Ragnok concluded before pulling three pieces of parchments and a knife from a drawer in his desk.

“Exactly how much are these tests, Ragnok?” Harry asked.

“150G each Mr Potter. It is very rare that one does not know their true inheritance and so the need for these tests are not very common, hence the price. Shall we proceed?” Ragnok asked, presenting the knife and a piece of parchment to Harry. Harry nodded. “Good. Now, three drops of blood on the seal and then we wait. Might as well do all three of you at the same time. Just pass the sheets back once all three of you have dropped the blood.” Ragnok stated before going to his filing cabinet and bringing out the Potter file.

“Teddy, this may hurt a little, but we can heal it straight after, okay cub?” Harry asked. Teddy nodded and presented his finger to his godfather. Harry proceeded to cut a line down Teddy’s forefinger and squeezed three drops of his blood onto the seal and the top of the parchment. Teddy winced. “Sorry cub. Episky.” Harry murmured, pointing his wand at Teddy’s finger. Teddy smiled again as he watched his finger magically heal itself. Harry then slid the knife down his finger and dropped three droplets onto the seal above his name before passing the knife to Luna for her to do the same.

By the time the three parchments had the blood droplets and were set in front of Ragnok’s seat, the goblin had returned with both the Potter and the Lovegood files and plonked them onto his desk.

“Good. While we are waiting for those to develop, shall we go over your current investments?” Ragnok asked. Luna nodded and asked to go first.

“Right. Miss Lovegood, your investment in the Quibbler has produced much income for yourself as readership has multiplied tenfold in the last five years. Now your 70% share is worth 7 million Galleons. Your investment in the muggle corporation of Apple is still worth the £3 million you originally invested. I'm afraid they seem to be losing business to another big corporation called Samsung.” Ragnok finished and Luna nodded to herself. She knew that she would be making more money soon enough when they open their new business in the States. Ragnok moved onto Harry.

“Mr Potter, your 30% share in the Quibbler is now worth 3 million Galleons. Your 33% share of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes is now worth 3 million Galleons and is rising everyday – your monthly earnings are deposited straight into the Potter Family vault.” Ragnok finished and Harry nodded, happy that his investments were proving very fruitful indeed. “Now that’s all done, let's have a look at these tests.” Ragnok said, closing the potter file and pulling forward the three parchments. “Who would like to go first?” He asked. Luna and Harry looked at each other before looking down towards Teddy who looked very bored.

“Teddy can go first.” Luna said with Harry nodding along.

“Very well. Mr Theodore Lupin. Your test results are as follows:

“It seems you are a wealthy little boy Mr Lupin.” Ragnok said after he had finished reading out Teddy’s inheritance. Teddy just looked bored and confused. “Who would like to be next?” He asked and Luna raised her hand. “Okay, Miss Lovegood your test shows as follows:

“You are also a very wealthy lady, Lady Lovegood-Carrow-Ravenclaw.” Ragnok stated while Luna looked mildly shocked.

“I’m afraid I don’t understand. How am I suddenly Lady Carrow? Of course, I knew about the Ravenclaw lineage from my mother’s side, but Carrow?” Luna asked, confusion etched her voice. Ragnok sighed.

“Well, it states that you gained the title by conquest. This means that you must have either bested or vanquished the last of the Carrow heirs and as a result, their line falls to you and all of their monetary value with it. I believe I remember reading that you had killed the Carrow twins in the Great Hall as revenge for their treatment of the first years during their time as Hogwarts professors. As they were the last heirs of the Carrow line, all of their worldly possessions now belong to you as you won them by conquest. Does that make it clearer?” Ragnok explained, peering over his glasses to see Luna.

“Yes actually. Thank you.” Luna replied with a smile. Ragnok then looked over to Harry.

“Moving on finally, to you Mr Potter. Your test shows the following:

“You yourself, are very wealthy indeed Lord Potter. Do you need me to explain anything more to you?” Ragnok asked. Harry thought for a moment before nodding.

“How did I become Lord Dumbledore? I’m a little confused with that. Also, if we were to convert this all into muggle money, how much would we each have in pounds and then again how much we would each have in US Dollars?” Harry asked, thinking about converting at least some of his money into muggle money for their move to the States. Ragnok nodded.

“Albus Dumbledore named you as his heir should both he and his brother die. He obviously felt that you would allow his memory to live on, and as Aberforth Dumbledore died during the Battle for Hogwarts, the line has now passed to you. It also means that you can now use the votes of all the houses to whom you are now the Lord of during Wizengamot meetings.” Ragnok paused to let the information sink in before continuing on. “Now as for the amount each of you would have if it were all converted to muggle money, I shall start with the Great British Pound. Mr Lupin would have £53,759,193.52 in liquid assets and £34,510k in investments; Miss Lovegood would have £203,968,122.78 in liquid assets and £37,517,300.00 in investments; and you Mr Potter would have £1,108,587,552.24 in liquid assets and £115,362,000.00 in investments.” He paused again to let it all sink in and watched almost amused as Harry’s jaw dropped. He was a billionaire; he could not believe it.

“Yes, quite the shock I’m sure. Now if we were to convert that into US Dollars then you would just need to add on 49% to the total as that is the current exchange rate.  May I inquire as to the reasoning for your question Mr Potter?” Ragnok questioned leaning slightly forward in his chair.

“Well, the three of us will be moving to the United States in two days so we wanted to know the exchange rate so thank you for that. But there was something else too. We were wondering if you would be able to get us the correct papers that we would need to move to the US without waiting through all the usual paperwork wait times. So, things like long term visas, social security numbers, bank accounts, health insurance, place to live… things like that?” Harry asked, hopeful. “It was kind of a last-minute decision that we made about a week ago and we haven’t had time to get things ready.” Harry said bashfully, rubbing his hand behind his neck due to the nerves. His nerves relented a little when he saw Ragnok nodding.

“Yes, I can have all of your paperwork that is necessary ready for you by the end of the day as well as a house ready for you along with a driver to pick you up from the airport. Have you already booked your flights, or will I need to add that to the list?” Ragnok asked, writing down everything that they would need to be able to live out there comfortably.

“Umm, I have already booked our flights and we land at Seattle International at 10:30am on Wednesday, a short 2 hour layover before our flight to Port Angeles which arrives at 2pm on Wednesday. If we had a ride ready for around 2:30pm to take us to the house, that would be great. Also, you mentioned helping us find a house, are there many in the area of Forks, WA? And if there were any stores up for sale too, I’d like to see them.” Harry said with a smile. Ragnok nodded and retrieved a file from a different cabinet.

“These are the only houses up for sale in that area, and there happens to be a number of stores up for sale in the town centre too. Feel free to have a quick look and then let me know which you would like to buy and which vault you’d like the money to come out of.” The goblin stated while passing Harry the file. Luna and Teddy moved in a little closer so that the three could decide where they were going to be living.

All three had promise, but only one stood out to the little family. The pictures were beautiful, showing off the house’s open plan downstairs, a huge library/study, and multiple bedrooms. But it was the outside space that truly sold it to them. Behind the house, there was a huge field that lined with the forest, and the actual house was far enough away from other people that they would be able to do magic and even fly their brooms without being noticed. The closest neighbours were on the other side of the forest. The house was designed by Mrs Cullen and from the pictures alone, the trio were in love.

“I think we will take this house. Price is not an issue and could you take the money from the Dumbledore vault please.” Harry said, handing the file back to Ragnok who nodded.

“Yes yes, not a problem. Now as for the other things you requested, it does come with a price.” The goblin said, peering over his glasses once more.

“Of course, the price is fine and please take that from the Potter vault.” Harry said.

“Very good. Now, as I said all of your documents, passports etc will be ready by the end of the day, would you rather pick them up or have them delivered? And is there anything else that I can do for you today?” Ragnok asked.

“Delivered I think would be best please, Master Ragnok. And I was wondering if there was a way that we would be able to access our money here at Gringotts without returning to take money from our vaults or having to worry about the exchange rate at all?” Luna asked with a sweet smile. Ragnok nodded.

“We have Gringotts cards that work exactly like a muggle debit card. We can link them to all of your vaults or just to certain vaults if you wish. With these cards, the exchange rates are the same as what I’ve just told you. £4.93=1G, $7.35=1G. You can take money out of the muggle cash machines anywhere in the world and the exchange rate will always be fixed, but as you are going to be primarily in either the USA or Great Britain, we will not charge you per transaction. Anywhere outside of those two countries, any cash withdrawals will cost 2G per 100G. The price for these cards is 5G. If you would like, we also have wallets available with anti-theft and anti-clone charms on them at 10G each.” Ragnok concluded. Luna looked to Harry and they each nodded.

“We will take three of those cards and three wallets. Can I have the Dumbledore, Trust, Peverell and Black vaults linked up to my card please, and can Teddy just have his Trust vault linked to his card until he is of age please?” Harry asked. Ragnok nodded, tapping his finger on each of the cards and drawing a different pattern on each. Harry assumed that it was Ragnok linking the different accounts to each card. Ragnok then looked expectantly at Luna.

“Oh yes, I’ll have all of my accounts linked to my card and can I have my wallet in purple?” She asked, a giddy look in her eyes. Ragnok did the same as he had for the previous two cards before passing them and their wallets over to the two adults. Teddy was just sitting munching on a pancake because they had been there that long that he had gotten rather peckish.

“Thank you so much for your help today, Master Ragnok. It is appreciated.” Harry said, bowing to the goblin. Ragnok looked quite shocked at the show of respect from the wizard, before remembering himself and giving him a low bow in return.

“You are quite welcome, Lord Potter. I will ensure that everything is in order for your arrival on Wednesday. I shall have everything delivered to your current residence by tonight, and I will make certain that you receive a monthly statement of yours and your godson’s accounts, and yourself as well Lady Lovegood.” Ragnok said, bowing to Luna as he showed them the door.

“Thank you, Master Ragnok!” Teddy said with a grin as he waved to the goblin while leaving the room.

The trio made their way out of the bank and back to the bubbling street of Diagon Alley. All around them, families were going about their business and not paying any attention to those around them.

“Alright, well that was eye-opening.” Harry said with a dumbstruck look on his face. Teddy giggled at his godfather’s face while Luna just smiled serenely. “Anyways, shall we head to Madame Malkin’s?” He asked, looking at his two companions.

“Oh, lets! I want a new pair of lab trousers and a cloak.” Luna said sweetly.

“Let’s go then!” Teddy giggled, pulling the two adults in the direction of Madame Malkin’s. Harry and Luna shook their heads fondly before allowing themselves to be pulled by their little godson.

Upon entering the store, they found that they were quite busy.

“Won’t be a minute deary!” Madame Malkin called as she finished up pinning someone’s robes to resize them. She then looked up and saw who exactly had entered her shop. “Well, Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood, a pleasure to have you here it is.” She grinned. “Now what can I get you both?” She asked, hands on her hip. Harry chuckled at her.

“Well, we are actually going to be placing an order today and if you could put it on rush that would be great? Price isn’t an issue Madame.” Harry said formally. Madame Malkin’s eyes grew wide at the request before summoning her dictaquill and pad.

“Now none of that Mr Potter, please call me Mary, I’ve only known you since you were eleven.” Mary chuckled as Harry blushed. “Alright then. What can we do for you today then?” She asked, going around to her counter where she can begin to price things up for them.

“Luna, do you want to go first?” Harry asked, ushering her forward. Luna smiled and turned towards Mary.

“Well, I would like fourteen sets of potions overalls all different colours, go crazy! And if you could add the odd anti-stain charm to them that would be great too please. Ummm, a pair of the cloud boots in all three colours please, again with the anti-stain charm please! Two pairs of dragon hide gloves would be amazing, two lab cloaks, and seven different coloured winter cloaks. Oh, and do you provide any muggle attire?” Luna asked after placing her order. Mary looked quite flustered thinking that this was just one order.

“Yes dear, we do muggle attire. What I’ll need you to do would be to get your measurements taken and then I’ll write them on the front of the catalogue. Then you can go through this catalogue here and circle the items that you would like. After that, I can have everything ready for you by about 6pm this evening as Mr Potter mentioned he would like it all to be on rush.” Mary smiled, pushing Luna over to the stool. Luna stepped onto the stool and allowed her measurements to be taken. After this, Mary handed Luna the muggle attire catalogue and a quill before gesturing that Luna take a seat. “Anything for yourself Mr Potter?” She asked, peering at Harry and Teddy who had been very patient.

“Yes, can Teddy please have three winter cloaks in whatever colours he likes, along with some dragonhide boots and some winter gloves. And then we will go through the muggle attire catalogue for the both of us too.” Harry asked and Mary ushered Teddy onto the stool. Teddy giggled as the tape measure whizzed around him and then stepped down once it was done. Mary looked towards Harry expectantly as if knowing that there would be another order. Harry smiled.

“And I would like five winter cloaks in black, emerald green lining, and midnight blue, and then whatever you think would be best for the other two. I would also like fifteen aprons with anti-stain, anti-flame, and anti-tear that I can re-size and design myself at a later date. Also, ten pairs of your famous cloud shoes in a variety of colours, again with the anti-stain charms on them all too, a pair of dragon hide boots, pair of dragon hide gloves, and I will also be going through the muggle attire catalogue.” Harry finished and Mary gleamed with joy at the extent of the order. “I was wondering if you also sold any dragon hide wand holsters for the arm that can be charmed so that it is invisible to all but the wearer with additional anti-theft and anti-summoning charms too.” Harry asked with a smile.

“It just so happens that I got my new stock just yesterday of the wand holsters that you are looking for. How many would you like? And then could you pop up onto the stool for me to take your measurements please.” Mary asked, clasping her hands together.

“Umm, two please. One for myself and one for Luna.” Harry responded as he stood on the stool, watching as the measuring tape whizzed around him. Mary smiled once the tape had finished and Harry stepped down.

“Not a problem. Now, here is the catalogue for you boys to flick through. Anything that Teddy would like can be made to fit his size. And if you’d like, I can add a growing charm to his clothes so that they grow with him until he is a couple years older, completely free of charge as it is such a large order for your group.” Mary enquired. Harry smiled and nodded as he watched his godson go through the catalogue marking a T next to anything that he thought looked cool. “Perfect. Just let me know when you are all done with the catalogues and then I will ring you up and get your order started.” She smiled before turning back to give her attention to some new customers walking through the door.

Harry and Teddy spent around fifteen minutes going through the catalogue, noting a H next to all that Harry wanted and a T next to Teddy’s preferences. They went through everything from underwear to sweaters and coats. They had both circled a lot. Harry looked over to see if Luna had finished with her catalogue.

“Oh, I’m quite done Harry. I’ve been waiting on you two.” She said airily, handing her catalogue to Harry.

“Mary, we are done with the catalogues.” He called.

“Be there in a moment, just go up to the counter and put the catalogue up there and it will start ringing you up dear.” She called back as she was trying to get the measurements of a particularly rowdy child who just would not keep still. Harry shrugged and placed the two catalogues on the counter next to the till and watched as boxes upon boxes began to appear and didn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. “Oh, for Merlin’s sake. Agatha! Can you see to this family please, I need to sort out Mr Potter.” Mary called into the back, waiting until she saw Agatha before making her way to the counter where Harry’s order was quickly piling up.

“Oh, don’t worry about that, I’ll shrink them down before they overtake the entire store,” she joked. “Now. All of the prices have already been collected from the catalogue, so I just need to add your orders from before the catalogues. Will it all be in one transaction?” She asked. At Harry’s nod she continued.

“Alright then, as the order is so large, I’ll have the charms added on for free but I’m afraid I won’t be able to waver the rush price as it will take me some time away from the storefront to get it all ready by tonight for you. The rush charge is an additional 50G which brings your total to 3,471G 23Si 2Kn.” Mary finished. “How will we be paying for it? Cash or card?” She asked, looking at Harry over the counter. Harry fished his new Gringotts card from his wallet.

“Card please.” He said handing the card over to Mary. She nodded and swiped his card before handing him the receipt that he would need to sign. He signed it and handed it all back. “So, everything will be ready for pick up around 6pm?” Harry asked, checking his watch that said it was 1pm currently.

“Yep, and I’ll have it all shrunk down and in bags for you too. Thank you for your business today Mr Potter, and I shall see you at 6pm.” Mary smiled as she showed them out the door. The trio exited the store and made their way over to Flourish and Blotts. Luckily, they would only need to wait a few moments for their order to be retrieved from the back of the store.

“Ahh Mr Potter, Miss Lovegood, I have both of your orders ready, just allow me a moment to get them from the back. Feel free to browse while you wait.” The store manager said with a smile before he disappeared into the back of the store. Harry and Luna began to browse the more adult section, while Teddy went over to the kid’s section.

“Uncle Harry, can I have this please?” Teddy asked as he walked to his godfather holding up a pristine copy of The Tales of Beedle The Bard . Harry didn’t see anything wrong and so he smiled and nodded.

“You’re going to spoil him, Harry.” Luna muttered once their godson was out of range.

“Ahh come on Luna, it’s a children’s book on wizarding tales. I never had that growing up, so it’ll be fun to read them with him at night.” Harry reasoned while Luna shook her head smiling fondly. “Anyways, what kind of books did you order?” Harry asked her, raising an eyebrow.

“Oh, just a couple of potions books, creature books, herbology books, household charms, that kind of thing. Oh, and a few books on American culture.” Luna grinned. “What about you?” She asked.

“I ordered some potions books, charms, DADA, a quidditch book or two, a copy of Hogwarts: A History, recipe books, and a bunch of American history books. If we are going to be living there, I want to know the country’s history.” He defended upon seeing her questioning look.

“Oh yes of course! The copy of Hogwarts: A History, is that for her?” Luna asked tentatively, knowing that speaking of either of Harry’s late best friends was always a touchy subject. Harry sighed and nodded.

“Hermione always raved about that book, insisted on taking a copy with us on our hunt. Never left home without it.” Harry murmured. It felt good to talk about his friends again. It may have been five years, but Harry still felt some of the guilt regarding their deaths.

“She’ll be glad that you finally have your own copy.” Luna smiled, making Harry chuckle.

“Yeah. Are there any other books you want Luna? I see our order up front.” Harry stated and Luna shook her head as they both went back to the counter.

“Ahh Miss Lovegood, your order is here and there is a complete list of the 53 books inside the box too. And Mr Potter, here is your order of 99 books, again a list of them are inside the box. Now I’ve charmed both boxes with a featherweight charm for easy lifting. Was there anything else?” He asked, looking at the two expectantly. He wanted to ensure that these two customers were extremely well looked after as they had paid in advance for their orders and both orders came to over 1000G each.

“Oh yes, Teddy!” Harry called his godson over and Teddy stumbled over with his new book in his hand. He passed the book to Harry who then passed it to the manager. “We will take this book as well please.” Harry said with a smile. The manager nodded and rang up the book.

“That’s 1G 12Si please.” Harry handed over the coins and then handed the small bag to Teddy who grinned in happiness. “Is that all Mr Potter?” He asked again.

“Actually, do you have a catalogue that we could mail order from if needs be?” Luna answered, taking the manager’s eyes from Harry to her.

“Yes! Of course! Just circle the title you would like and send the catalogue and the money through post and the books will be with you within 24hours.” He said handing them a catalogue. Harry and Luna both smiled and thanked the man before shrinking their orders and placing them in Luna’s beaded bag for safe keeping. Teddy insisted that he keep hold of his bag. With a final thank you, the trio left the store and continued on to the apothecary.

“Now Teddy, you must not touch anything in this store, we don’t want you getting hurt because of ingredients you shouldn’t be touching, understood?” Luna said sternly, which was unusual for her. There are very few times that Luna is so stern with Teddy, but when it came to potions, ingredients and herbology, she was adamant that he not touch anything.

“Yes, Aunty Loony. I promise I won’t touch anything.” Teddy swore as he took Harry’s hand. Luna nodded with a smile before entering the shop. She marched straight up to the counter and asked for her order. The lady behind the counter nodded and rushed out the back to get the massive order.

“Right, we have 20 Pepper Ups, 20 Dreamless Sleeps, 20 Blood Replenishing, 20 Headache Cures, 20 Cold and Flus, 15kilos of every potions ingredient that we stock with stay-fresh charms applied and other such stasis charms, a pack of seeds for all of the plants that we do not grow and sell in store, ten pewter cauldrons, 3 brass scales, 2500 glass phials, 50 stirring rods, 50 ladles, one 45 piece knife set, a pestle and mortar, 10 chopping boards, and finally a child’s first potions kit.” She listed, finishing when Teddy giggled as Harry looked at Luna with a raised eyebrow.

“What?” She asked indignantly. “You’re allowed to spoil him but I’m not? Double standards Harry Potter, double standards.” She sighed, turning back to the counter while Teddy giggled at the banter between them. Harry just chuckled and shook his head.

“Is it all safe to shrink and then resize once I’m in my new house?” Luna asked.

“Oh, yes definitely. The stasis charms will not falter no matter their size or what the ingredients are stored in. I assume you won’t be keeping them all in their sacks?” She asked Luna, raising her eyebrow.

“No, we are moving and in the new house I have my own lab and the walls are going to be covered with drop shoots for each ingredient. It’s rather exciting.” Luna grinned, making the lady a little uncomfortable.

“Well, as you pre-paid for this order, all I need to do is pop them into bags and then add some featherweight charms and you can be on your way.” She smiled and Luna grinned back nodding.

Half an hour later everything had been shrunk and placed into Luna’s beaded bag and they were on their way by 2:45pm.

“Right, how about we stop for some lunch?” Harry asked.

“Yes yes yes!” Squealed Teddy as he jumped up and down, his Flourish and Blotts bag swinging on his arm. Harry and Luna smiled down at him.

“Alright, cub, why don’t we head to the Leaky Cauldron for lunch? You can have your favourite!” Luna said while tickling the five year old. Teddy squealed and nodded and so the trio found themselves walking through the Alley towards the Leaky Cauldron. When they arrived, they found a table and Tom came over to them.

“And what can I have the honour of serving you three today?” Tom asked with a toothless grin.

“Can I have a cheese and ham toastie with curly fries please Tom?” Teddy asked with a sweet smile. “Ooo, and apple juice too please.” He remembered. Tom smiled and nodded, noting down the child’s order.

“I’ll have a full English please Tom and a butterbeer please.” Harry asked and Tom nodded once again.

“Could I please have my usual eggs benedict with a cup of coffee please Tom?” Luna asked airily to which Tom smiled once again before wandering off behind the bar to take care of their orders.

Soon enough, they had their food in front of them and their drinks to the side and the three were tucking into their meals with gusto. Teddy was very quiet while eating, but the grin on his face told them that he was content. Almost an hour later, and they were ready to leave.

“Tom, I was wondering if there was a way to order crates of butterbeer and have them delivered to a non-UK address?” Harry asked as he paid the bill for their meals. Tom looked surprised by the request but nodded.

“If you have the address with you now Mr Potter, then we could set up a monthly subscription for 15G per crate of 30 bottles?” Tom offered. Harry nodded.

“That seems reasonable. How would we do that?” He asked, stopping himself from putting his Gringotts card back into his wallet.

“I would need the sort code and account number to create the monthly payment and then the address and your signature.” Tom said putting the required parchment on the bar in front of Harry. Harry smiled and filled out the form before sliding his card into his wallet and sliding the parchment to Tom.

“You’re one of a small handful of people who know that address, please do not abuse my trust.” Harry asked seriously. Tom gulped but nodded.

“Everything seems to be in order, Mr Potter. The first crate will be delivered on Thursday evening around 5pm UK time.” Tom nodded. Harry thanked the man and went back to his little family and all three left through the door they had come through not forty-five minutes ago.
