Frilled Jellyfish Cookie swam through the Duskgloom sea alone. She ignored the gem mermaids' warnings. She quite frankly didn't care. She was going to find her lady no matter what. She would soon learn this was a bad idea as she didn't remember what her lady even looked like. She swam, for how long? She didn't know. Everything was dark. The only thing in sight was the sunken remains of ships. She shuddered she couldn't imagine what kind of beast could have caused all this destruction.
"White Pearl Cookie?" she called out over and over. There was no response. She kept swimming and swimming and swimming. By this point she was very tired, she had been swimming all day with no breaks. She sighed deeply and decided to look for a place to rest. She chose to settle down at the remains of a sunken ship. She stayed there for a while, the journey finally taking it's toll made her fall asleep. She closed her eyes; a little nap couldn't hurt right? Frilled Jellyfish didn't know this at the time but there was something lurking nearby...
Frilled Jellyfish Cookie woke up. She could feel something staring at her. "Hello? Is anyone there?" she called out looking around. There was nothing but an eerie silence. She hesitantly swam out of the ship remains and continued to look around. That's when she saw it, a large blue eye staring at her, watching her every move. "Um, hi?" Frilled Jellyfish said staring back at eye. It disappeared into the darkness and out emerged a siren. A beautiful siren. Sea foam like hair contrasting her lovely black scales. The siren looked at her with sad confused eyes.
"Frilled Jellyfish Cookie? Is that really you?" the siren asked, voice shaking. Although she may look different now Frilled Jellyfish knew this was her lady. "Yes, it's me my lady" she replied a smile growing on her lips. She was suddenly embraced by the sobbing form of her lady. "M-my lady?" Frilled Jellyfish said while trying to comfort the siren. "I missed you... I thought you were dead..." sniffled Black Pearl.
They spent some time like that, Frilled Jellyfish comforting Black Pearl as she cried. When she finally calmed down Frilled Jellyfish decided to ask some questions. "My lady, do you mind if I ask some questions?" the other gave a small nod so she continued. "Do you know what happened here and what cause all of this?" Black Pearl looked down not answering the question. "It's ok if you don't want to answer it" Frilled Jellyfish said in an attempt to end the awkward silence. "No, it's fine..." Black Pearl sighed, "It was me. I caused all these ships to sink." "Oh that's..." the jellyfish wasn't sure what to say so instead she just hugged her pearl. The siren returned the hug in full.
The two of them sat in the abyss of the Duskgloom sea. At peace in each other's arms. They were happy, well the happiest they had been after what had happened a century ago. "You won't leave me again, right?" the pearl asked. "Of course, not my pearl" "Promise?" "Promise" she smiled, and the jellyfish smiled back. They slowly drifted off to sleep...
Black Pearl woke up thinking everything might be a dream she looked around desperately for Frilled Jellyfish. She breathed a sigh of relief to see her love sleeping by her side. She decided to let her love sleep as she went for a swim. She swam to the first ship that was sunk, reminiscing about the past and her sisters. She misses them but she now has her beloved jellyfish with her. Maybe she could finally be happy again.
Black Pearl felt something approach her and out of habit she chopped it up into little pieces. By the time she realized what and who it was it was too late. "Frilled Jellyfish Cookie...? N-no, what have I done!?" she sobbed looking and attempting to grab the remains of her lover floating away. She held onto all the remains she could keeping them close to her chest as she continued to weep. This time the jellyfish wouldn't revive. Black Pearl was once again left in the abyss of her own making to sit and rot in her heartbreak.
