Drama Llamas

Fitz tossed a handful of popcorn in his mouth and chewed thoughtfully, watching Jinks introduce Lily to the team. The team was supposed to be watching recent game footage, since it was a rainy training day. It should have started half an hour ago, in fact, but instead everyone was paying attention to Jinks and Lily.

As much as he liked watching Molly smiling smugly at her cousin and the team’s Seeker, Fitz was ready to make everyone actually do some work.

“So,” he drawled, and beside him Molly quirked an eyebrow at him.

“So?”

“Two things,” he told her, brushing the salt off his fingers. “First, you really did good with that one. Those two are inseparable, and totally ridiculous, and I’m going to call them the Drama Llamas.”

Lily must have just told a dirty joke, because Zara was rolling her eyes at them while the Beaters laughed uproariously.

“Drama Llamas is officially their couple name,” Molly agreed. “Second?”

“We’re never going to get rid of your cousin, are we?” Fitz watched as Jinks and Lily curled up on the purple sofa together. “This is supposed to be team training, not movie night. She’s a total distraction.”

“I realize you’ve spent the most time around Lucy and Hugo, but-” Molly gestured at her cousin. “That’s a typical Weasley. You really ought to get used to it, unless you intend to chuck me.”

“Goddammit. Absolutely not chucking you.” He leaned down to kiss her, and then went on, “She’s worse than Roxanne. Make her go home so we can get some work done.”

She smiled at him affectionately. “I can probably make her go to Jinks’s home, but he’s likely to be useless then.”

“What else is new.” Fitz turned to the team. “Potter!”

Lily jumped, startled, and looked over at him, craning her neck to see around Jinks’s curly head. “What?”

“Get out. We’re going to watch training videos.”

“Can’t she watch them too?” Jinks asked immediately. “I promise to pay attention.”

“I don’t believe you. Girlfriends out, team only.” Fitz pointed toward the door.

“Fitz, you’re an asshat. Evander, I’ll be in your bed.” Lily kissed Jinks briefly and then hopped off his lap.

“Saints preserve us,” he said appreciatively over the whistles of the Beaters, scrambling to his feet. “I’ll walk you out.”

“No you won’t, cause you won’t come back.” Fitz gave him a little push, toppling the Seeker back onto the couch. “Weasley, get rid of your cousin.”

“Come on, Lily,” Molly said, slinging an arm around her cousin’s shoulders. “I’ll walk you out so you don’t get lost and hide in Jinks’s locker.”

“That would be really cool if you did,” Jinks called out. “Or in the showers!”

“Bruv, she already said she’d be in your bed,” Duff told him. “You’re not doing it in the showers, the rest of us have to shower in there too.”

“Not enough disinfectant in the world,” murmured Beathan.

“Back to work, you lazy sods.” Fitz flicked his wand at the screen, and the projector flared to life, with footage of last season’s game against Wimbourne. “Weasley, hurry back, you’re on the clock.”

Molly rolled her eyes and waved Lily toward the door.

Lily was practically bouncing as she walked down the corridor beside Molly. “I mostly know the way out, you know,” she said, and Molly smiled.

“I figured. But if you don’t want to Apparate, you can use the Floo in the team locker room. You can go straight to Jinks’s house from that grate.”

“Oh, good, that’s even quicker. Thank you, by the way.”

Molly gave her a look. “For?”

“Evander, of course.” Lily looped her arm through her cousin’s. “I would think you conjured him from thin air just for me if I hadn’t seen him in the papers so many times.”

“You should’ve come up for a party before now and you would’ve met him a long time ago.”

“Well if you’d told me about him, I probably would have.”

“You’re welcome, by the way.” Molly gave Lily’s hand a pat, smiling fondly at her. “Now get out of here before Fitz misses me and starts yelling.”

Lily ducked into the locker room. “Tempted to hide in the shower after all.”

“You might see Declan naked, and I assure you, it’s not an edifying sight. The man is hairier than a Highland cow.” Molly leaned against the door jamb, arms crossed under her breasts, and grinned at her cousin.

“Well, that’s a shame. But I’ll get Evander naked once he gets home.” Lily winked at her. “You might have to distract Fitz if I show up on the pitch with Evander tomorrow.”

“I’ll let him put you on a broom and run drills with the Chasers. I told him you used to play at school.”

Lily wrinkled her nose. “Maybe I’ll just stay in Evander’s bed and wait him out.”

“You’re ridiculous, but I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.”

“Oh, we’re going to be in love in another week or so,” Lily assured her.

“You barely know him,” Molly said dryly.

“He’s my soul mate, and I’m going to marry him one day, you just watch.” Lily grabbed a handful of Floo powder. “Lily Jinks. It sounds good, doesn’t it?”

Molly shook her head ruefully. “I regret introducing you already.”

“No, you don’t.” Lily stood in the grate and tossed the Floo powder down, calling out Jinks’s address.

Molly rolled her eyes and pushed away from the door frame. She really couldn’t regret it, even if the two of them were a little disgustingly sweet together, because it had been a while since she’d seen that wild light of happiness in Lily’s eyes. And seeing Evander Jinks watching Lily as if he’d never seen anyone more wonderful was very gratifying, too.

She so enjoyed being right.
