Seven.

There has been a total of seven murders across the UK and the more Evan hears about how these people die the more he finds himself looking over his shoulder like he’d be next, at first he thought it was just his mind playing tricks on him but when he looks at the victims on the screen he feels a wave of guilt like this is somehow all his fault, to take his mind of all of this he decided to start writing again, he wanted to try something else for his next novel something he hasn’t done before and that answer was simple Romance, he’s never tried that and he’s never experienced it,
His first ever boyfriend that he got in his third year was…Interesting? Evan won’t sugar coat it.
He has bad taste in men, well except for Barty he’s the nicest guy Evan has ever been with and he’s been with two, so after a few attempts at writing he called his sister, she answered on the second ring.

{To be or not to be that is the question}
He sighed.

“Can’t you answer the phone like a normal person?”

{Am I normal?}

“No”

{Exactly, now what seems to be the problem miss?}

“Do I sound like a miss?”

{God you're no fun, what do you want Evan?}
He paused for a moment.

“What is Love?”

{Baby don’t hurt me?}

“No I mean like what is Romance?”

{Oh you sweet summer child}

“What?”

{Stay right where you are}

And she hung up, not even a minute later she texted him.

After Pandora had arrived she immediately gave him a–Not joking–Two hour lecture about different types of Romance and the stages of love, but when he had explained why he wanted to know she actually gave him some pretty good idea’s, but the one that caught his attention the most is obsessive love.

“What’s that?”
He cut her off from listing off anything else.

“From my understanding, It’s kinda like a fixation on another person as if they were a possession or an object, the person’s obsession will make them believe that the other is unfateful or has other issues-”
She cuts herself off.

“Hold on, you have all these options and you're going for this one?”
He thinks for a moment then simply nods.

“Why do I even bother? Will you at least give them a happy ending?”

“It depends”
She rolls her eyes with a smile. And her phone goes off.

“Oh Reg’s coming over”
He raises an eyebrow.

“He’s not even gonna ask?”
She scoffs, and goes to open the door, and in comes Reg with Dorcas on her phone with a bright smile on her face, Reg practically falls on the couch.

“I can’t with him anymore!”

“Who?” Both twins ask, Dorcas is the one to answer.

“James”
Evan turns to Reg. “Did he do something wrong?” The shorter man covers his face with his hands and lets out an irradiated groan. And he takes a box out of his pocket and shoves it in Evan’s hands, he opens it and sees a silver locket with a clock on the front, Evan opens the locket and sees a picture of a black cat and a stag,
Pandora let out a gasp from behind him as on the front where the clock is, is the Leo constellation with the heart of the lion being close to the sun.

“Our anniversary was on August 23rd and we were both busy with work so we didn’t do anything and he felt bad so you know what that abobsolute ass did?”
Dorcas’s smile grew while Pandora kept looking at the Locket.

“He woke me up this morning at nine with pancakes and this”
He gestured to the locket. Dorcas giggled.

“Do you wanna know what makes it so special?”
Asked Cas, both Evan and Pandora nodded.

“From the 22 to the 23rd of august, the star Regulus is closest to the sun”
Pandora ‘Awed’ while Evan fake gagged.

“You know what’s even better? Reg told him this back in his Fifth year and Reg’s fourth”

“He remembered all that while I can't even remember how much I got on my first exam?”
Evan exclaimed. Handing the box back to Regulus.

“I know right! And guess what this little gremlin did? He just left and came straight to my place after he told me what happened Marls ended laughing on the floor so we had to leave”

“So are you gonna do anything for him?”
At this point Reg’s face down on the floor, he let out a muffled ‘I don’t know’.

“Okay Reg I have an Idea”
Pandora pulled Reg back onto the couch and made him face Evan.

“Ev helped me plan my anniversary”
Evan sighed.

“The first time was free-” he said looking at his twin, he then turned to Reg and asked “Tell me about him”
He didn’t have to think so he just told Evan everything about James and he was very tempted to say ‘just give him anything and be done with it’ but he got an idea.

“Okay, how long have you guys been dating?”

“Since graduation, so…Seven years? Why?”
Evan smiled and once he told them the plan everything was set they all got in Evan’s car and drove to the arts and crafts store and picked up somethings, while they were driving Reg made two calls one to Sirius telling him to round all of their friends up and meet them at the place and another to James telling him the exact time and place where the two should meet,
Once everyone got there they started setting up.

A few hours later James showed up, the place Evan picked was the same place Reg and James had their first date, it was a park originally this park was a place for meteor showers, so to improvise they decorated it with fairy lights with the park owners permission of course, and Evan has no idea when she had the time to get it but Pandora brought her violin, and once James was in sight she played ‘Take a chance on me’.

Everyone was hiding–except Pandora–as James and Reg had a very short conversation. The reason for it being short was because Reg had got down on one knee, from the left of him Evan heard Sirius giggle or was that Teddy?

James the puppy dog ass obviously said yes, and everyone jumped out throwing the two with confetti, this has had to be the happiest Evan had ever seen the couple, unsurprisingly Marlene brought drinks, and this whole thing turned into an engagement party

The next morning he got a text from Reg telling him that he owes him, Evan smiled down at his phone and sent him a smiley face and a thumbs up but that’s not why he was smiling,

In the middle of replying Evan saw something in the reflection of the window, he played the video again.
It looked like a dead body, he shook his head, it can’t be right? Whatever it was Evan didn’t wanna find out this wasn’t some dark romance crime novel thing, no this was real life, he might just be seeing things due to lack of sleep, another thing he can blame his sleeping habits on is the text he just sent.

Ev: Cute name, on another note; do you wanna go out again next weekend? Maybe Saturday?

Why did he type that? He honestly couldn’t tell you, maybe a part of him just wanted to see Barty again.

B: Movie at eight I pick you up?

B: Okay see you then :)

If Evan was being honest he didn’t like people very much, he had to like Pandora because sadly she was his sister, Reg and Siri are his cousins so that’s a no brainer, Remus and James are extensions of them, Emmeline gives him free stuff and Mary is her girlfriend, Dorcas is well Dorcas, Marlene is just fun to be around, and Peter has the good weed but there is one person he doesn’t spend a lot of time around and that’s Lily.

Don’t get him wrong, he likes her and kudos to her for putting up with Pandora for so long, why was he talking about his sister’s girlfriend?
Well this morning [note: it’s friday a day before Evan’s date] at five yes five he got a call from his sister telling him to meet her at ‘The tarot antique store’ down the street from his apartment, when he asked what time she said ‘eight’, so he slept for two hours before he got a call from Sirius telling him his husband hates him, turns out he meant to call Reg, when that was over he fell back asleep for all about five minutes before James called him asking if water’s wet,
He obviously said no hung up and before he knew it it was eight, so he got up, got dressed, got a free cup of pity coffee from Emmeline, and made his way to the antique shop.

When he arrived Lily was there looking as confused as he felt, before he could go up to her he got a text from Pandora.

Pa: You sir just got played.

Ev: It’s too early for this shit, where are you?

Pa: Listen here numbnuts, that beautiful ginger goddess is my world.

Pa: And I noticed you guys never spend time together, so I’m giving you a chance to bond be grateful, maybe she could help you pick an outfit for your date tomorrow.

Ev: How did you know I have a date?

Pa: *Sigh* I’m Pandora Rosier, I know all.

Ev: I know you did not just type “Sigh”

Pa: You did too, also please do this for me?

Pa: I just want my two favourite people [minus Reg] to get along without me being there, so just try?

After putting his phone away he walked up to her, she smiled at him after putting her phone away too, well let’s hope this goes well.

Three things:

One; Strawberry Ice cream is the best.

Two; The Song Of Achilles is one of the saddest books known to humankind.

And Three; If Pandora doesn’t marry Lily Evans he will disown her.

At first he thought this was gonna be a disaster [did I just do a song ref?], but it turns out hanging out with Lily is really fun, they bought a few things from the antique shop, Lily bought a few books, a few jars and tiny bottles, a silver pocket watch and a moon locket with all the stages of the moon inside,
Evan bought an old camera, some books, cologne bottles and a stained glass box, Next they went to a Ice cream shop where Lily introduced him to strawberry Ice cream, they then stopped by at Remus’s bookstore, and they gave each other recommendations,

For Lily he recommended; The tell-tale heart by Edgar Allen Poe, The song of dark by Bryn Suddarth and Red white and royal blue by Casey MacQuiston.

And he got; The seven husbands of evelyn hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, The song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and No longer human by Osamu Dazai.

After bothering Remus a little more they ended up at Emmey’s where Evan was telling her embarrassing stories of Pandora from when they were younger.

“--The first boyfriend she got had this weird obsession with leafs”
She snorted.

“Hold on actual leafs? Like from a tree?”
He nodded.

“What did he do with them?”

“Apparently he made her dress up like one and he called her his ‘Little leaf’, then she had to-”

“Hey guys”
He heard his sister call, she strode up to them and kissed Lily on the cheek, she then sat down in the chair in between them.

“Having fun?”
Lily giggled.

“So much fun My little leaf”
Pandora froze, she then shot Evan a glare. “You told her that” Evan shrugged.

“If it makes you feel better I didn’t tell her about the time you had a crush on your english teacher in first year”

“Professor Lincoln!”
Lily exclaimed and Evan nodded with a proud smile and Pandora sat there Fuming.

“You have ten seconds to run”
And run he did.

Later when he was walking to his apartment room, he couldn’t shake the feeling someone was following him,
but every time he turned nobody was there, when he made it to his door he heard it; someone breathing loudly behind him,
He swallowed hard, the person behind him extended their hand, handing him a medium sized box with a note attached to it, he took it and the person walked away. Instead of looking where they went he got inside and locked the door.

He looked at the note, it read; I saw your fun little day today, why wasn't I invited? It’s fine I know you’ll make it up to me, Just you and me forever my love.

Evan swore his heart stopped when he looked inside the box. There were probably over a hundred pictures of just him leading back till his third year, anyone else in the photos faces were blacked out, and on some of them he saw hearts drawn on his face.

He felt sick, on top of the pictures was a handmade voodoo doll that looked like him and there were so many…things stuck in it, he heard a sob escape his lips he dropped the box and ran into his bedroom.

He didn’t know when, but at some point he managed to fall asleep…
