Chapter 2
Defence against the dark arts is a very tense lesson for Sirius all of his friends were staring at his and Remus' intertwined hands like he caught the plague, Remus noticed this and just ignored the stares and walked Sirius to his seat next to James, Lily took that as a sign to leave the boys alone and got up from her seat between Peter and Remus but not before glaring at Sirius. "Lily stop glaring at him I love you but this is getting out of hand. That goes for everyone to." Lily was embarrassed at getting caught normally Remus doesn't notice but nodded non the less the rest of the group hung their heads in shame. After the long defence lesson Remus packed both his and Sirius' bags and walked out the dungeons straight to Herbology, they have this lesson with the Slytherins so Sirius wanted to be in a group with his brother, Remus didn't care about what group he was in as long as he could keep an eye on Sirius. "Moony? Are we not going to be a group of three?" Peter asked quietly intentionally ignoring Sirius, Remus shook his head at his shorter friend and walked over to where Sirius and Regulus were. Peter was shocked and hurt at this, Remus had gotten quite close with him when he wasn't speaking to Sirius and now that he's talking to Sirius again it annoyed him, yes he's happy that his friends are talking again but, Sirius and him were never close he needed to come up with a plan to get Sirius away from Remus for good.
Regulus saw the older boy walk over to him and his brother, not quite trusting him yet he stood protectively in front of Sirius. "Reggie, it's okay.. he's actually really good at herbology so we're lucky to have him in our group." Sirius rubbed his younger brother's back as he spoke, Regulus hesitated but moved out the way still standing close to Sirius just in case. His older brother was right, Remus was amazing at Herbology, Regulus started to tone down the protective brother stance about twenty minutes into the lesson, he even cracked a couple of jokes with Remus, Barty and Evan looked up from their work to see their black haired friend laughing, even Pandora cracked a smile at the sight, Sirius finally felt good enough again. The bell enchanted it's ring signalling the end of herbology and lunch time, the black brothers and Remus decided they were going to eat lunch together, James and Peter walked up to the trio "Remus. Can we eat lunch with you guys?" Remus looked at James then at Peter and nodded "As long as you don't be a dick to Sirius. You have to remember we were his only support network." Remus said sternly leaving no room for arguments, the boys all walked to the great hall together sitting at the Gryffindor table, Sirius was nervous about eating in front of James and Peter for some reason he's been eating in front of them since first year.
Remus was digging into his pie when he noticed Sirius wasn't eating he looked at Regulus who had also noticed this, Remus did the one thing he knew would help the dog animagi he placed his hand on his thigh, Sirius noticed this and smiled taking a bite of his chicken leg it was a small bite but a bite non the less, Regulus and Remus smiled at each other taking the small win from the boy. "Can we go to the Library?" Sirius asked, Remus nodded "You coming Regulus?" Regulus nodded and with that the trio left, leaving James and Peter alone. "We never should of ignored Sirius the way we did." James said guiltily, Peter scowled but nodded. "We'll talk to him, tonight when he and Remus return to the dorms." Peter suggested, James nodded in agreement making it his mission to finally apologise to Sirius even though he shouldn't really be forgiven but it's not James' place to decide it's Remus'
A few hours pass Remus and the black brothers were still in the Library, just chatting and reading the odd book, until Regulus spoke. "Don't you guys have History of magic next?" Remus stopped reading the book and nodded packing his and Sirius' things as Sirius said good bye to his brother and gave him a quick hug promising that he'll spend time with him that weekend treating him to a trip to Hogsmeade and with that the couple left the Library and straight to history of magic where James and Peter were already sitting at their usual table.
Time skip to night
The common room was dark apart from the odd candle that was still burning, Sirius was falling asleep against Remus. "Remus, me and wormtail need to talk to you and Sirius." The werewolf nodded and gently shook Sirius awake. "Speak then, we don't have all night and Sirius hasn't slept a wink since he left the dorms." Remus said sternly, James nodded and took a deep breath before speaking. "We want to apologise for how we treated you Sirius, I know you and you wouldn't of done this without a good reason and we just completely ignored you, I shouldn't of kicked you out of my house either that was also wrong of me, Pete you have anything to add?" Remus was furious with James he didn't know he kicked Sirius out. Peter shook his head. "YOU KICKED HIM OUT JAMES I DIDNT ASK YOU TO DO THAT." Remus screamed, James hung his head in shame, Remus took a deep breath to calm down before turning to Sirius, picking him up and walked out of the common room straight to their dorm, kicking the door open and walking straight to Sirius bed, casting a spell to change them both into their PJs and climbed into bed pulling Sirius close, within minutes the couple had fallen asleep.
