Chapter 7
Harry had planned to seek the help of an expert in ancient magic and runes, someone who could assist him in dealing with the enchantments he had uncovered. He remembered a book he had found on protection magic and complex enchantments, which included the address of an expert in London who could help him understand these spells and find a way to manage them.
With a new mission in mind, Harry prepared to leave the Leaky Cauldron and seek the necessary help. He knew that the battle against Voldemort wasn’t just about magical strength, but also about mental clarity and the ability to see beyond hidden manipulations and influences. He was determined to face this new layer of challenges with the same courage and resolve that had always guided him. So he made preparations to leave the Leaky Cauldron and head to a discreet location where he could consult the expert. He reviewed the documents he had found at Gringotts and searched for an address for the expert mentioned in the book on ancient magic.
The place was an old magic studio, located on a quiet street in London. When Harry arrived, the facade was modest, with a wooden sign carved with the name “Drake Wright – Consultant in Ancient Magic.” He took a deep breath and entered.
The interior of the studio was cozy, with walls lined with old books and magical artifacts. Drake Wright, a middle-aged wizard with graying hair and a wise expression, sat behind a desk, examining some scrolls.
“Welcome,” Wright said, looking up when he saw Harry. “How can I help you?”
Harry walked up to the desk and sat down. “I have a delicate situation. I’ve come across some enchantments and compulsions that have been placed on me, and I need help understanding and dealing with them.”
Wright raised an eyebrow and focused his attention. “Interesting. If you’ve encountered enchantments, it’s best we delve deeper. Can you show me what you’ve found?”
Harry explained the inheritance test and the results he had obtained. He showed Wright the documents and a summary of the enchantments and blocks he had discovered. Wright examined the scrolls and made a thoughtful expression.
“These enchantments are quite complex and sophisticated,” Wright said, with a tone of respect. “It’s rare to come across such a high level of magical manipulation. It seems someone went to great lengths to ensure your perceptions and decisions were directed in a specific way.”
“Yes,” Harry replied, frustrated. “And I don’t know who did this or why. I need a way to remove these influences without raising suspicion.”
“I understand,” Wright said, leaning forward. “We can use a counter-ritual to neutralize these enchantments. We’ll need to prepare a series of spells and enchantments to weaken and eventually remove the influences. However, this process must be done with extreme caution to avoid side effects.”
Harry nodded, relieved to have found someone who could help. “How long will this take?”
“Depending on the complexity of the enchantments and your ability to maintain focus during the process, it could take several hours,” Wright explained. “I’ll prepare the necessary ingredients and spells. In the meantime, it would be wise for you to avoid situations that might exacerbate things or cause the enchantments to manifest.”
“Okay,” Harry said. “And how much will it cost?”
“300 galleons,” Wright replied.
“Alright,” Harry said.
Wright and Harry prepared for the counter-ritual. The studio was transformed into a magical environment, with runes and symbols drawn on the floor. They gathered a series of magical ingredients and artifacts that would be necessary to neutralize the enchantments.
The ritual began with Wright reciting complex incantations and casting purification runes around Harry. He instructed Harry to stay calm and focused as the process unfolded. Harry felt a wave of energy surrounding him as the spells began working, gradually removing the external influences.
During the ritual, Harry noticed his perceptions starting to clear. It felt as though a mist was lifting from his mind, allowing him to see things with greater clarity and objectivity. The process was intense, but Harry kept his focus, following Wright’s instructions with determination.
Finally, after several hours of work, the ritual was complete. Wright stepped back, tired but satisfied with the result.
“The enchantments have been neutralized,” Wright said. “Your mind is now free from the external influences you mentioned. However, I recommend you remain cautious and keep a healthy level of vigilance over your own perceptions and decisions.”
“Thank you, Mr. Wright,” Harry said, relieved and grateful. “This was exactly what I needed.”
“You’re welcome, Potter,” Wright replied. “If you need further assistance in the future, don’t hesitate to reach out.”
Harry thanked him and said his goodbyes, leaving the studio with a sense of renewal and clarity. He knew there was still a path ahead to deal with what he had uncovered, but now he felt more prepared to face any challenge that came his way.
He returned to the Leaky Cauldron with a new perspective, ready to face his friends and any other situation that might arise, knowing his mind was now free from the manipulations that had affected his decisions and perceptions.
