year 3 or "Hairy, Harry, and Harrier got it"

Corvus was in the compartment across from where Remus slept, he almost walked into that compartment when he first got on but he didn't want to wake him up, he did however slipped a chocolate bar into the man's coat pocket before he slipped out to go across the train hall.

he smiled when he saw Adrian walk past the door window but thought better of speaking with him, Corvus did not have the emotional energy to deal with people, so he ended up trying to read the rest of the way to Hogwarts, and he may have been listening in on Adrian's compartment after he heard Harry going in, he completely forgot his book by the time Sirius black was mentioned.

then a whole dementor showed up, Harry passed out, then Adrian, and suddenly Corvus was waking up nearly 5 minutes later with a faint ringing and the sound of a woman screaming in his ears, Gregory Goyle was beside him, he had been walking down the hall when the dementor got on and saw him pass out, the Slytherin left soon after making sure he was okay, and weirdly making him eat chocolate, Corvus was still weirded out when he heard Harry waking up, Adrian mentioned having heard howling, Corvus decided hed have to ask about that later.

Corvus was sitting as the feast was starting and noticed the lack of Hermione at the Gryffindor table, and the general lack of blue hair at the Slytherin table, he attempted to ask Artemis as they had been friends only two years previously, however, she had made friends with the popular girls of their house and simply ignored him, he waited till after the feast to try and see if Goyle knew anything, he weirdly knew a lot for a guy everyone thought was incapable of basic thoughts, though sadly he knew nothing on this.

Corvus had exactly two 4th years of class, and of course, with his luck, he got both Weasley twins both classes, the classes were transfiguration and charms (he had asked charlie to borrow books and accidently read up a full year ahead, McGonagall had been thrilled, and Flitwick had been very smug about it)

So while Slytherin and Gryffindor 3rd years were in divination, and Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw 3rd years were in charms, Corvus Potter was stuck sitting next to Fred in transfiguration and trying not to die inside the whole class, an unfortunate byproduct of being dumb enough to have gotten a crush on the boy with the stupid jokes and pretty eyes.

Corvus was in the library, correction, Corvus was in the library with Daphne Greengrass, correction again, Corvus and Daphne where in the library together creepily watching through a very full shelf as Fred weasely talked with a girl called 'Maria Jacobs', according to Daphne anyway, they watched the two 4th years talk till Percy walked over and lectured them on snooping near the "good book" section, which just meant the part of the library with the legal books.

Corvus had connected that Remus was friends with James, mostly through Remus saying something odd that made in click. Anyway, he felt safe enough to stay in that class. The day before, he had walked through the forbidden forest alone. he wanted five minutes of peace away from everyone. He had been wandering through the forest area lupine wolves where known to be, and now he had a decent-sized scratch across his chest, among other such injurys.

Remus wasn't too talkative; he was mostly too busy grading papers. Corvus was busy getting some homework done that was due the next day. In all honesty, Corvus was only in the classroom because he didn't want to be alone. All his friends in Slytherin were out for Yuletide or Christmas, and he wasn't about to go anywhere near Petunia if he could help it. The boy had standards.

Corvus hadn't been able to fully get Professor Snape to help him find out who his parent made his godparent, but Snape had taken a sort of distant uncle role towards him, but that doesn't mean he didn't know who his Godfather was, he was simply biding his time until he knew it was safe.

petunia may have been the worst, but she lived near the only man Corvus ever saw as a father figure, and he was not going to let go of that and harry for a life that may be worse, not to mention the man had sever self essem issues that mostly came out in anger, even if he had recently started working on it. So Corvus waited, spending his time in Severus's potions room to learn about his mother and the rest of his time in Remus's classroom or the library looking into actant magic for reasons he refuses to tell anyone, even Daphne.

Corvus missed his usual free time in Remus's classroom he almost didn't notice since the full moon had just acured and he was still recovering himself. During dinner, Remus asked Madam Pomfry if she knew anything Corvus was in the hospital wing.

Poppy said Corvus had simply fallen a very rocky hill somewhere on the grounds. What Remus seemed not to notice was the fact that Pomfry had used that same tone of voice when telling his friends that same lie, not that it mattered, it probably meant nothing.

Corvus had decided to go to class, against Madam Pomfry's recommendation. he walked into DADA class, and they had Bogarts for the day's assignment. Corvus was in the class with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Griffindor was the day before, Adrian had very publicly had a bad time, Remus had moved the wardrobe the bogart was in into the classroom, he didn't explain why.

A few people went before Corvus, Someone had a clow with a knife that got turned into a doll of a clow with a knife, still creepy in Corvus's opinion, but who cares? Corvus was last in the lineup. He stepped up, and then it changed. Suddenly, a massive hairy beast was in front of him and standing over the unmoving body of Harry. Corvus was mortified and only managed to whisper the spell "ridiculous." It changed to a photo of him and Harry as children, smiling; the picture wasn't a real memory, Corvus knew that as he stepped away, it changed into smoke and returned to the wardrobe.

Corvus was quieter than normal after the class, not his normal quiet where he would snark at someone, or just be watching thing unfold, but more close to mutizime, pure silence, he didn't speak for nearly two days, it likely would have been longer had it not been for severus pulling him aside.

"Mr. Potter, stay back. I'll write a note for your next class. We need to have a conversation," Snape said as the rest of the class filtered out. Corvus simply stayed in his seat, still unnervingly silent. "Mr. Potter, you have been rather quiet the last few days. Do you want to talk about that?"

Corvus still didn't speak. His mind was still on the boggart, how it looked, the image of Harry dead on the ground, the image of the monster. The thing he knew was him, that he was a monster. He couldn't go home, even if Harry was fine. Aunt Petunia would kill him the second he so much as looked at Dudley if she found out.

Snape looked at him for a moment before hugging him, he was later told by the older man that he used legilamentcy on him out of concern, Corvus didn't care, he mostly worried where he would live, and how he would live, he was a freak, those where his first words in days, "Im a monster, and My aunts going to kill me because I'm a freak."

It took two more days till Corvus off-handedly mentioned to Snape that he was looking into ancient magics, though he didn't specify which magics or from which part of the world, just that he was doing it. He left for charms before Snape could ask any questions, which was unfortunate considering Corvus wasn't just looking at things but experimenting with spells and charms that hadn't been touched since the founding of Hogwarts.

It was likely for the best, no one could have stopped him, not even if anyone had entered the youngest Potter's form to find Daphne Greengrass drawing runes on a sheet and Corvus mixing a potion, both of them chanting quietly in a language older and far more dead than even Latin.

A woman that looked very much like the late Euphemia Gaunt-Potter at the age of 40 was found in Hogsmeade with the younger potter boy, and the second youngest Greengrass girl, all talking near the hogshead.

"So I can't believe I've been gone for nearly 12 full years, it feels more like a small nap than death." Euphemia or as she asked Corvus and Daphne to call her, Effie, said as she sipped on her tea, she wore a dark purple dress that Corvus had transfigured from one of his hoodies.

"Uh, this might be an odd question but, how far do you remember?" Corvus was more worried than curious, his parents died two days before her, he hoped that he wouldn't have to be the one to tell her that her only son was dead.

"I- the last memory I have is being told my son was dead, and that my grandsons would be given to their muggle aunt. I have nothing against muggle, I just thought she specifically was evil." Which was fair.

"do you know who I am to you? I'd understand if you didn't, I was only a baby, I'm just curious." Effie tilted her head at him as a smile spread across her face. "I know who you are Corvus Fleamont, you are my grandson after all, I'm glad to see your hair stayed like your grandfathers."

Corvus Nodded, "Right, glad to see you know me."

"Of course I do. Is it safe to assume Hadrian is more like his father and wasn't involved in my return?" "uh yeah, he doesn't even know I- we did this." Corvus correct himself when Daphne kicked him under the table, "Also My brother prefers to go by 'Harry', just so you know." Effie Nodded

"Not that this isn't a beautiful family reunion, but we did bring you back for a slightly more selfish reason than just the kindness of our hearts. We need something from you, if you are willing to hear us out?" Daphne said, politely interrupting.

"Alright, what do you need of me?" Corvus cleared his throat before speaking, "So , as I'm sure your aware, Petunia wasn't the kindest person when you met her, and she hasn't exactly gotten nicer. And then theirs the fact Daphne's family isn't much nicer, be were wondering if you could take back your title as 'lady Potter' and take us in until we are of age?"

Effie smiled "well, I could take you in, however, the title of 'Lady Potter' was from my marriage, and considering how long I was gone, I can't reclaim it, I can however reclaim my maiden name and title as 'Lady Gaunt'. And if I am to take you in you would take my name, and be my heir and spare, the title Gaunt has been dead far to long, and I need someone to carry it on once I am gone permanently."

"We can agree to that!" Daphne said immediately as Corvus Nodded. it made sense, Daphne was one of 6, and a girl, she would be lucky to get a to get anything once she was age, being a Gaunt was like being royalty, she could absolutely do that.

"Wonderful Corvus, I notice Harry isn't here, that was on purpose wasn't it?" Euphemia saw through him.

"I've looked, and asked, every crystal ball, every tarot card reading, every tea leaf read by a 12 year old seer, they all say the same, Harry is better off going with the guardian he gets this year rather than go with me, if I try to intervene, He will die, so I am not going to tell him, he barely talks to me anyway, so I doubt he'll notice if my name changes."

Later that week Corvus and Daphne where legally adopted by Euphemia Gaunt, who had recently gained back all the Gaunt' family's holdings. All under Harry's noses since he was dealing with Sirius, Remus and Snape bickering like children, and almost dying with Adrian, Ron, and Hermione, all of which Corvus was updated on by Adrian, since they had became rather good friends after The blue haired boy had started sharing his potion for wolfsbane.

Later in the week, Harry introduced Sirius to Corvus since they hadn't officially met.

"Hi, I'm Sirius Black." Sirius seemed nervous of Corvus for some reason, "Oh, the 'not killer', cool. I know who you are, have you told Harry that your his Godfather?" Corvus asked calmly even though some small selfish part of him hoped the answer was no, and that Harry could stay.

"Uh, yeah he knows, how exactly do you know that?" "I have connections, I hope you treat him well." Corvus said as he started to turn. "You do know I could take you in too? I'm not your godfather, but I could still adopt you, if you wanted?"

And hell it was tempting, temping to stay, to get a father, to stay with Harry, but he knew he couldn't, he knew Harry wasn't his family anymore, he's known since first year when Mrs Weasley made Harry a whole sweater, while Corvus barely got so much as a 'happy Christmas' from his own house mates, Corvus had known a long time that Harry was ment for a happier life, and that it wouldn't include him.

"No that, I'm good, I got people I can live with, outside my aunt and uncle, I'll be fine, have fun, I'ma go. Bye." Corvus as rudely as he could, before he walked off,  tears started falling as soon as he he turned the corner, he would have loved to stay, but if he did, it would only make things worse for Harry, now he, Francis, and Daphne had to go back to the Gaunt family Manor once the trains started leaving, it would be an interesting summer for the two children and amphitheatre (winged snake).
