Backstory, and first year

Hadrian "Harry" James Potter was born first at 10 p.m. (22:00) on the 31st of July with his mother's eyes and his father's face and hair, about four hours later his twin, Corvus Fleamont Potter,(who was named after Lilly's favorite constellation and James's father) was born with red and brown hair with small patches of white mixed in, he had his father's eyes and complexion but his mother's facial nose and face shape.

Cory and Harry lived with Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Cousin Dudley. Cory is treated only slightly better than Harry, if only because he reminds Petunia of all the best parts of Lily and only some of the evil of James, lucky for Cory he looked almost exactly like Lily, minus their father's Hazel eyes, the opposite of his brother, though that was thanks to the fact he had unintentionally made himself look more like their mother, most likely as a survival instinct as not to be treated the same as Harry had been.

It had somewhat worked as instead of living under the stairs with his brother, Cory got the closet down the hall of the first floor, it only held a bed and dresser, and it wasn't much better than Harry's situation with the cupboard under the stairs, but at least there wasn't mold and Dudley couldn't stomp on his ceiling as he could with the stairs.

On the day of the Twin's 11th birthday, Harry got a ripped pair of Dudley's old socks. Cory got a semi-glitchy Walkman music player from Dudley since his dad said he couldn't get a new one till he got rid of the old one. The only reason he gave it to Cory instead of throwing it out was most likely because his mother never outright hated Cory the way they did Harry. Later in the day, the situation with the letters happened, Cory had decided Hagrid to be an 'odd man' and 'far too tall' while they shopped.

Cory and Harry tried convincing Vernon and Petunia to let them go to Hogwarts.

"you would be rid of us for almost a full year, and wouldn't have to pay for our food, clothes, or anything else while we're living at the school." that was the perfect thing to say, Vernon looked like he just won the lottery.

"Fine. we have to take Dudley to a specialist for the tail that Ogre gave him anyway. Both of you go pack, and when you get there ask if they have a summer program." Vernon said before walking into the living room and turning on the TV.

Cory and Harry quickly packed everything they had, all Cory's things fit in a small bag, he didn't have that much, and Harry had even less, He did have to pack an owl though while Cory had no such problem as he said "we don't want to bring another unwanted creature in the house, aunt petunia barely wants us, Haz!" which practically fell on deaf ears with how little Harry cared.

As soon as the car stopped at the station Cory grabbed his things shoved them out and grabbed Harry's trunk for him he Jumped out about a second before Uncle Vernon slammed on the gas, it wasn't the first time they had been 'ditched', muggle school drop off was very similar, they were just happy no ones feet had gotten run over this time.

At the platform, Mrs Weasley helped them get to the train, after doing the mental math of her children when she saw Cory's red hair. Harry had decided that they should have separate compartments, if only because Cory had 'threatened' only to read the entire way to the school and ignore him the whole time, which in Cory's opinion was not a threat it was an option and a very nice one at that since it was a book on edible and medicinal plants in the wild and a book of poems, both of which the younger had found rather interesting.

Cory had been enjoying Edgar Allen Poe's tell-tale heart' when he heard knocking on the outside of the compartment door, he mentally made a joke about the lack of recent murders and a lack of guilt to drive him mad when the door opened, five children around his age waited at the door, a dark-haired girl (Pansy) with two brown haired boys (Crabbe & Goyle), a black haired boy (Blaise), and a white-haired boy (Draco). "Uh... Can we sit with you? the other compartments are full." The girl asked, acting far braver than she looked, Cory moved closer to the window and motioned for them to join him, "Yeah, come on in, I'm just reading some stuff. I'm Cory by the way, uh Corvus potter"

"Like Harry Potter?" the girl asked before the blonde boy interrupted "Are you related to 'the boy who lived'." Cory gave an awkward laugh, he was still getting used to the fact his brother was apparently famous, "Uh... technically yes, we share some family... and a last name..." 'plus parents, a mean aunt, and a burnt sock of an uncle.' Cory thought but didn't say, he didn't know these people yet and wasn't willing to sacrifice Harry to some fans, he'd barely tolerated it when random people bowed to him or did some other weird stuff.

"That's kind of cool. Though I didn't think the Potters had many left, especially since James Potter was an only child and died before 21, I guess Harry could probably have a son or two eventually, though..." the shorter brunette (Crabbe) said before the taller one (Goyle) elbowed him. "Stop being weird about their extended family. It's creepy, and they don't even know our names, Crabbe."

The girl looked like she had just been shocked as she shot her hand out to Cory. "Right! My name is Pansy Parkinson. The blonde is Draco Malfoy, the one who actually looks like he's seen the sun is Blase Zabini the short one is Vincent Crabbe, and the tall troll you see before you is Gregory Goyle."

"Troll? I'll give you tall because he certainly is, but I don't see the 'trollness'?" Goyle looked uncomfortable, "nice of you to say, but I know I'm not that good-looking." Cory shrugged "Maybe not, but you're not exactly ugly, you're very average honestly, and I've seen worse-looking people, and I've befriended worse-looking people."

Cory had only talked for maybe one of the three hours of the train ride. The rest of it was spent reading and occasionally talking to Goyle about the books when he asked a question. For the most part, the taller boy just looked over Cory's shoulder to read along with him.

Once the train stopped and everyone flooded out onto the platform, all the first-years were herded onto the boats, Harry and the red-haired boy Mrs Weasley had called 'Ron' got in a boat together, Blaise and Draco got in their boat, and just as Parkinson and Crabbe, leaving Cory and Goyle to go to their ship. All the first years got over the lake just fine, then they went in the front door as many years of 11-year-olds had done before, they all sat through Professor McGonagall's speech on the houses, some listened in awe, mostly the muggle-borns and half-bloods, some ignored her, the purebloods mostly since they had heard similar things from their parents, Cory was only kind of listening, he was somewhat distracted by Crabbe and Goyle's talking.

The doors to the great hall opened and the herd of pre-teens walked in passed the tables of other students, up to where Professor McGonagall stood next to a stool and holding a hat. Professor McGonagall called name after name, each child walking up, sitting down, wearing the hat, then getting sorted and sent off to their new houses, Harry was called just before Cory, it took a few moments but he was sorted into Gryffindor with the Weasley boy, 'they will probably get along well enough' was the only thought to cross Cory's mind before his own name was called "Corvus Potter." Cory walked up, sat in the old and slightly wobbly chair, and let Professor McGonagall place the odd-smelling hat on his head.

"Hmm, intelligent but also ambitious, quick-witted, and resourceful. Hmmm? Ravenclaw or Slytherin? Where to put you?" the hat said softly as if talking to itself, "Are you asking me?" Cory asked the Hat, still somewhat confused by the talking headwear, "Not at the moment, Boy." the Hat said before mumbling something Cory thought might have been a dead language, but for all he knew it was just German since all he knew of speech was English and maybe a phrase in Spanish. "Ravenclaw!" the hat yelled, apparently having decided, Professor McGonagall gently pushed Cory towards the Blues House's table after she took the hat back from his head

It was Halloween, Cory had only a month in Hogwart, three weeks more than the new transfer student from America, he was in Slytherin with five other first years Cory had decided to be friends with, he liked Adrian, the boy seemed nice, and it was kinda funny how he talked back to the teacher's if they said something ridiculous but was otherwise respectful.

a good portion of Cory's time outside of class is spent with the Slytherins he befriended on the train, mostly out of boredom, or making sure Harry is okay since he's still new to the whole being famous thing.

The day had been relatively calm, Classes were cut short for the holiday, and the fest was lovely, Cory was a little bored thanks to the fact his friends, his brother, and his brother's friends were all at different tables than him, making the meal boring, and very quiet for him, like every other meal, usually, he'd appreciate the deafening silents the peace, but after a couple of weeks it felt suffocating kind of lonely.

Cory was ripped from his thoughts as Professor Quirrel ran into the great hall screaming about a troll, all the students were told to go back to their common rooms, and the youngest potter was just about to when he noticed Harry and Ron Weasley running down towards the bathrooms, then a blur of blue hair running after, Adrian Brown, and suddenly Cory was wishing he was back to being lonely and bored, cause at the moment he is looking at his brother, his brother's friend, and the new kid all trying to fight a troll, you could say he had feelings about that, all of them being Panic, they got it down, not easily, and the thing was still groaning and twitching when they started talking. the troll started getting up, and Cory instantly shot a sleeping charm at it, almost on instinct, before turning to glare at his brother.

they all heard the thud, Harry saw Cory and tried to explain, but the younger potter was mostly too annoyed to let it happen. "I do not want to hear whatever excuse you might have, you ran towards a troll, and nearly got two other people killed-" Cory then noticed Hermione, "Make that three, Seiriusly Harry? I do not need to loose anymore family! You're not leaving my sight for the rest of the year, you moron!" he was kinda upset but mostly happy Harry was alive.

Cory was in the library trying to do his charms homework. A Slytherin girl Cory didn't know too terribly well walked over to him, where he sat quietly. "You, red-haired boy, you are a potter, right?" Cory looked up at the blonde girl. "Yes? And you're a Greengrass, what of it?"

"There is nothing of it, I was just asking, I am Daphne Greengrass, and we haven't officially met, Your name is Cory, yes? I saw you talking with Malfoy and Parkinson the other day, I wanted to get to know you." Cory tilted his head at her like a bird (or a cat), "its Corvus, and You want to know me because I talk to Pansy and the snarky ferret?" Daphne giggled at the comparison, "more like because you are talking to the closest thing Hogwarts has to royalty, but I suppose you're not wrong." the Slytherin and Ravenclaw continued talking for a while, Cory actually laughed a few times (twice, and one of them was because Draco was passing by and fell into a bookshelf).

Cory was in Transfiguration class, it was just the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, and they were going over a few different things, mostly a 'Metalter' rock (Meta stone), according to Professor McGonagall the rock was one of the only things in the wizarding world that could force a metamorphmagus into their original form (birth form). the small stone was going to be passed around the room. Nymphadora Tonks, a 6th year at the time, was sitting on a stool at the front of the room as a way to avoid detention with Snape and because Mcgonagall asked them to help demonstrate to the first years.

The rock was being passed around, and then it got to Cory. His face shifted to having his father's complexion but kept his mother's nose, his hair turned brown and white with the normal red hair, not to mention it twisted to be curlier than Harry's. The normally redhead freaked out and accidentally threw the rock at Tonks, who looked thrilled as Cory's face returned to the face he wore when he entered the class.

"Nope, I'm ignoring the hell outta that," Cory mumbled to himself for about a minute before McGonagall dismissed the class. "Not you, Mr. Potter. I believe Miss Tonks wishes to speak with you about today's class," McGonagall said before she stepped out of the room.

"Is she supposed to do that, we have 10 minutes left in class?" Tonks walked over and sat across from the younger boy "Honestly? no clue if she's 'supposed' to do it, but who in their right mind is willing to tell her not to do it? Anyway, back to you sunshine, how are you doing?"

"Uh... That's a loaded question. today? I'm fine-ish, I just found out I don't actually look like my mom naturally, and that I'm even more of a freak than everyone already thinks... So, I guess I'm as good as we're gonna get?"

"First off, not a freak, just rare, I'm a metamorphmagus as well, so my dad, and I think it's rather neat, I can change my hair with my mood, though I do prefer short and pink, and I can change my face to get out of detentions, most of the time," Tonks said somewhat jokingly.

"Would you teach me? How to change my look I mean, the whole 'face of my mother' thing wasn't exactly intentional." Tonks nodded, "Sure, but first I need to borrow you to give my friend, Charlie, a stoke."

"Why and how?" Cory asked somewhat concerned, "Why? It'll probably be really funny. How? I plan to tell him you're either my little brother or cousin, probably cousin because he would freak out if he thought there was another me."

Cory nodded, agreeing to the plan, "If you want you could introduce me by my full first name... I heard your family mostly has star-related names?" Tonks tilted their head but agreed, "Yes, they do, what's your name?"

"Corvus, it means crow.." Corvus said with a small smile, it was the only part of his name he actually liked as he hated his nickname, "Corvus it is then. This is gonna be great." Tonks said with a grin

Tonks was grinning like a Cheshire cat, Corvus had figured out how to turn his hair pink like theirs. Tonks continued smiling as Corvus followed them to the courtyard, Charlie was outside since it was a free period for the first and sixth years, he was reading a journal on dragon species, which he had already read nearly 14 times.

"Charlie!" The second eldest Weasley nearly fell off the wall he had sat himself on, "Yes tonk? Who's the kid?" *He said as he noticed Corvus.

"Hmm? Oh, this is Corvus, he's a Metamorphmagus too, and my cousin." Charlie looked like a confused puppy, "Cousin? I didn't know you had any cousins... He's not Bellatrix's right? If he is we are sending him to therapy!" Tonks only held it together for another minute before she started giggling

"Wait are you... Oh, you're messing with me, who's the kid?" "Corvus Fleamont Potter, she offered to teach me Metamorphmagus stuff if I help mess with you," Corvus said as his hair turned to the calico look he had naturally.

"Wait couldn't your pare-... He was about to say 'Couldn't your parents just explain, then he realized the last name, "Your Harry Potter brother?" Corvus awkwardly shrugged then nodded, "Got It, uh... Yeah... Tonks can help you with Metamorphmagus junk and I'll help you with homework or general wizardry stuff you missed out on with you and your brother living with muggles, sound good?"

Corvus smiled at him "Sounds good, thank you, Charles." Charlie made a face but didn't correct him

It took less than a month before Charlie and Tonks dragged Corvus into one of their pranks. It was a weekend, so it's not like Corvus had any reason not to help.

Charlie and Tonks were in the potion store room, planting a motion-activated glitter bomb, while Corvus was sitting on one of the rafters of the hallway ceiling to keep watch. He noticed Fred and George Weasley walking down the hall, so Corvus, being somewhat bored and wanting to test out new faces, shifted his face to one of a hellhound and jumped down. He received two screams from the twins for his efforts.

Corvus laughed in a way that sounded so freakishly like James Potter, that it made McGonagall freeze as she heard it two floors up. The Ravenclaw boy then walked to the door Charlie was behind, "Charlie, two of your brothers are here." he said as he turned his face back to normal.

"Which ones?" Was the only response, "Fredrick and George." Charlie looked his head out wearing both a confused face and a bit of glitter that had escaped the bomb. "Freddie, Georgie, Hi." Charlie said as he coughed up a bit of glitter.

"Why did you call me 'Fredrick'?" Fred asked, after nodding to Charlie to not ignore his brother, "It is your name, yes? Unless 'Fred is short for 'Alfred' or 'Wilfred'?." George snorted.

Fred elbowed his twin before answering, "No, you were right, just most people call me Fred." Corvus tilted his head at the older boy, "Those are usually your friends, or people you know somewhat well, we don't know each other well enough for me to call you a nickname."

"You call George his name?" "Is George short for something?" "no, just think it's odd, feels like I'm being singled out."

"That wasn't my intention, if you'd rather I can simply call you both by your surname, though I feel saying 'Weasley' as a single name is more likely to cause more confusion with how many of you there are. or simply I could just call George 'Georgie'?" Corvus said in an even tone.

George wheezed out a laugh, as did Charlie, "No, all I will end up thinking of is that clown from that muggle book, you can not call him that." Tonks shouted as she shoved Charlie out the door of the room. "Done?" was his only response to the forceful push, "yeah, everything with be very ruined when that door is opened."

Corvus shrugged as he started walking towards a very specific wall, "Oi, Birdie. where you off to?" Corvus tapped the wall as he simply said, "The wall is buzzing." before the wall opened into a hallway, "Oh, secret corridor... again, fifth one this week." Corvus almost sounded dejected.

the wall reclosed as he walked back, "So that's how you do your disappearing act when we try asking questions?" Corvus shrugged before as if for no reason, his face lit up, and he walked over to the wall near Tonks and scooped a snake off the wall, it was a black and white amphithere ( amphithere look like ball python when they're babies)

"Charlie! Look it's Snake!" Corvus said as he held it up to Charlie, tonks was the only one not to lean away, "Oh, that's a ball python, someone must have let a pet one out and it bred out here, they're not native to the UK." Charlie looked at tonks like they had three heads. "how the hel- Heck... how the heck do you know that?" Charlie said as he tried not to swear even though his brothers had already started leaving and were mostly out of earshot

"you don't have to censor yourself, I know how to say fuck." Tonks snorted at the deadpan face Corvus said it with. "I was trying to censor for my brothers, our mother doesn't like any of us swearing, does your aunt not care?"

"No she does, I've just learned to dodge when she throws plates and frying pans at me." Charlie nodded as he tried to hide the concern from his face, "Right... does your brother deal with that too?" Corvus shrugged, "Not really, he mostly just gets locked in his room for a few days, the only reason I don't get locked in mine is cause I usually run away for a few days. We got one nice American guy who moved in a couple of years back when I was only three or four, he lets me stay at his sometimes when I don't wanna stay in the forest."

"Oh... that explains your accent, uh makes you sound like a southern American, if it went for looks I'd assume you and the new transfer student Adrian would be related..." Charlie said as he tried to change the topic, making it more awkward. "Anyway, the snake, their name is Francis, and I'm keeping them as my pet" Corvus said as he started walking toward McGonagall's office, both sixth years followed after him, and Tonks began singing "We are off to the professor, professor McGonagall of Gryffindor" to the tune of 'we're off to see the wizard' from The wizard of oz.

Once they got to McGonagall's office, Corvus placed Francis on his shoulder before he knocked on the door. As they waited for the door to open, Charlie asked the smallest of the group a question, "So Birdie? Why McGonagall? Flitwick your head of the house, and if not him, Dumbledore is the headmaster, why McGonagall?"

"Cause she's in charge, plus if you saw how she and Dumbledore act together, you'd know she is the reasonable one, he's just here, and somewhat powerful... plus I respect her more, and Flitwick is out today." the door opened, McGonagall was in the doorway and looked like she might laugh...or cry, Corvus didn't know.

"Hello professor, question, can I keep a snake as a pet at school?" "Well I see no issue with it, but you would have to take it home with you, so the real question is would your aunt be okay with it, and I think we both know the answer to that?"

Corvus nodded. "Okay... counter question: Could you adopt me so I can keep Francis?" "You've named it already?" Corvus looked at her confused. "No, that's just their name. They told me. I'm not going to name something that already has a name."

"Oh...?" McGonagall seemed confused before it clicked, "Oh, you're a Parseltongue, I didn't realize. Anyway, to answer your question, no I can't adopt you, however, I could help you find out who your godparent is since from what I know, you and the other Mr potter have different ones... probably for the best considering... nevermind that, the point is I can help you."

After the conversation and the agreement that Corvus could at the very least keep Francis till the end of the year. Corvus ended up going back to his dorm room, he didn't have a roommate, he was supposed to but the boy who was going to be got transferred to Durmstrang during the first week.

Corvus was looking through two books he had found in the school library, the 1975 yearbook and the 1924 yearbook, he was looking through them to see what his mum and dad looked like, along with what his dad's parents looked like, he looked through the book and found that his grandmother Euphemia was apparently from the family Gaunt, and in the margins of the page was written "the American branch" though that meant very little to him, he did like that he naturally had her eyes, similar to his father, though her hair was a light brown, which had not been passed down to anyone yet.

Corvus then flipped to the page his grandfather Fleamont was on, he only looked because he was named after the man, plus morbid curiosity. his grandfather had hair like him, minis the red of course, but it had a similar pattern to it with the brown and white bits, it was nice to know where his hair color came from.

Corvus then looked through the other book, he froze when he saw his father's face, it was just Harry but a bit healthier, harry was thinner in the face, and had green eyes, other than that it was just copy paste, nearly no real difference in the face, it was creepy, Corvus flipped through the book he got to his mother's page, he had done rather nice in mimicking her face up until this year, especially considering he hadn't ever really seen her face till that moment.

Corvus then saw a group photo with his mother in it, a dark-haired, hooked-nosed boy next to her smiling, and on the other side a black girl with fluffy hair, there were names at the bottom, "Elladora Black, Lily Evans, and Severus Snape, the multi-house friendship most likely to last" his mother had a red scarf, the brunette girl, 'Elladora' had a yellow scarf, and Snape wore a green one, Corvus couldn't think of a single time Proffeser snape had smiled, this might've been why, he was still mourning a his friends.

then Corvus got an idea, not to cheer up the potion master, he wasn't stupid, the man glared at him as if he killed Snape's cat, and Corvus didn't want to spend more time with him, no he thought of the fact that Snape might know who his godparent is, or at least know someone who might.

Corvus had spent nearly a full hour looking through the yearbooks, not just to see the family he would never meet but also to try to copy some faces, Tonks said it was good to practice, his face didn't change much when he looked like his grandfather, well not much other than his nose and the lack of red in his hair, it wasn't to bad, he liked how his smile looked and imagined it was how Fleamont smiled, it was nice enough, and Francis stated "it's a pleasant smile for a rather pleasant face" which was nice of them to say.

While flipping through the yearbooks and talking to Francis, Corvus devised a plan. The end goal was to keep Francis and leave his aunt's home. Step one was to use Snape's connection to Lily against him without causing issues, which Corvus would need a plan to get to that point.

Corvus started his plan the next day since potions were his last class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. He walked to class with Gregory Goyle and Daphne Greengrass like he did every other day. Pansy Parkinson was in transfiguration with Draco and Blaise Zabini, and Vincent Crabbe was in muggle studies.

As soon as the class started, "Everyone, we are doing a group project, it is simple enough that I'm sure even most of you can pass, you will be making one potion we have learned this year with a partner of my choosing. Mr. Goyle and Miss Greengrass, Mr. Rivers, Miss Hale Mr. Smith, and Miss Jones, separate in two groups, and make the Cure for Boils potions, without burning a hole in any of the cauldrons."

Snape then turned to the other half of the class, "Mr. O'Conner, Miss Rogers, Mr. McGown, Miss Hawkins, Mr. Potter, and Miss Edwards, you will be working on the Forgetfulness Potion in pairs of two as well. Go you all have one hour, and then I will be inspecting your work." Everyone paired off, leaving Corvus with a Peculiar ravenclaw girl named Artemis Edwards, but she seemed nice and was one of maybe four people to have an O in potions who wasn't Slytherin so Corvus didn't care.

Corvus and Artemis were one of two groups to have finished the potion without getting insulted in the process, (part 1 of 'Get Snape to Like You So You Can Ask Questions' successful)

Snape had sat quietly at his desk grading papers from the week before quizzes, he seemed unimpressed by the grades. Corvus had finished up the last few steps before they had to let it simmer, "Will you quit string it like that, You're going to pour out the whole thing." that's what the the girl behind Corvus said to the boy she paired up with before their cauldron of boiling potion fell and was dumped onto Corvus's back, Artemis was only fine for the fact she needed something out of her bag.

Corvus didn't scream or cry when the Forgetfulness Potion burned his back. He barely flinched. He kept as calm as he could while holding the table with a death grip, all while Snape looked horrified. "Emh... I'm gonna go to see Madam Pomfrey in the hospital wing... I'll make up the missed class at a later time, Professor," Corvus stated as sedately as he could manage.

He sniffled as any other child would have,  He was still only eleven, He walked out of the classroom and very barely got to the hospital wing.

"Madam Pomfrey?" He questioned to the air as tears fell down his face, Madam Pomfrey walked out of her office, "Yes, Dea-" she was cut off by the sight of the burnt and soaked clothes and the fact Corvus still had steam coming off him.

"potion got dumped on me in Snape's class... Everything hurts." his voice broke slightly as he spoke.

Madam Pomfrey had Corvus bandaged up immediately, she did notice how he had a few more scars than she thought he would have, but decided not to ask, The last time she asked about scars she ended up attached to the child, she didn't want another remus lupin, no matter how much she loved that boy.

Corvus was wrapped up and Okay, or as okay as you'd expect a kid to be when they had second-degree burns across their back. "Madam Pomfrey?" the older woman looked up at the young boy calling her name, "Yes, My dear, everything alright?" Corvus nodded, "Yeah I'm okay, just wanted to ask if it'd be alright if I played my music here?"

"Sorry, dear. I don't have a record player for you to use in here." she said softly, as she continued cleaning up and refilling her emergency aid cart, "No, I have a Walkman music player, and headphones, I just wanted to check if it was okay?"

"I'm sorry dear, but I'm far older than you, what is that?" "It's a Muggle thing... like a pocket-sized record player, my cousin gave it to me." Madam Pomfrey tilted her head in confusion, "Muggle technology doesn't work on Hogwarts grounds." she said bluntly.

"my Waalkman does, probably cause it's held together by tape, magic, and prayers, but that's not the point, the point is, it works. it is okay if I use it?" Madam Pomfrey sighed, "I suppose, just don't be upset if it doesn't work for you."

He ended up listening to “Crazy Train” & “Mr. Crowley” by Ozzy Osbourne plus "Killer Queen" and "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen on loop for nearly two hours while he zoned out

Corvus was allowed to go to class the next morning under the condition he would come back after classes to check in. Professor Snape came in just before Corvus ran off to breakfast, Madam Pomfrey noticed him first, "Severus? Are you alright?" Corvus looked up next, "Professor? Did something happen?"

"No, ...I wanted to make sure if you would be joining the rest of your classmates today, or if I would be forced to assign one of them to give you your assignments?" Corvus shrugged and only slightly flinched at the pain, Madam Pomfrey looked upset at that since Covus had only just finished convincing her that he would be fine to go to class.

"No he will likely not be joining you or any other classes today, he can barely move, Severus. He has second and third-degree burns all across his back and the back of his legs, he can barely sit as is." she paused for a moment, "I'd appreciate it if you would tell his head of house and the others he won't be going anywhere but the great hall today

Severus nodded and left shortly after, if somewhat reluctantly.

It took almost four full days for Corvus to heal enough for Madam Pomfrey to let him go to class, McGonagall wasn't his first class, but she was the one other person who helped him keep up with all his classes, not just her's, which was nice of her., so he was helping her out since she asked.

Corvus was first to the class, Slytherin and Gryffindor first-years came in after. Corvus sat near the front of the class.  they were going over the 'Metalter' rock since they hadn't gotten to it yet (one of the only things in the wizarding world that could force a metamorphmagus into their original form.)

"Corvus, I am aware you are still healing from last week's potion accident, but would you be alright with being the example today?" "so you want me to hold a shiny rock for 20 minutes, and in trade, I get to skip muggle study? yeah sure." Corvus got up, stood in front of the class, and leaned against McGonagall's dest.

"Can you show some proof of being a Metamorphmagus, Corvus? not everyone here knows you." Corvus shrugged as he turned his hair to look like Blue fire and his eyes red. "Good enough?" McGonagall nodded.

Harry and Adrian Brown were in the third row, Harry was shocked since Corvus had neglected to actually tell him he was a Metamorphmagus, and Adriaan was just jealous that Corvus could just make his hair blue instead of having to bleach and dye it, mixed feelings at their table.

McGonagall handed Corvus the stone and his hair returned to the calico look, he soon got bored and started juggling it which kinda turned his hair into a strobe light. there was a free period after the class, so when it ended Harry stayed back to talk to Corvus

"So, Harry... what up buddy? you waited like 15 minutes for me to finish my convo with McGonagall." Corvus asked calmly, "Yeah, I need to ask you something, and since you are my brother, I hope you won't lie to me." Corvus looked confused before it clicked "You mad at the fact I'm a Metamorphmagus?"

"Obviously, Cory!" Harry yelled, "First off, it's Corvus, I have never liked that stupid nickname and you know that, and secondly, I wasn't aware of what I was till this year, and you would have known that if you spent less time trying to die and more time talking to me like you used to, I get that Weasley and Granger and like sibling to you, but I am your actual brother."

"I'm not talking to you about them, I'm talking to you about the fact you found out something I would have wanted to know, and then you didn't tell me!" "Fuck off Harry, You haven't spoken a full sentence to me since school started, next week is Christmas, you do the damn math! I don't tell you stuff cause you avoid me like the plague. you didn't even visit me while I was in the hospital wing, I was there for a week."

"I didn't visit 'cause I was busy with quidditch." "yeah, I know, you know how I know, I found out my brother was the youngest player in a hundred years not from you, but from Charlie." Harry paused, "Charlie? who's Charlie?" "Ronald's older brother, he's a 6th year I'm friends with, not the point."

"you know what, I'll talk to you later." "I'll talk to you Sunday, we are going to start meeting up more, we barely know each other."

It was Christmas, Corvus had agreed to spend it with Harry and his friends, and Granger had gone home like most of the school students. Harry was cleaning up his dorm while talking to Ron.

Corvus had been begrudgingly dragged into playing chess with Ron, "white pawn to 4A" Ron responded with "black pawn to G6" It continued like that for nearly an hour. then someone reminded them about gifts, and Harry mentioned how Mrs Weasley gave him gifts.

"She made you a jumper, and pudding? well, that was nice of her to give you that." Corvus hadn't been given anything, Fred perked up at that, "You make it sound like you didn't get one too."

Corvus looked confused at him, "That's cause I didn't, why would I? Your mother doesn't know me?" "Really, she made your twin brother a jumper, but not you?" Corvus just stared at him, "Fredrick, Harry is friends with Ron, it makes sense for him to get one."

"Okay and, your friends with Charlie, me, and George, you outrank him in Weasley-ness you should have a jumper too." "your very dramatic, you know that?" Corvus was attempting to change the topic, "It's part of my charm, that's not the point! why didn't she make you one?"

"do you know how long it takes to make one of those jumpers? months, I am not insulted that she didn't make me one, Harry's happy, I'm okay, move on, Dude." Fred pouted but dropped it, George looked like he might laugh, at what Corvus didn't know.

Two days before the holiday break ended, Charlie and the rest of Hogwarts were back. Corvus was dealing with Fred again, who complained that the lack of jumpers was odd. George was silently watching and being entertained.

Charlie came in during the tail end of it when Corvus snapped, "Fredrick Gideon Weasley, I swear to god! It is just a stupid jumper, and I am more than used to not getting gifts for holidays and birthdays, okay? it's fine." Both Charlie and Fred froze like statues.

"You've never gotten a gift before?" "First off, that's not what I said. Second, I got a broken music player for my birthday this year. I usually don't even get that much. Most of the time, Harry and I are lucky if we eat three days in a row. I'm not exactly crying over a lack of a jumper when, most of the time, I'm lucky if I don't pass out on my neighbor's porch on the days I escape."

Fred was too shocked to ask any questions, and Charlie had walked off to get something, he came back ten minutes later with a clump of knitted yarn that unfolded into a dark blue jumper with a red 'C' on it, far too small for charlie, and slightly too big on Corvus when the older Weasley shoved it on him.

"That was quite unnecessary, Charles..." Corvus remarked, glancing at the jumper with a smile. "But it's actually quite warm, so I appreciate it. Thank you." Charlie tousled Corvus's hair, adding, "Of course, you're like another brother to me."

Corvus was going down to the third floor late in the evening when he heard Harry and Hermione planning something not too long before everyone was expected to have lights out.

He was happy he had duplicated the invisibility cloak Harry had gotten. He followed them as they came across Adrian, and even though they locked the door, they went through the door under the massive dog, Corvus had to sleep charm it and shove it off the door before he followed.

Corvus then had to free-fall a couple of feet as the devil's snare tried piecing itself back together. He waited as they figured out wizard chess. Then, they said that everyone had to take the place of one of the players. Corvus, having played against Ron, took a rook so he wouldn't get hit.

He checked on Ron to make sure he was okay enough to be left, then ran to follow Harry and Adrian to the Potions and Fire, making sure they got through. He then went back to Ron and waited with him, all while still hiding under the cloak. He just waited, and when it had passed 20 minutes, he stepped back close enough to where the keys were that Ron couldn't see him. He took off the cloak and walked back over, pretending to be looking for something.

Ron groaned as he saw Corvus. Corvus calmly walked over, crouched down, and asked, "Where's Harry?" Ron pointed, Corvus nodded in the direction, and sat next to Ron, "Are you terribly hurt?" "Well, I fell 10 feet off a horse and got hit with statue pieces, what do you think?"

"I think if it weren't for the fact that Charlie would be disappointed in me, I would leave you here and go check on my brother, but he would be, so I'm here." It took another 40 minutes for some teachers to come in. It was Snape and McGonagall. They both looked disappointed.

"Do I want to know why you are all here, or should I just take points now?" Corvus saw a chance to either earn favor or guilt trip Snape, so he took it.

"I was trying to make sure Harry didn't die, even when he does dumb shit, I'd rather him be okay, My mother died for him, id rather it not be in vain." Snape made a face. He quietly walked over and helped Corvus carry Ron out as he had passed out. " McGonagall will handle your brother; He will likely be fine."

"what about Adrian? Hell, be okay too, right?" Snape only paused for a millisecond; he hadn't known Adrian was there too, "Likely yes. Are you friends with him?" "I'm trying to be"

At the end of the year, Corvus asked McGonagall to watch Francis for him 'just for the summer.' She agreed, and he would have to start up his plan to keep Francis next year
