The Gathering of Allies
The next morning, Harry awoke with a new realization. He couldn't accomplish this monumental task alone, nor could he rely solely on wizards and goblins. If magic was to survive on Astaria, he needed to gather allies from all walks of magical life—creatures, beings, and societies that, like him, were connected to the very essence of magic.
He wasted no time. With the goblins already on his side, Harry set out to visit the different magical creature habitats. He knew they too must be feeling the world's slow decay. If they could sense what was happening to the magic around them, they might be willing to join him in the journey to a new world.
His first stop was deep within the Forbidden Forest, where the Centaurs had long lived in secretive solitude. As Harry approached their clearing, he could feel their eyes on him from the shadows. After a few moments, a group of them stepped forward, led by the wise and formidable Firenze, whom Harry had known since his days at Hogwarts.
"You have returned to us, Harry Potter," Firenze said, his voice calm but tinged with urgency. "The stars have long foretold of this moment. You seek something more than a mere visit."
Harry nodded. "The world is dying, Firenze. The magic that sustains us all is unraveling. I've found a new place, a world where magic can thrive again. I'm offering you and the Centaurs a chance to come with us, to start anew."
Firenze gazed at the sky for a long moment before responding. "We have seen the signs in the heavens. The earth trembles, the magic weakens. We will come, for our destiny no longer lies with this world."
With a solemn nod, Harry thanked them and left, knowing the Centaurs would be a powerful and wise ally on Astaria.
Next, Harry made his way to the outskirts of Europe, where the Veela lived among the hidden valleys. Their leader, a striking figure named Sorina, met him in the midst of a great Veela gathering. The normally radiant creatures looked uneasy, their feathers and auras dimmer than he remembered.
"We feel it too," Sorina admitted as Harry explained his mission. "The magic that binds us to this world is fraying, and our power wanes with it. We are not meant for this broken earth anymore. If there is truly a place where we can live freely again, we will join you."
The Veela agreed, their elegance and fierce power now part of Harry's growing group of allies.
One by one, Harry visited the habitats of other magical creatures. The werewolves, led by Fenrir Greyback's more reasonable successors, Keldor Greyhawk, recognized that their kind was already persecuted, and as magic faded, they would suffer even more. They agreed to join Harry on Astaria, where they could build a society free from the stigmas of the past.
The vampires, ancient and wary, were more skeptical at first. Their leader, a regal vampire named Lady Seraphina Drakos, listened carefully to Harry's plea. "A new world where the sun does not scorch and the thirst for blood is not eternal—this sounds like a fantasy," Drakos mused, his dark eyes glinting. "But if it means survival, we will consider it."
Ultimately, even the vampires, seeing no other path for their survival, agreed to join Harry's cause.
The merpeople in the Black Lake, once wary of humans, were convinced after Harry presented the reality of the decaying magical environment that even the water creatures could not escape. Their leader, the majestic King Triton, agreed, saying, "We shall follow to where the waters will once again be rich with life."
Even the trolls, often underestimated for their intelligence, saw the logic in leaving behind a world that could no longer sustain them. Through diplomatic channels and careful negotiation, Harry gathered them, along with many other creatures, into the fold.
But Harry didn't stop there. He traveled across the globe, visiting wizarding communities in places like Egypt, North America, South America, and Asia. Some wizards, particularly those from more progressive or isolated communities, were quick to agree.
"We've always known the earth's magic was finite," said the head of a small wizarding village in the Andes. "If this Astaria is as you say, then we will follow."
But not all were willing to abandon the world they knew. In some places, wizards clung to their homes, their traditions. "We've lived here for centuries," one elderly witch from a European community said, shaking her head. "We'll survive this like we've survived everything else. We won't abandon what we know."
Harry understood their hesitation. The idea of leaving behind one's entire history was daunting. And while it saddened him to see some turn down the opportunity, he respected their choice.
As Harry continued his journey, he never stopped preparing. Between every visit to creatures and wizards, he made sure to gather more materials—food, enchanted objects, books of magic, even mundane supplies like seeds and building tools. Every item went into one of the trunks, tagged and organized.
By the end of the week, Harry's collection of allies had grown larger than he could have anticipated. From creatures to wizards, the magical world was beginning to unite behind the idea of a new start. It wasn't just about survival anymore—it was about preserving magic itself, protecting what was left of their way of life before it vanished forever.
Harry stood one evening in the library of Grimmauld Place, staring at the list of allies and resources he had gathered. The enormity of the task still weighed heavily on him, but now, he no longer felt alone. He had creatures, goblins, and wizards from all across the globe willing to follow him. The next step would be organizing the mass exodus—building the portal and ensuring that every magical being who wanted to leave could make the journey safely.
His mind buzzed with a thousand thoughts, but one thing was clear: they were one step closer to Astaria.
The new world was waiting, and soon, they would be ready to make the leap.
Harry took a deep breath and looked out into the quiet evening. The weight of leadership was heavy, but with allies by his side, he felt the spark of hope growing stronger.
The magical world was on the brink of a new dawn, and Harry Potter would lead them into it.
