Chapter 3
After dinner
Walking beside Narcissa I frown glancing at the portraits "Slytherin is the most hated house, a target for the others especially Gryffindor, that's why outside we stand together, any problems are dealt with in house, once it's addressed weather you win or lose it's dropped and forgotten".
Nodding I glance at her "stand up for yourself but know when you're outnumbered and remember this it's about traditions and loyalty".
"Why did you and Lucius pick us?" I ask.
"A couple of reasons, you're new but my family knows the Prince family, I remember them mentioning their daughter running off and abandoning traditions being known as a blood traitor, I recognized your last names"
"What's a half blood?"
"Pure bloods who have been raised on tradition since the start, blood traitors are pure bloods who abandon their heritage and traditions, half blood is someone who has a muggle or muggle born parent, they can be taught all our traditions and eventually take thier pure blood families name being seen as pure"
"Muggle borns have the same chance to learn traditions and be accepted, but a mud blood is a muggle born who won't try and abuses the gift of magic" she adds before I can ask.
"So we're?" I ask confused.
"Half bloods from the Prince family" she says smiling.
"Why does Alecto have two people working with her?"
Narcissa hums keeping a blank face "the reason traditions are so important is because magic gives blessings, almost like gifts, some could be Physical others could be a type of power like the Prince line, it has a direct connection to the Gaunt family who are descendants of Salazar Slytherin, but instead of being able to speak with snakes, you have purple eyes almost black in color, this allows you to see what others can't with Potions or spells".
"So Alecto has a gift that means she has both a male and female mentor?"
"Yes, at one point our gifts were talked about but as times changed, muggles brought in their beliefs forcing them on us, we had to start hiding certain gift"
"Why?"
"Muggles became jealous and judgemental, a long time ago starting with the founders everyone had a class about connecting to magic, this is what founded the pure blood families, sadly it's been banned because muggles started refusing to learn about it, they then became jealous of our gifts, now this is taught at home"
"We can't learn anything about magic at home" I mutter.
"Over Yula break I'll speak with my family to see if they will allow you two to come as long as your parents agree"
Scoffing I shrug "they won't care, Mother already wrote telling us to figure out summer plans and where to stay during the holidays".
