"Listen. Scotty is intensely Scottish. Bones is pretty damn southern. I really wish that we got a Jim Kirk who was just incredibly midwestern. Jim dropping things and saying “ope” under his breath. Jim running into things/people with an “ope, sorry”. Jim trying to get through crowds with a “let me squeeze right past ya”. Jim going on about how corn from Iowa is clearly the Superior Corn, far above other midwestern states’ corn and DEFINITELY better than non midwestern corn, which isn’t even worth eating in his humble opinion. Jim taking 30 fucking minutes to say goodbye to someone to the confusion of some alien culture who can’t figure out why Captain Kirk keeps stating his intention to leave but is STILL FUCKING HERE. It would have been beautiful and it’s a damn shame nobody was brave enough to give it to us"
