"Reggie, where are you?"
"In here." Regulus called looking at the Black family tapestry.
"What are you doing here, again?" Sirius asked. He would find his little brother staring into the tapestry quite often for the past few weeks.
"Just looking at my picture. Not really a picture though right? Just a skull." Regulus turned to his brother, he could see the slight worry on sirius' face.
"Come on Reggie let's play, stop thinking too much about it. Mother and father are gone they'll return in the evening. We're free until then." They did that a lot, joining some fancy pureblood activities and leave them at home with the old house-elf. Not that the boys cared of course. The far they were from their so-called parents was the better.

"I think I am meant to die young." Regulus turned to the wall again. "Dont you think?"
Sirius exhaled and let himself close his eyes just for a second. Regulus always spoke like death was his oldest friend. He didn't even looked upset about this, just mildly disappointed. Sirius hated the idea of his little brother dying before him. He hated even more when he talked like that.
"Oh that's such a bullshit. How would it even know that? Don't even think like that Reggie, come on, let's leave this room." He said and continued, "and you are not allowed to die before me. We either going to die together or live forever alright?"
Regulus smiled at his brother with sincerity. "Alright." he said as Sirius copied his smile.

Seven years later when the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black heir Regulus Black was presumed dead, all his big brother was able to say was "I'm sorry." through his tears.
