Chapter 2

(Lunella Pov)
Lunella stepped off the boat onto Shiz dock. Her sister devil girl (named that for her sharp teeth and devil-like horns) was starting her first day of university. Her father and mother also accompanied her. “We'll miss you so much honey.” They said as they hugged her tight. “Lunella carry your sister's luggage to her room.” They stated dismissively. Lu simply sighed and started to pick up the luggage.

She quickly realized she had no idea where Crage Hall was. She then spotted a blonde girl with a pink blazer and figured she would ask her. As she made her way towards the girl, the nearby crowd went silent and stared at her. The blonde turned around to see why the corridor had gone quiet only to scream when she locked eyes with Lunella.

“You're green,” the girl said as if it were a shocking revelation. Lunella pretended to be surprised.

“Oh my Oz, I am.” She stated flatly and looked down at her hands. She sighed, “let's just get this out of the way. “No I am not seasick,” she turned slightly to address the gawking students as they backed away “I did not eat grass as a child,” she turned again with the students backing away “and yes, I have always been this away.” She finished. She had gotten used to explaining herself to ignorant people.

The blonde gulped. “I am so sorry you have been forced to live like… this.” she replied. “If you ever want to remedy your condition,” she moved her hand all around, “just know I am studying to become a sorceress and plan on devoting my life to helping people such as yourself.” she finished. The surrounding crowd responded with applause as if the sun shined out of her ass.

“No thank you.” Lunella said dryly. “Excuse me?” the girl asked. “No thank you,” she stated again. The other girl seemed to be blindsided by this. “I’m fine just the way I am.” she said as she gave her a passive aggressive smile and walked away. Students whispered but she wasn’t focused on that. No, her first priority was getting this damn luggage to Devil Girl’s room.

She still didn’t know where Crage Hall was. She saw a lady working the help desk and figured she’d have better luck with her. Also there was her sister, seemingly confirming her room number, perfect.

“Excuse me?” She interjected. The lady yelped and looked as if she had seen a ghost. “Hi, I’m wondering where Crage Hall is.” The lady replied with a shaky voice, “and what is your room number?” “Oh no I’m not a student.” She answered.

“Thank Oz,” she breathed a sigh of relief. “What was that?” Lunella inquired. “Oh nothing.” she replied. “How about I take those bags,” the lady said hurriedly. She took the bags and started towards Crage Hall. She then noticed Devil Girl’s horns and started to grab at them.

“Stop, what are you doing!?” Devil Girl yelled. She tried to swat the woman’s hands away but to no avail. Lunella looked over to see what the commotion was all about only to see her sister trying to fight off the lady who was currently holding one of her horns.

Lunella yelled for the lady to get her hands off of her sister. But the lady wouldn’t listen. Pushed to her limit, Lunella’s magic flared up. Benches shot up and students were floating. In that time, she grabbed her sister’s arm and tried to get out of there.

The benches came down with a great crash along with the students. Devil Girl turned around, shocked to see the sight before her.

Lunella knew the look that awaited her. She prepared to apologize for her outburst.

“Devil Girl,” she was cut off before she could finish. “This was supposed to be my moment,” she lamented. Lunella could do nothing but stand there silently.

A blonde woman began to walk over to them, no doubt to chew them out for the damage. Lunella was prepared to be severely reprimanded.

“Students of Shiz, that was me.” The woman said with a voice that commanded respect. In response to this, the student body started clapping. Lunella was very confused. Then, the woman turned to her.

“What is your name?” The woman asked. “Lunella Lafayette ma’am.” she said, still unsure of what was happening. “Well Lunella, I'm Madame Dillon.” She put her hand out for a handshake. Lunella took it shyly. Dillon continued, “I've never seen magical talent like yours.”

Lunella wasn't used to praise like this and it nearly threw her for a loop. “Well thank you.” she said. “I have a sorcery seminar and I would love for you to be in it.” Lunella couldn't contain her surprise. “With a little practice we could hone your magical abilities. That is if you're willing to put in the work.” she elucidated.

Dillon mused, “there is the issue of rooming.” “Who wants to room with Miss Lunella?” she turned to the nearby students who backed away cautiously. Just then the pink girl from earlier ran over. “Madame Dillon Madame Dillon!” she yelled.

“Thank you Miss Casey, that is very caring of you.” The girl made a confused noise. Madame Dillon turned to both of them, “you two can room together.” The two of them just looked at each other in disbelief. As Madame Dillon walked away she turned around and gestured for Lunella to follow her. Perhaps this day was better than she thought it would be.
