Amelia Bones
Severus ducked out of the room and out of Gringotts, and he headed back to the Leaky Cauldron to floo to his office, where he floo-called Minerva to see if she was in. “Come through, Severus.” She stated once he asked and he came through to find Amelia Bones also in her office.
“Madam Bones.” Severus bowed. “Minerva. How much have you filled her in on?”
“Just the things about Sirius and Peter. Why? Was there more?” Minerva questioned.
“Quite a bit more, but that is my fault not yours.” Severus stated as he pulled out the letter Albus wrote to Petunia and the important parts of Harry’s inheritance test about the blocks and compulsions. “I forgot to give these to Minerva before she left. I would like to bring charges against Albus. I suggest reading Harry’s inheritance test first and then look for anything out of place in the letter he wrote to Harry’s Muggle Aunt.” Severus stated with the emphasis on the word muggle. Amelia gave Severus a questioning look before doing as instructed, and Severus watched as Amelia’s expression changed as she got farther through the blocks, compulsions, and ailments sections of Harry’s inheritance test, and when she put that down and picked up the letter, she slowly got paler throughout. When she finally put the letter down, she looked up at Severus very pale with a very concerned look on her face.
“This letter is very damning evidence, Severus. You said you got this from Harry’s muggle aunt, I am assuming that is Lily’s sister, given James was an only child.”
“That is correct. I can give you the memory of Petunia and my interaction at the Leaky Cauldron. She had a few choice words about Albus and his handling of Harry’s drop off at her residence.”
“Yes, please. I have many things that I wish to look into that are referenced in this letter alone.” Amelia stated, and Severus pulled a vial out of his pocket and pulled the memory from his mind and placing it in the vial and corking it, before handing it to Amelia.
“While I have you here. I have some questions in regards to the Wizengamot that have been brought to my attention. This regards my own seats as well as Harry’s seats.” Severus stated.
“Does this also involve Albus?”
“It does actually. The one involving my seats is I was unaware that he couldn’t claim proxy because of my employment at the school.”
“Uh, yes, that is very illegal, I believe Minerva holds seats as well.” Amelia stated as she turned towards her old friend, who looked rather sheepish. “Minerva?”
“Albus also holds my proxy.” She stated.
“Merlin and Morgana. We need to go through all legislation. When did he take up your proxy, Minerva?”
“I originally gave it to him when I started teaching as I didn’t want anything to do with the Ministry after I left. So, I am unsure if he ever miss used it or not.” Minerva stated.
“I will pull all legislation where your seat is used since, what 1945 is when you started teaching?” Amelia asked.
“Yes, Merlin. I can only guess the disaster that this is going to be.”
“One can only hope that he only used your seat as a swing vote, but that is just best-case scenario.”
“I’ve only been a teacher for a year, so the Prince seat shouldn’t be too bad.” Severus stated.
“You hold the Prince seat, Severus?” Amelia asked.
“Yes, my mother is a Prince. She was disowned after getting pregnant with me, but after her brother died without children my grandfather left everything to me.” Severus explained.
“Now, I feel like I have to look into your grandfather’s death, because he died shortly before you started teaching. Minerva, may I have some parchment, I need to make a list.” Amelia asked, and Minerva pulled out parchment and a quill. “Severus, can you give me the memory about Albus insisting on taking you proxy seats?” Amelia asked, and Severus complied.
“I would also like you to look into the Potter seat votes. I know Albus has been using them since their deaths, but I don’t know about prior, not that we can change those votes since we can’t know how James would have voted.” Severus stated.
“Sirius would, once we free him.” Minerva stated as a patronus wolf bounded into her office.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you, I told Remus to meet us here with Harry. I was originally going to talk to Lucius about the Wizengamot seats, but Amelia was here.” Severus explained.
“That’s fine. I shall go grab Mr. Lupin.” Minerva stated as he stood and left.
“I also would like you to look into a few other seats that Harry has, that I don’t know if Albus knew about or not, so I don’t know if he would have used them or not.” Severus stated.
“Lay it on me.” Amelia stated as she posed her quill to write.
“Peverell, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Black, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and because he has all of the founder’s seats, I believe, there is also a Hogwarts seat.”
“Merlin and Morgana. He has all of the founders?”
“Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are defaulted because they don’t have any living descendants, so because James is descendant from Gryffindor, and Lily is descendant from Slytherin; Harry has 50% ownership, he gets the rest by default. That is at least my assumption.” Severus explained.
“That sounds about right.” Amelia stated, and she sighed as she brushed a strand of hair out of her face. “Though the likelihood of Albus knowing about this is rather slim. He would have had to do an inheritance test as you have done, and I know Lily and James wouldn’t have let Albus do one when they were alive, and he didn’t have time after they were dead. He would have only been able to claim the proxy of the seats that he knew of. I will have to look into the Black seat as well just to make sure that he doesn’t have his hands in that basket as well; not that I think he does because I believe Arcturus is still alive; he only shows up to Wizengamot sessions, and he is otherwise locked in Black Manor. As far as I am aware he has Regency over House Black while Sirius has been in Azkaban. I will pull everything that is relevant for all of you and I will also start the investigation into Albus. I will do this myself to make sure that nothing is released to him ahead of time. I will forewarn you, Severus, he may still be able to hold his seat as Headmaster when this is done, but I will make sure that he doesn’t get anything else out of this. I can only assume that once Lord Malfoy finds out about everything, the Board of Governor’s will hold a tighter leash on Albus, but won’t be able to do anything until he does something in the school to students.” Amelia stated.
“I figured as much. I just hope that will be enough to dissuaded him from doing anything else to Harry.” Severus stated in return as Minerva returned with Remus and Harry.
“The cleansing took less time than the goblin’s originally thought, though they suspect Harry’s magic helped them along.” Remus stated as he plopped down next to Amelia with Harry in his lap. “What have we all discussed?”
“Sirius, Wizengamot seat’s, and Albus.” Amelia stated as she looked down at the parchment. “Though there is a lot more that I need to look into than that is not part of the main list, but most on this list go back to Albus, which is horrendous to think about, but we never truly know someone unless we know everything. I will head to the Ministry and look into Sirius’ trial first, and hope to get him released as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I will get back to all of you about your Wizengamot seat votes as well. Be warned they maybe hefty, or they may not be.” Amelia stated.
“Thank you, Amelia, dear.” Minerva stated, and Amelia smiled at the older woman before picking up the parchment and vials before heading over to the floo before heading through. “So, that will be a mess.” Minerva sighed as she summoned a decanter of Fire Whiskey and 3 tumblers, before pouring 2 fingers for all of them. “To think, this would have all been avoided if he just let Lily and James’ Will be read.” Minerva said before tipping the tumbler back in one gulp and refilling her glass.
