I post rather sporadically, I know. my brain is trying to write roughly 50 different stories at once, so it isn't always easy to update something my brain doesn't want to focus on. hope you enjoy the story anyway and bear with me.

Petunia

A thin, blonde-haired woman, with twice the usual amount of neck, was sneaking out of the house in the early dawn of a beautiful late December morning with a small bundle in her arms. She creeped quietly over to the car in the house’s drive, quickly glancing around to make sure no one was watching, as she strapped the bundle into the back seat of the car and quickly climbing into the driver’s seat before driving off. This isn’t how Petunia Dursley wanted to spend the first Boxing Day with her nephew in her custody, but she had no choice, if she wanted to keep him safe. The baby, the small bundle now wrapped and buckled safely in the back seat, was obviously magical like Petunia’s sister and brother-in-law, and Vernon was at his wit’s end with the “freakishness” that surrounded the babe.

Petunia was just trying to decide which orphanage would be best to drop the babe off at, when she heard clapping from the back seat. The bundle was awake. “Harry, dear. Please don’t distract Auntie while she is driving.” Petunia tried, hoping that the babe understood.

“Bank!” the babe, Harry, shouted, startling his aunt, and nearly crashing the car.

“Harry!” Petunia shouted. “Danger. Don’t shout.” Petunia attempted to finish calmly but was unsuccessful. Where would he have even heard that word? Petunia wondered.

“Mama! Bank!” Harry shouted, not liking being ignored. Petunia pulled the car to the side of the road as not to cause an accident, and she turned around after putting the car in park.

“Now, you listen here…” Petunia started but was cut off by the one-and-a-half-year-old.

“Mama! Bank!” Harry shouted again. “Wiffs!” Harry finished as he clapped his hands. Wiffs? Petunia thought. Obviously, that wasn’t a real word, but what could he mean. What would be at a bank that sounded like wiff? Petunia questioned. A will was the only thing that Petunia could think of that sounds like wiff. Would someone store their will at the bank? Petunia doesn’t know, her parents didn’t have one when they passed a few months before Lily. But if Lily had one then there were likely other options for Harry. She promised herself she would never go back there, but she had to place him somewhere. She nodded, just to reassure herself and pulled back onto the road. Harry now baby babbling while clapping his hands in the back seat.
