Siren.
"It'll be fun, trust me. You've been sad about the break up for far to long." Remus said, as they walked up to the bar.
"Well I always thought Lily was going to be the one Moony" James sighed. Breaking up with Lily had not been easy, but it was for the best. Barty leaned over the other side of the counter while serving their drinks, "There's a new band playing tonight, my boyfriends in it" He said, very cheeky about the fact he gets to hear his boyfriend play in his bar.
"We know Barty" Remus and James said in unison, while Barty just laughed and turned his head to the stage, "Oo oo look! Their coming on!" Barty said and pointed at the stage, making James and Remus look over at the stage as well.
4 people walked on stage, 2 girls, 2 guys, the two guys looked similar, one of them though, the taller one, had sunglasses on and a beanie that his hair was probably hidden with, but a few black strands stuck out, it was cute.
They all wore ripped jeans with fishnets, they had chort sleeve crop tops on with the name of their band, 'Broken souls', edgy.
Once they were all set up, the girl with blonde hair leaned into her mic "Listen up, we're Broken souls and we're here for you tonight!" She shouted and they instantly got into it.
They ended up playing one of James favorite songs, 'The view between villages', a nice song. James wanted to watch the band, but was focused on the lead singer, he couldn't help it or tear his eyes away.
He was so captivating, his voice, the way he played bass, James could tell he was a smoker, that didn't deter him.
"Feel the rush of my blood, I'm seventeen again, I am not scared of death, I've got dreams again" The guy sang, he seemed so relieved when he sang 'i've got dreams again'. The songs he sings covers of must have been important to him, oh dear.
"The death of my dog, the streatch of my skin, it's all washing over me, I'm angry again." He seemed despaired at that last line, while angry to. He puts so much emotion into the songs he sings he's like a siren, lulling people with his voice. James eyes drift to his arms where tattoos lay, There's one of an upside down cross with the words 'Don't put the blame on me', it probably has deeper meaning.
When the song was done, Remus nudged his side and James finally snapped out of his trance and looked over at him. Remus was smirking, "So, has someone caught your eye?" Remus teased and James just rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up" James said, and watched as they started playing another song.
The beat starts playing, the lead singer leans into the mic, "This is for you 'mother', and my oh so 'lovely' ex boyfriend". James notices that the boy Barty earlier pointed out as his boyfriend is singing the first verse.
"I could go and read your mind. Think about your dumb face all the time, living in your glass house, I'm outside, uh. Looking into your big blue eyes. Did it just to hurt me, make me cry. Smiling through it all, yeah, that's my life." He sings, James glances at Barty and see's him grimacing, James guesses they don't have a good mother.
"Your an idiot, now I'm sure, I should go and warn her" The girl on the third guitar sings into her mic. "Ooh bet your thinking, 'She's so cool'. Kicking back on your couch, making eyes from across the room. Wait, I think I've been there to" The lead singer sings, sounding almost a bit bitter.
"What'd she do to get you off? Taking down her hair like 'Oh my God'. Taking off your shirt, I did that once. Or twice, uh. No, I know, I know I'll fuck off" He sang and James felt pity, it must had been a bad relationship.
James wanted to get to know this singer, he was talented, he looked amazing, and James was so pulled to him he didn't know what to do. He drank the rest of his shot as the boy sang the bridge.
"Made it out alive, but I think I lost it. Said that I was fine, said it from a coffin. Remember how I died, when you started walking? That's my life, that's my life. I'll put up a fight, taking out my earrings. Don't you know the vibe? Don't you know the feeling? You should spend the night, catch me on your ceiling. That's your prize, that's your prize. Well" He sang.
The other 3 players apparently didn't know he was going to sing that but they kept playing anyway. When the song finished they announced they were going to take a break and then be back and they went back stage. Remus and James turned to Barty, "What's the lead singers name?" James asked. "I'm sworn to secrecy" Barty said with a sly grin, James groaned and turned to their merch table. "I guess I'm going to get some merch" He said and stalked off over there grumpily.
James got a call, from his boss, he's kinda shouting into the phone as he walked over to the merch table and sighed when he hung up and set down the table as he pulled out his wallet.
"Your boss?" The girl at the table smiled sympathetically, James recognized this girl as Pandora Rosier. "Yeah, that was my boss, Pandora" He said and bought a shirt, leaving with the wrong phone.
He didn't even realize it was the wrong phone till the show was over and he checked the time, only to see the background of the phone was not his. The background had a picture of a motorcycle, sick ride but this was not his phone.
The phone rang and he picked it up, but he couldn't hear anything over cheers of the crowd. "Hello?" He shouted as he tried to move to a quieter place. Some stopped in front of him though, it was the lead singer. He had a phone up to his ear to but he just gently grabbed the phone James had and placed the one he had in his hand.
James was completely dumbfounded the whole time, and snapped out of it when the singer booped his nose and left. James walked back over to his friends in a daze, after telling Remus and Barty what happened he kinda freaked out. "Do I text the number and say thanks?" He asked a bit panicked.
"Well yes, you probably should" Remus said, and James phone dinged.

Oh James was so gonna have a heart attack. They left soon after and he spent the whole car ride thinking of what to say to the singer.
