If you have any criticism that might be helpful PLEASE let me know or give me ideas for other one shots or even actual fics to write. Thanks, I hope you like this bad fic I wrote instead of sleeping

First year was when Barty, Evan, and Regulus first met. Soon enough Dorcas and Evan’s twin, Pandora, came into the picture as well. The group had been so close since that first year. Sure, they’d had their disagreements over the years, but that was bound to happen anyway as it happens in most friend groups.

Third year was when Evan and Barty got even closer and their friendship was stronger, more secure, than their other friendships and of course people took notice. This was also the year when people started getting crushes on kids in their year and Barty was no exception to this. Unfortunately, it just had to be his best friend.

In seventh year when they got back from the summer holiday, Barty had noticed Evan had changed. Matter of fact, he thought he’d changed a lot, but their friends never said anything and he knew his friends quite well. If they noticed anything different with Evan then they would’ve said something, but they didn’t. I must be imagining things. Nothing looks different and he sure as hell isn’t acting differently either, Barty would find himself frequently thinking.

One night, they were all sitting in the Slytherin common room just talking, laughing, and playing Uno around a coffee table by the fire. Dorcas and Pandora sat next to each other on a couch, Regulus was in a chair, Evan sat in another chair across from Regulus, and Barty had his head on Evan’s lap and he wasn’t playing. This change had been bothering Barty long enough and when better to say something than now?

“Something’s changed ‘bout you, Rosier. I just can’t figure out what the fuck it is,” Barty blurted out, stopping whatever stupid argument Dorcas and Regulus were having as they played. They stopped and looked at Barty, confused as to what the hell he was talking about. “You guys see it, no?” Barty asked, his pride not letting himself admit it was weird to say.

“Elaborate, please.” Dorcas said, putting her Uno cards down and placing her chin on her hand. She brushed her braids behind her shoulder, abandoning this current round. She clearly found this amusing as a grin started to paint itself on her dark lips.

“You know, like, he just feels…different than he used to. I mean, it’s not bad, kind of fucking hot, but something is just different,” Barty shrugged. In his head this felt like a big deal, but he decided to just play it off.

Evan let out a small laugh and all of their friends broke into scattered laughter, but Evan pulled himself together enough to speak. “B, I think that’s just you that thinks something is different about me,” Evan laughed as he looked down at the boy on the floor in front of him, his hands going to mess with Barty’s hair.

Barty felt a bit stupid now. Regulus let out a bit of dying laughter before looking down at his watch, his dark curls falling into his eyes. He put his cards down and started to stand up, stretching his limbs. “I hate to miss the rest of this, but I told Potter I’d meet him at the Astronomy Tower soon so I’d better start going,” Regulus sighed, but had a grin on his face. He didn’t want to miss this, but at the same time going to see James sounded a lot more interesting.

Barty ran his free hand through his dark hair with dyed neon green tips. He was relieved that this was starting to die down a bit, but as he looked up at Evan he could tell the other boy was hiding something. Barty and Evan were close and could read each other like open books and Barty could easily tell that he was onto something even if Evan would never admit it.

Pandora stood up and put her cards down. “I should head back to my common room. I’ll walk with you, Reggie,” she said, her soft voice feeling like a dream as she gracefully stood up, her long, blond locks easily falling down to her lower back. Regulus and Pandora headed out, already deep in some conversation that Barty, Evan, and Dorcas couldn’t care less about.

“One more game then we should head to our rooms,” Dorcas declared as she reshuffled the cards. Barty moved to the other chair and they were quickly thrown into an intense game of Uno. They were told to quiet down by a few younger students who were trying to sleep, but they didn’t care much. They stayed as loud as they wanted.

The game ended with Evan winning and Barty as a close second. “You might’ve won, but I know you fucking cheated, you asshole. I just haven’t figured out how yet,” Dorcas said, but her smile betrayed her words. She put all the cards away and stood up. She shot Evan a look that Barty couldn’t read, but Evan clearly understood. “Goodnight. See ya tomorrow. I hope you sleep like shit, Evan,” Dorcas turned and left, heading to the girls dormitory.

“Always do,” Evan shot back as he stood up. They could hear Dorcas let out a chuckle as she walked away. “Wanna hang out here or just go back to our room?” Evan asked, but it didn’t really make a difference to him. It was up to Barty this time.

Barty thought for a moment, looking up at the ceiling. “Our room. I wanna talk. In private,” Barty said as he looked at Evan, his gaze trailing all over Evan’s face and body. Fuck, he’s hot as hell, Barty thought. Evan raised an eyebrow and agreed. Evan stood up and Barty did too. They went to their room, laughing about something stupid that Evan told Barty.

As soon as the door closed, Evan went to his made bed and sat down. “Okay, so what did you want to talk about? Like what do you mean ‘I’m different?’”
Evan asked, his curiosity filling his mind with everything but the truth. He could tell Barty, right? He probably wouldn’t believe the truth. He wouldn’t believe that that’s why he’s changed.

“Like you just seem different. Like…i don’t fucking know…you just seem different is the only way to put it,” Barty said, pacing their small room, but keeping his gaze on Evan.

“Like I have a different…vibe?” Evan asked as he watched his best friend pace their room. He seemed to know exactly what Barty meant and Barty didn’t like it.

“Yeah, exactly!” Barty said, but he thought about it for a moment. His pacing stopped as he looked at Evan, his hazel eyes stuck on Evan’s. “You know exactly what I’m talking about. What are you not telling me, Evan?” Barty said, his voice full of betrayal. He rarely called Evan just his name. He was usually ‘Rosier’, not ‘Evan’ and Evan didn’t like how he felt like a small child being lectured.

Evan picked at his nails. “I don’t know if I can tell you, Barty,” he said, his voice firmer than he meant.

Barty looked at Evan, clearly hurt. “What do you mean you can’t tell me? I’m your best friend! I tell you everything, but you can’t tell me?” Barty exclaimed. Barty had a short temper sometimes and it didn’t stop at Evan, his first real crush.

Evan looked Barty in the eyes as he stood up. “Listen, I want to tell you, but I don’t think I can. You won’t fucking believe me,” Evan said harshly and it hurt Barty that Evan thought he wouldn’t believe him.

“You could tell me that fish don’t live in water and I’d believe you. You could tell me anything and I’d believe you,” Barty said. He felt like he was spilling all his secrets out, but he hadn’t even said anything worth keeping secret.

Evan let out a long sigh and ran his hands carefully through his dreads. “First, tell me some other things you’ve felt are off,” Evan said. He needed to know if he should just tell the truth or a little white lie.

“Are we really doing this?” Barty scoffed. He rolled his eyes, but saw that Evan was serious. “Fine. I’ve noticed that you’re fairly strong despite not having much muscle. Did I mention that you’re, well, super fucking hot. Like otherworldly type shit. Um-” Barty was about to say more, but Evan put his hand up, motioning for Barty to stop.

“Okay, okay, stop. I get it,” Evan sighed. His frustration faded as he looked at Barty. Evan took in his features as he spoke. “Fine. You clearly notice something is…different,” Evan sighed.

Barty nodded. “Yeah, it’s what I’ve been fucking saying,” he said with furrowed brows. He looked Evan up and down, still a bit frustrated.

“I’m a…vampire,” Evan said, showing his fangs to Barty who, understandably, had a look of disbelief on his attractive features. “It only happened recently. Like the last two weeks recently.”

Barty couldn’t help but smile as he realized Evan was telling the truth. He bit his lip as the possibilities ran through his mind. “Can’t say I’m complaining,” Barty said. Evan recognized the look on Barty’s face.

“I’m not doing that,” Evan immediately said. He took a subtle step back from Barty, but he just took another step forward.

“Oh, come on. It’ll be fine, Rosier. It sounds fun and I’m sure you haven’t gotten to really feed yet, huh?” Barty said as he placed his hands on Evan’s shoulders.

“I’m not giving into your weird kinks again, B,” Evan muttered, but they both knew it would happen soon enough. Evan’s eyes went from Barty’s eyes to his lips. “Just this one time,” Evan mumbled, more to himself rather than Barty as he pressed his lips to Barty’s. Barty immediately welcomed it and happily kissed him back. Barty pulled Evan against him as they continued to kiss. Barty trailed kisses to Evan’s ear before whispering.

“Just one bite, Ev. I’m giving you your chance now and you’d better take it,” he whispered as he kissed along Evan’s jawline. Evan sighed.

“Fine,” Evan whispered back as he now started to plant open mouthed kisses to Barty’s neck. Right where Barty’s shoulder and neck meet is where Evan bit. He had more self control than he assumed he’d have as he took just as much as he actually needed. The area was bleeding as Evan pulled away. Evan was about to grab a face cloth, but Barty stopped him.

“Don’t,” Barty muttered. “See, that wasn’t so hard. Besides, it felt nice,” Barty chuckled. Barty felt fine and he actually liked the sensation it caused. Not to mention, he got to kiss Evan. Evan pressed a kiss to the spot he bit, blood staining his lips.

“You’re so fucking weird,” Evan chuckled. Barty laughed and placed his hands on the side of Evan’s head.

“You love it,” Barty teased as he pulled Evan into another deep kiss, tasting his own blood on Evan’s lips. Evan sighed into it, and wrapped his arms around Barty.

Barty pulled Evan against him as they kissed, Evan’s tongue slipping into Barty’s mouth. Barty let out a gentle moan and Evan placed kisses on Barty’s neck. Evan let his fingers slide under the other man’s shirt and Barty shivered as he felt Evan’s cold fingers on his torso.

Evan pulled back. “Yeah, I do. I really love it,” he agreed. Evan was glad with how his night ended, especially like this with Barty. Evan kissed Barty again, not even really thinking about it. Evan liked Barty so much, but he never thought it would go anywhere. Evan knew that if this could be forever, then forever would be okay with him, but nothing, especially this with Barty, could be forever like Evan.
