Interlude
I followed Lily, James and Albus up the stairs. On the second floor, we reached a stop. Albus opened the door to a huge room. A four-poster bed was leaning against the far side wall, a big closet was in the left side corner next to another door (I suppose it's the bathroom), a mahogany table was on the right side with a window on top of it.
"How about we get changed and head to the pool?" James said. Lily smiled and went to her room. Albus and I nodded our heads. With that James took off to his room to get changed.
Albus turned my way and said," If you need anything, I'm right down the hall to the left, okay?" "Okay. Thanks Albus" I smiled. He was so nice and caring. "Please, call me Al. The only ones who call me Albus are the grown ups when they are mad at me." he explained.
I nodded and he started walking towards his room. I closed the door and opened the suitcase. I put on my swimsuit. The top part was dark blue and the bottom part was waist high filled with blue and white flowers. A pamela hat was complementing it to keep the sun from hitting my face.
I heard a knock on the door so I went and opened it. Al was waiting for me. He had a dark green swimsuit and a pair of glasses on his head. "Ready? Lily and James are already in the pool. " he told me. I nodded. We headed down stairs. Ginny was making lunch and Harry was reading the newspaper on a hammock. Lily was sitting at the border of the pool with James, with black sunglasses, between her legs. She was stroking his hair whilst he chilled in the pool.
"Hi Charlotte. Find everything Ok?" Harry asked. He was sitting on a hammock reading the newspaper with Ginny right next to him on another hammock. On the far side, a barbecue was making hamburgers.
"Yes. Thank you so much." I smiled at him and headed to where James, Lily and Al were sitting. I sat next to Lily and beggan talking to her. James and Al were inside the pool and making comments on our weird love for music.
"I still don't understand why you want to learn to play an instrument, Lily," James said. Lily rolled her eyes and made a face. "Wait. You want to learn how to play an instrument?" Lily nodded so I said," I know how to play the piano. If you want, and only if you want, I'll teach you"
Lily's face brightened and she hugged me,
"YES! Thank you thank you thank you!!
She hugged me again and I smiled. She was so nice and kind. James and Al shook their heads but smiled. "Kids!", Ginny called out," Lunch is ready!" James and Lily looked at each other and scrambled to their feet. Lily pushed James back into the water and ran to the table. "Hey! No fair" James complained as he got out, again. Lily stuck her tongue out and started eating her hamburger.
Al and I walked to the table and helped give out the plates of food. Everyone could make their hamburger as they wished. I took lettuce, mayonnaise and ketchup. I added some tomatoes but didn't put them inside the hamburger, I just left them at the side of the plate.
James looked at me with curious eyes and asked,"Why don't you put your tomatoes inside the hamburger?" Al and Lily turned their heads towards me.
"I just don't like tomatoes with anything. Just olive oil and salt." James understood and shrugged. Ginny must have heard me because she put some olive oil and some salt on the table. I smiled at her and poured a little bit of olive oil and a speck of salt onto my tomatoes and ate it.
No ones POV
Days went past and Charlotte and the Potter got really close.
She had got her Hogwarts letter along with Al, James and Lily. Ginny and Harry treated her like their own child and Lily, Al and James like their sister.
Lily had learnt to play the basic piano pieces and never stopped thanking Charlotte about it. Al had shown her all about wizard chess and explained about Hogwarts: the houses, the paintings, the staircases and the ghosts. He explained everything in full detail and added comments and opinions.
On the other hand, James introduced her to Quidditch. He told her every single detail of quidditch. The positions, the balls, the teams.......even some movements! He also explained his ambition of pranking and told her a secret he hadn't told anybody. A few years ago, he had gone to his father's office and stolen the Marauders Map. It was a map of Hogwarts. It showed everybody at every minute of every day! She had sworn to not tell anybody.
(So back to where we were.....) Days passed into weeks and before they realised it, it was the 30th of august. The Potters had met up with the Granger-Weasleys at the leaky cauldron to get all the stuff they needed for Hogwarts.
"Okay everybody..."Harry said once everyone was here,"...We are going to split up. James, you can go alone if you want but at seven I want you back with ALL your things. Ok? " James nodded and disappeared into the crowd. Harry continued," Al Rose, you go with Charlotte to get her things. Don't forget her wand, cauldron and robes. Then you can go wherever you like as long as it is in Diagon alley." They nodded and went through the brick wall.
This time, Hermione spoke, "Lily and Hugo, you come with me and Ginny." They left the men to talk and catch up whilst they went with the kids. They also catched up with the latest news about the wizarding world.
