Anything you can do, I can do better.

I can do anything better than you.

Frank: No you can't.

Annie: Yes, I can.

The epic rivalry between Lady Himani Peverell and Lord Marvolo Slytherin was legendary.

All of Britain, and even outside of it, knew the story of the epic rivals who had shaken the Wizarding World and turned it upside down.

Both went to Hogwarts, and from school, they proved to be incredible leaders. Tom Riddle, how Marvolo Slytherin was known before changing his name, had become the King of Slytherin thanks to his intelligence and his clear gift of speaking parseltongue that revealed him as the Heir of Slytherin, a surname he later took. Himani Peverell had also quickly taken control of Slytherin as its Queen thanks to her power and intelligence, making her Tom's greatest rival.

However, both had the sick idea that they had to be better than the other, always contradicting each other in a war of intelligence, magic and cunning that left most students and teachers dumb.

The years at Hogwarts were crazy, with both of them creating their own Slytherin teams in a way that revolutionized the school and the house of green and silver itself. The most important thing was that even with this division, the house itself was never separate. If you messed with a Slytherin, regardless of the team, you messed with the entire house.

The Silver Team was led by Tom Riddle. His ideals were quite radical, with the idea that the magical world should change quickly, even if it meant violence. And secretly, he believed that wizards and witches should rule over muggles.

The Green Team was led by Himani Peverell. She believed that the Magical World should change, but in a less violent way to avoid casualties. Unlike her rival, Himani believed that both worlds should be kept strictly separate from each other.

That was the only major difference, as both believed that muggleborns should be integrated with wizards, even if it meant erasing the memories of Muggles and taking Muggleborns as babies. Both believed in the supremacy of magic and that there was no black or white magic, only power. Likewise, both believed that magical creatures deserved equal rights.

But both had their own darker plans, with Tom wanting to rule over Muggles and wizards, and Himani wanting to completely separate the two worlds. For their more secret plans, both created their own organizations. The Knights of Walpurgis became Tom's right hand, and the Knights of Salem became Himani's.

That rivalry became legendary, even if not many understood how many inner, secret plans those two Slytherins actually had.

And many thought they would go far and change the Wizarding World even more than they already had. Unfortunately, they were both killed and Britain never got to see the golden age that could have come with these two at the helm of the world.

Both youngsters had left Hogwarts and quickly entered a political career. In a Wizarding World in monarchy, they could only be the monarchs if they rebelled against Albus Dumbledore's rule, so they went for the next best thing, Ministers.

The position of Minister is the only one that is won based on the approval of the people and the only position in which candidates must campaign every five years to be elected or re-elected, similar to how the President is elected in the United States.

There is the Minister of the Left and the Minister of the Right and they always run for office together. So despite their rivalry, Marvolo and Himani had been together in their campaign to become the next Ministers of the Wizarding World.

Himani had decided to be the Minister of the Left, which controlled finances, laws, among other things. Marvolo went the way of the Minister of the Right, concentrating more on the army and the idea of fighting for the country. Both thought that this way, they could manage the country in their favor to fulfill their plans.

Unexpectedly, both were attacked by surprise by an Avada Kedavra and died, causing a stir not only in Great Britain but beyond it. The Magical World had lost two powerful and terribly intelligent wizards who would have revolutionized the world if they had not been robbed of their lives at such a young age.

And while the world was mourning them, both had awakened somewhere else.

It only took one action for both wizards to understand that despite having died, they were together in this new life. That divine forces wanted them to continue their great rivalry and turn the world upside down. And that is how they find themselves in the current situation.

“Married to an old man with four children, huh?” mocked Daemon Targaryen, who had been Marvolo Slytherin.

“Infatuated with your useless niece with several bastards, huh?” mocked Alicent Hightower, who in another life was Himani Peverell.

“Funny.” Daemon rolled his eyes. “Even though you care about your new children, I don't care about the princess and her children.”

“Aw, poor Rhaenyra. Her heart would break if she knew that her beloved uncle is indifferent to her.” She laughed maliciously.

“Don't think that just because I'm in another world I don't have plans, and now I have a dragon.” Daemon’s smiled resembled a fox.

“Baby Boo, you're not the only one.” The queen mocked. “I'll make sure to stay in power and that you die without getting the crown.”

Daemon growled at his rival's words. Verbally fighting with that woman was something fun but frustrating, she always had a malicious response that got on his nerves, even if he didn't show it.

“We’ll see about that.”

It wasn't long before the court noticed that both clashed more often and now they did it in a more cunning way, with malicious and mocking remarks made only to annoy and leave the other looking like a clown. In addition to that, everyone noticed that both had taken control of the kingdom and despite their fights here and there about not being on the same side, they were doing a good job with the kingdom.

Tongues were already beginning to wag that Daemon should become king and take Alicent as his queen because they both made a great team despite being, supposedly, rivals.

The people were the ones who benefited the most, with both nobles doing everything they could to win their approval in a way that seemed like a competition over who was more favored by the people. Both understood that winning over the people was winning the throne.

“It seems that, currently, I am the people's favorite, your majesty,” Daemon mocked, drinking his wine next to the queen as he watched the nobles celebrate.

“Not for long, my prince,” Alicent answered without looking at him, with a false smile.

The nobles watched them from afar, being able to notice that although they both smiled, it was clear that it was a smile full of falseness and that once again they were competing.

“Please, you cannot surpass me. Accept it, and believe me, you will feel better, your majesty.” He commented with false kindness.

“Anything you can do, I can do better.” Alicent's smile was as false as her love for Viserys.

“No, you can’t.” Daemon mocked.

“Yes, I can.” The Queen smiled even bigger. “Let the teacher show you how to win the love of the people, my prince.”
