Chapter 2

Hermione could not sleep, so she made her way to the kitchen to make some tea. It wasn’t until her tea was almost done and she went to grab her mug that she spotted Pansy. “Good Godrick! What the hell Pans!” She said to the slender, beautifully pale woman siting at the kitchen bar. Her black hair perfectly in place even at 3am. “I was wondering when you’d notice little ole me.” Pansy teased. Pansy was probably the Orders second best soldier. She just didn’t fight like Hermione and the others. Pansy had the most advanced occulmancy and legitimince skills that Hermione had ever seen, making her very valuable.

Once Pansy was made aware of the awful plans her father was going to be apart, she knew she wasn’t going to be able to take the mark. One night she was honing her skills when she could easily eavesdrop on an important meeting her father was holding in their manor. Pansy was so good, it was like she had drank an invisibility potion and was standing right there with the lot of death eaters. Apparently her father suggested that all witches who refused the mark or did not obey their superiors would be collected and sold as slaves. Her father wanted to turn witches into slaves. “Take away their voice, their choices & their magic” she heard saw her father say with the biggest grin on his face.

That’s when she knew she had to flee. She was so conflicted she didn’t want to leave her little brothers or her friends. The night before she was suppose to go in front of the Dark Lord and take the mark was when she ran. She first stopped at Malfoy Manor. She still knew how to sneak into Draco’s room without being noticed, even with a manor full of death eaters. She tried to convince Draco, Theo & Blaise to run with her. Draco was long gone by then, she’s surprised he didn’t AVA her at first sight. He looked dead on the inside. Theo, on the other hand, she could tell wanted to go with her. He wouldn’t abandon Draco though. So she left alone.

She was on the run for two years before Hermione found her and saved her life one night. When Pansy father found out if her betrayal, he had sent a pack of werewolves after her. She did quite well for a year on the run, but after awhile not eating and not sleeping catches up with you. Three of them were chasing her through a wooded area. She saw an abandoned cottage and decided to try to climb on the roof for safety. As the three beasts pranced on her the roof caved in. Pansy was in luck when all four of them fell into the ruble. The three beasts were impaled and killed on impact. Pansy was seriously injured, and she thought for sure she would die there. That’s how Hermione found her. She remembered Theo telling her about Pansy running away early into the war, and about Mr. Parkinson’s plans with non obedient witches. So Hermione saved her life and they became thick as thieves ever since.

“What have you been up to?” Hermione said as she took a seat next to Pansy. “Oh a little of this, a little of that, you know the usual.” She answered her. “Any luck with any of your contacts in finding him?” Hermione asked. Pansy didn’t even look up from admiring her freshly painted nails, “Nope the slimy bastard is good at hiding.” Spoke Pansy. Hermione let out a frustrated sigh and balled her fist up, “I don’t know how much more I can give.” She spat out. Pansy side eyed her and as a smirk started to appear on her face she suggested, “Did I hear it’s time to go out and let off a little steam?” Hermione let out a small laugh, “Actually yea, it’s a date tomorrow.”

Pansy and Hermione often went out, usually to muggle pubs are clubs to find a little relief from the war. They would go out drinking and dancing the night away. Sometimes ending up in strangers beds. Harmless fun. Other times they would capture and torture random death eaters for fun. Hermione felt like she needed a fun night. She wanted to pretend there wasn’t a war going on.

Pansy stood up and very seductively walked by Hermione as she ran her fingers down Hermione’s arm she said “It’s a date then.” Hermione laughed. She’s pretty sure when Pansy ‘flirted’ it was for jokes. “Yea I need to unwind.” She admitted. “Oh darling, I could get you to unwind without leaving this manor.” Hermione could feel her cheeks growing red with heat. Pansy loved making people uncomfortable, especially Hermione. She loved playing with minds, but sometimes she felt like she had a some crush on the Gryffindor.

“Oui am I interrupting something?” Ron said while walking into the kitchen. “Yes.” Pansy answered quickly. Hermione jumped at the sound of his voice as if she had been caught doing something naughty. When she turned to see if was Ron she just rolled her eyes. He was still as a statue with wide eyes. “You’d love that wouldn’t you Ronald.” Hermione said with annoyance. He just shrugged as his smile grew bigger, “I’m just saying” he said. Hermione got up and headed to out of the kitchen. She stopped at the doorway, “Oh so I’m allowed to flirt with a girl, but the moment you see me even smile at a man you loose it?” She questioned him. Now Ron’s cheeks were turning red, but not with embarrassment, with anger. Hermione was still upset that Ron had interrupted a very sensual moment she was having with a very handsome man a few weeks ago. “You didn’t even know the blokes name!” He practically yelled at her. “And?!” Hermione threw her hands in the air. She retreated back into the kitchen just to stand face to face with Ron, “Let me make myself so very clear Ronald Weasley, I am NOT your girlfriend!” She left the room as soon as she was done not even giving him a chance to respond. “Well the lioness has spoken.” Pansy couldn’t help herself. Ron just rolled his eyes and then tried to confide in the Slytherin who obviously could care less, “I just don’t understand. I love her so much, and she use to love me! I don’t know what I did wrong!” Pansy decided to entertain the poor broken hearted red head, “I’m not sure how you have not noticed, but the Hermione you fell in love with has been long gone.” She gave him a little pat on his shoulder has she too left him to his thoughts and retreated to her bedroom.
