A Messy Room
I gulped down, suspicious of what Taehyun has in bag for me now.
"I apologise I bursted out in such a way." He did seem guilty. "I just... I don't know where to start."
I didn't say anything.
All I wanted to do right now is to listen to him. Is it wrong?
"I....I like you Y/n. No, not since the kiss. Since almost our 4th year. I always believed that this was just a little crush that would be over in no time. However it did not. I kept on liking you." He what?!
"I didn't help you to get you out of your marriage because you came across me and Delphini. I could easily erase your memories. I did that because I didn't want to see you marry anyone else."
"I know this is all weird and unbelievable. But Y/n, this is all true. I had no clue how to approach you. We were never exactly friends, were we? We never got on each other's good terms, did we? But even though we've seen the worst of each other, I still like you the same."
"I wouldn't gainsay that the kiss was a milestone. The kiss made me want to confess. It made me attain some sort of courage. To tell you everything. But you were avoiding me for the past month. You'd run away everytime I tried to talk to you. Well, leaving all this aside...."
Taehyun stared down at me with firm eyes.
"Y/n Avery, would you care to do me the favour to be your boyfriend?"
My heart skipped a beat. I was out of words.
"It's alright if you reject me right here. I just wanted to speak out my heart. You're on loose to avoid me for the rest of your life. I mean, I'm all aware how much you care about blood purity and you probably dislike me and if-"
I've had enough. I leapt to hang my arms around his shoulder, to hug him tight. "Ofcourse, you nerd!!" I laughed in happiness.
I was fearing this moment for nothing. I was almost overcome with tears of joy. Everything just turned out for the good.
Though astound at first, freezing on the spot, it didn't take Taehyun long to hug me back. I could feel him giggling on my shoulder. His heart beating next to mine.
He lifted my feet off from the ground and gave me a spin in the air before settling me back carefully on the ground, all while both of us were giggling for no reason.
"Yes, Kang Taehyun, I'd grant you the favour to be my boyfriend!" I grinned at him.
He beamed back at me.
But it didn't take him long to change his expression to that of a person who has seen a ghost. "What?" I snapped. "Y/n..." He started.
"Our class!! Transfiguration... we're probably..." Taehyun expeditiously pulled out a pocket watc and glanced at it for a few seconds before turning back to me with the same horrified expression. "We're late." He declared while shoving the pocket watch back into his pocket.
"Oh shit." I hissed.
Taehyun hastily grasped my wrist again and broke into a run after we had hurried out of the classroom, pulling me with himself. "I hope McGonagall is in a good mood." I state.
"Professor, McGonagall." Taehyun corrected me, giving me a quick glance.
Nerd.
After we had reached our destination, Taehyun carefully knocked on the door, hesitant. Shortly after, th door was opened and McGonagall stood infront of us, eyeing us dubiously.
"That's right. I was exactly waiting for the two of you. Where have you two been?" Her hawk-like eyes travelled from me to Taehyun. This time we didn't have any words. We were actually kind of together this time.
"No actually don't answer. 5 points Slytherin and 5 points from Ravenclaw. Go to your seats now." She ordered, stepping aside, letting us in.
The moment I spotted Caspian and Ivy, I went to take a seat with them. Settling my bag aside, I sat beside Ivy with Caspian on the other side of her. "What was that?" Caspian leaned in as soon as I sat.
"What was what?" I acted ignorant.
"You. Taehyun. Together." Caspian muttered. "I just met him on my way." I didn't want technically lie, did I?
"Why were you late? You left ahead of us." Ivy reminded. Shit. "Oh yes, a first year Gryffindor ran into me and didn't even bother to apologise. Had to teach him a lesson." I shrugged. Ivy and Caspian sneered in response.
Phew.
They believe me.
"Miss Avery, Miss Lierre and Mr. Nyx, if you don't wish for more points to be taken from your house, would you care to pay attention to the class?" McGonagall's voice echoed.
We shut up at once.
My eyes spontaneously went to Taehyun who was sitting with his fellow Ravenclaws a few seats forward towards my right, only to have our eyes meet that felt like a thunderbolt. I quickly diverted my gaze as I felt blood rush to my cheeks.
I realise that I was trying to supress a smile.

"I told you nothing is going on between us!" I try to persuade Ivy and Caspian about the Taehyun situation on our way back to the common room. Though they are moderately convinced, their suspicions have not ended once and for all.
"You're seen with him a shitload amount of times." Ivy replied, keeping up her pace.
"It's just a coincidence!" I replied. It's not. But who cares?
"Y/n, just to make everything intelligible, may I remind you, he's a half-blood. You're a pure-blood. This whole relationship makes no sense. Your family would prefer honour killing over sending you off to that dweeb. I don't think I can witness that. I'll in no way approve of you having any sort of relationship with him. If there turns out to be something between you two, our friendship will be over." Ivy stated as we stepped into our common room after Caspian prompted the password.
I had no reply.
I never thought of this situation that far. It's just a temporary thing, right? It's not like I'm dreaming of tying a knot with him....right?
"Okay yeah Y/n won't have anything with Taehyun, can we now please leave for dinner? I'm starving!" Caspian whined. Thank Merlin! Caspian shifted the topic.
"Yeah, we'll just leave our bags in our room and come back!" I replied, trying to get out of the situation with utmost priority.
I hurried to our dormitory with Ivy right behind me.
I opened the door and froze at the spot as I saw the state the room was in. Everything was out of place. The bedsheets were barely reaching the mattress, the drawers were open, numerous stuff of ours chaotically lying on the floor, stuff were spilling out of the drawers, a vase that was on the bedside table was shed into pieces. Everything was a mess.
The room has been searched.
Ivy bumped into me. "Ou- Merlin's beard." She exclaimed as she perceived the situation. "Thea and Zoe?" I suggested, trying not to think of the worst.
Just then, those two popped up out of nowhere beside Ivy. "Was it the two of you?" Ivy shot a glare at them as I hurried to the room and explored my trunk that sat ajar. I started scrutinizing if any of my stuff has disappeared.
"N-no!"
"We have just arrived from our lessons!"
Something about their scared voices told me that they weren't being dishonest. They wouldn't have the nerve to do any of this.
Through the corner of my eye, I witnessed Ivy scoot back to the common room, hastily I followed her.
"Which one of you dicks was this?!" Ivy announced through the common room, grabbing everyone's attention. "Our room has been searched. Which one of you did that?" I explained to the quizzed audience.
"Are you sure it's not just your roommates?" Yeonjun replied from the couch.
"It's not and if it is, you won't be seeing them attend the next term." I shot a glare at Zoe and Thea who recoiled, shaking their heads furiously.
"Maybe...." A third year Slytherin boy started. Everyone turned to him. "It's....The Dark Lord's son." He said, darkly.
"It's no time for jokes." I barked.
"Engorgio"
But Ivy was at the edge of her anger. She flicked her wand which caused that third year to have an abnormally giant eyeball that looked quite eldritch indeed.
"Be glad that you're a pure-blood." Ivy muttered.
"So, did anyone of you do this?" I pulled out my wand and pointed it at the numerous Slytherins settled at various places. They all shook their heads hastily.
"Other houses...." I lowered my wand. So did Ivy. Though I wasn't completely trusting these people.
"Y/n! Ivy!" Caspian who had just emerged out of his own dorm room came up, dashing to us the moment he came across this situation.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Our room has been searched." I stated.
"Is anything missing?" Caspian seemed worried. "We haven't searched." I replied.
"We should go look into it first." Ivy turned to me. I nodded as a response.
