“Regina? Are you listening to me?” Sirius asks. They’re sitting in the library Sirius having interrupted Regina’s study time.
“No,” Regina deadpans.
“Merlin, I was trying to tell you something important you know,” Sirius groans. Regina rolls her eyes.
“Go ahead then tell me,” Regina snaps impatiently.
“You know my friend Lily?” Sirius asks Regina. And oh fuck does Regina know Lily. She’s liked the older girl since her first year at Hogwarts three years ago. Something about her just caught Regina and hadn’t let go. Just the mention of Lily made her blush.
Regina quickly realized she’d been silent for too long and responded with a quiet yes.
“Okay, well, some seventh-year creep asked her out and wouldn’t take no for an answer, so she said she had a date, but she doesn’t,” Sirius explains.
Regina furrows her brows. “And what does this have to do with me?” She asks impatiently crossing her arms.
“Well, Lily needs a date so that her lie isn’t a lie you know? This guy was a real creep and if she doesn’t have a date he’ll probably harass her,” The older black sibling responds quickly. “Okay so I told Lily you were free and that you’d go as her fake date,” Sirius adds.
Regina resists the urge to fucking beat the ever-loving shit out of her older sister for this.
“Please Reg, I’ll owe you one, everyone else I know is taken or busy that day,” Sirius pleads.
Regina is fighting the urge to thank her sister or curse her out. Going on a real or fake date is all Regina’s wanted for three years. The fact that it’s fake though might just destroy her.
“I’ll do it,” Regina says knowing that she’ll regret it, knowing how bad this is gonna break her. It’s worth it for the chance to go out with Lily even if it’s only real for her. Sirius reaches across the library table and gives Regina a tight hug.
“Thank you thank you thank you,” Sirius whispers into her sister’s ear. Regina rolls her eyes and pushes her sister away fighting a smile.

“Dorcas what the fuck am I supposed to even wear,” Regina all but screeches the morning before her fake date with Lily.
“Reg calm down okay, you’re freaking out cause you’re going on a date with your crush, but I promise you what you’re wearing isn’t that big of a deal,” Dorcas says, her voice calm and steady tone grounding Regina. The younger girl breathes in deeply and lets out a long breath.
“Okay, I’m sorry for yelling, I’m just very stressed,” Regina apologizes.
“It’s okay, let me pick you out an outfit and you just do anything else you need to get ready,” Dorcas smiles reassuringly. Regina nods and walks off to the dorm's bathrooms.
Regina looks at her long curly hair and sighs happily at the sight. She always wanted long hair growing up. Regina doesn’t take too long just putting on some mascara and lipgloss and making sure her curls look good. Stepping out of the bathroom she sees the outfit Dorcas lay out on her bed for her. Dorcas is looking through Regina’s little jewelry box.
“Go change and then I’ll give you some jewelry,” Dorcas says not even having to turn around to know Regina’s entered the room.
Regina scoops the clothes up and goes back to the bathroom to change. Dorcas took out a white blouse with a black bow to tie around her neck, a pleated black skirt, and a black headband. Regina quickly changed and exited the bathroom. Dorcas had put everything back the way it was before Regina had started tearing apart her closet in her panic. Regina had a sudden urge to hug her friend.
“Oh, you look so good Reggie,” Dorcas coos coming up to Regina and holding her face between her hands and smooshing her face. Regina giggles and pushes her friend away.
“Stop Cas,” She laughs. Dorcas lets go and steps back.
“Put on your boots and I have earrings for you to put on,” Dorcas says handing Regina black crow earrings. Regina puts them in quickly and then walks over to where she keeps her shoes. She got her black boots from Sirius. She had grown out of them and thought that Regina might like them. They’ve grown to be her favorite shoes. Regina also gets her purse because it’s near her shoes.
“Thanks, Cas, I couldn’t have done this without you,” Regina tells her friend softly.
“It was nothing Reg, I’m happy for you,” Dorcas says.
“Yeah, even if it’s fake I’m glad I could help Lily out,” Regina smiles looking down at her hands.
“Honestly she’d be stupid not to like you, if I weren’t taken and you weren’t hopelessly in love with Evans I’d probably ask you out,” Dorcas laughs. Regina can’t help but grin at her friend.
“Same,” the younger girl responds simply.
“You wanna go wait outside for Evans?” Dorcas asks. Regina nods. Dorcas starts to walk out of Regina’s dorm, down the stairs, and into the common room. Regina follows just behind her. In the common room, Evan and Barty are playing chess.
Barty looks up at them. “Ooo who’re you all dolled up for Reggie?” He teases.
“No one,” Regina deadpans. Both Barty and Evan laugh. Regina rolls her eyes as she flips the pair off and exits the common room, Dorcas follows closely behind the shorter girl.
When they get out of the common room Lily is waiting there with a bouquet. Lily is ethereal. She’s wearing a long green dress that has little white flowers all over it and a white sweater over it. Her hair is in a messy bun. Regina wants Lily to fucking stomp on her.
“Hey,” Lily greets. Lily’s voice is lethal. It’s like warm honey. It’s like angels singing a secret song just for Regina. Regina’s face goes bright red.
“H-hey,” Regina stutters out quietly.
“These are for you,” Lily says handing Regina the bouquet. Regina takes a deep breath of the flowers and breathes in their pleasant scent.
“They’re lovely, thank you so much, Lily,” Regina says her voice dripping with gratitude. She stands there awkwardly for a moment before looking at Dorcas. “Um… oh um Dorcas could you er out these in my dorm for me,” Regina asks her friend. Dorcas nods and takes the flowers discreetly saluting her friend.
With that Lily and Regina start to silently walk out of the dungeons, out of the castle, and towards Hogsmeade.
“Thanks for doing this,” Lily says grabbing Regina’s hand as they walk into the town. Regina nods while trying to control her heart and her breathing.
“Where are we heading?” Regina asks regaining some semblance of composure.
“I was thinking we could get an early lunch at the Three Broomsticks then just wander and browse at the shops or something,” Lily says softly.
“That sounds good,” Regina answers quietly. Lily suddenly pulls Regina into the Three Broomsticks. They quickly find seats towards the back. They order quickly both having been there enough to not have to think about what they want for too long.
“How’s quidditch?” Lily asks peering at Regina with those beautiful green eyes of hers.
“Oh it’s uh good, I think Dorcas is gonna be made captain next year,” Regina says all too quickly and all too slowly.
“That’s good, she’s good, you’re very good,” Lily tells Regina with a soft smile. Regina wants to melt, she can only hope Lily would scoop her up and put her in a jar.
Their food comes. The two girls dig in. Not talking much, only small talk. They sit for a while longer before leaving to wander around. Lily again takes Regina’s hand.
“What’s your favorite book?” Lily asks as they look around at all the shops. Regina is still a nervous wreck, but less so than she had been at the start of their date.
“I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s the book that inspired Dracula, Carmilla,” Regina says quietly. Lily stops in her tracks and looks Regina dead in the eyes. Green meeting blue.
“No way really?” Lily asks quickly. Regina nods softly. “That’s actually crazy, Carmilla is like one of my favorite books,” the older girl cradles Regina’s face with her hands. Regina would let Lily devour her whole and after she’d thank her and beg Lily to go again. They’re both breathing heavily. Regina can’t take it anymore.
“Fucking kiss me, Merlin just fucking kiss me already,” Regina begs her already red face somehow turning redder. Lily looks momentarily shocked before complying with Regina’s request.
Lily has soft lips. They feel heavenly against Regina’s. The kiss is hot and heavy. But also slow and sweet. It’s everything Regina imagined and more. It’s everything Regina has ever wanted.
They soon release, having run out of breath. “Oh my god Reg, you don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that,” Lily breathes out. Regina can only giggle in response. Lily starts to laugh with Regina. “You’re so cute, I like you so much,” Lily confesses. Regina’s heart rate all but doubles in speed. The moment is suddenly charged.
Instead of answering Regina quickly pecks Lily’s lips. “I’ve liked you since I first laid eyes on you three years ago,” Regina finds herself saying before she can stop herself.
“That’s so romantic, you’re so perfect Reg,” Lily laughs softly. “Be my girlfriend?” She asks quietly.
“Of course, now kiss me,” Regina smiles wide.
Lily, of course, complies bringing her lips to Regina’s in a sweet kiss that’s mostly smiles.
Regina could cry with happiness. Everything she’s wanted for years is all now happening because of her older sister.
“Lils, you’re so beautiful,” Regina breathes out her face that’s always impossibly red going redder.
“Oh angel, you’re simply divine,” Lily smiles. Kissing Regina with a soft smile on her lips.
