Chapter 1
Harry Potter was in his old room at number 4 privet Drive watching as his uncle Vernon, and cousin, Dudley loaded up the last of their things. His trunk was also packed a long with his ruck sack except for the last minute items. He couldn't believe that the time had finally come to leave his aunt and uncle's place. He had lived with them for almost 16 years. He didn't know what to expect except that he had a job to do. A job Dumbledore had left for him. Ron and Hermione volunteered to go with him, which he was thankful for.
Harry glanced at the clock and noticed that his escort would be here soon. He hurried to add the final items to his bag before walking out of the room for the final time. As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he saw his Aunt Petunia standing in the den. For the first time Harry could remember, she looked at him with concern. "16 years I've lived here and in one night I am expected to leave" Petunia said.
"They will torture you if you stay" Harry replied.
Petunia then looked at Harry again, this time with tears in her eyes. "You don't think I know what they are capable of? You didn't just lose your mother that night in Godric's hollow, you know. I lost a sister."
Harry was stunned into silence. In all the years he has lived with the Dursleys, not once did his aunt mention his mother with tenderness. Petunia didn't wait for Harry to reply before moving to the door. Just before walking out, she turned and looked back at her nephew. "Be safe, Harry. I don't know what you are doing or where you are going, but please be careful."
With that Petunia walked to the car where Dudley and Vernon waited.
"Guess this is it" Vernon hissed.
"I don't understand" Dudley spoke up. "Isn't he coming with us?"
"Absolutely not" Vernon hissed. "He doesn't want to. Isn't that right, boy?"
"Right" Harry replied. "After all I am just a waste of space, right Vernon?"
Vernon didn't reply but turned to get into the car, but Dudley, walked towards Harry. Harry had to fight his instinct to raise his hands in defense when Dudley held his hand out. As they shook hands, Dudley smiled. "I don't think you're a waste of space."
"Thanks" Harry whispered as Dudley headed back to the car. "See ya big D" Harry added before heading back into the house.
30 minutes later Harry was taking a final walk through the house when he heard a noise come from outside. He gripped his wand and headed to the door. When he opened the door he was greeted by Hagrid, Hermione and Ron. Harry's eyes then widened as he noticed the others. There was Madeye Moody, Remus Lupin, Tonks, Fred, George, Mr. Weasley, Bill, Fleur, Kingsley and Mundungus Fletcher. "What" Harry began but Madeye waved him off. "We will explain, Potter. Now, is everyone here? Right. We have been betrayed and inorder to make sure Voldemort and his followers don't know about you being moved we are escorting you. Each Potter will have a protector."
"Wai? Each Potter?"
"You're familiar with this particular brew, right?" Madeye asked with a slight smirk. Harry's eyes widened when he realized what was happening. "No. I won't have anyone risking their lives for me."
"Not like we haven't done that before" Ron said.
"This is different " Harry snapped. "You all are becoming me."
"Everyone here is over age" Madeye said. "Alright Granger. Like we discussed.
Hermione then stomped forward and grabbed some hairs from Harry's head and walked to Madeye who held the flask. "Fair warning. Polyjuice tastes like goblin piss."
"Had a lot of experiences with that, haven't you?" George asked. Harry bit his lip to keep from laughing as Madeye ordered Fred, George, Ron, Hermione, Fleur and Mundungus to drink from the flask.
Soon 6 Harry's was standing before everyone else and Harry had to stop himself from laughing. This was outrageous. Madeye then handed clothes to the other Harry's and told them to get changed before telling Harry to also get changed as he paired everyone up. Harry was with Hagrid. Mundungus was with Madeye. Fred with Arthur. George with Remus. Hermione with Kingsley. Ron with Tonks and Fleur with Bill.
Once outside Madeye told everyone to get ready. "We will rendezvous at the burrow. On the count of three."
Once Madeye said three, Hagrid pushed on the gas and Harry cell back against his seat as they took off. Everything seemed to be going fine until they got in the clouds. That was when they got surrounded by death eaters. Spells firing off left and right. Hagrid floored the gas as Harry yelled for him to go back. "No can do Harry, Madeye's orders" Hagrid yelled.
Harry grabbed his wand and fired off spells at the death eaters. One death eater got close to hitting Harry when Hedwig came swooping in. Harry watched in horror as his owl was hit with the killing curse. The death eater that had been pursuing them backed off and Harry was confused. That was until his scar hurt. Voldemort. Harry was hanging on for death life as Hagrid steered the bike trying to get to the burrow. How it happened, Harry didn't know. He didn't even move his hand. It was as if the wand took over and pointed itself at Voldemort. Their wands connected, green light hitting red. Harry was struggling to hold on as they crossed the barrier leading to the burrow. The last thing Harry heard was Voldemort screaming as they plummeted to the ground. Harry fell out of the side car the closer they got to the ground. Hagrid crashed in the pond but when Hagrid looked around Harry was no where to be seen. Molly and Ginny Wesley was running to where Hagrid was as Hagrid yelled for Harry, but to no avail. Harry wasn't there.
