Can’t remember how to say your name

It had been a year since the wizarding war, Everyone Marlene knew had died and her best friend had obliviated herself. She was utterly alone. She didn’t blame Mary of course she was trying to survive, Marlene knew that. But she had never got the chance to confess her love.

Marlene had dedicated the past year in trying to find Mary MacDonald, the love of her life. She had gotten use to the feeling of the horrid tasting alcohol dripping down her throat, finding comfort in the burning sensation she got in her chest everytime she finished a bottle.

It always reminded her of Mary

Of course if she could she would let go, it hurt her more then it comforted her and she knew it but the pain reminded her of the girl she use to know, with a smile so bright she could replace the sun and with a face so beautiful you’d think she’s a goddess. That was her Mary

Marlene prowled through a narrow street, her hands in her pockets and her head looking down at her feet. She had narrowed down a small flower shop owned that was self ran by a young women, every indicator pointed Marlene to this shop.

Marlene was nervous, what if Mary was different, what if she didn’t like her. What if it wasn’t Mary.

But anyway she pushed through her worry’s and stopped in-front of the decorated door. Marlene ran her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath before pushing the door open and stepping in. As she got closer to the front she had forgotten how to walk, reminding herself to put one foot in-front of the other.

It was welcoming, with a scent of vanilla and honey and warm lights that made you feel cozy and safe.

This was Mary, Marlene knew it

”Hello?” Marlene spoke, trying to find someone  in this small shop, her voice was shaky and frightened.

Just as Marlene was about to walk out a women came stumbling into the front apologising frantically.

It was Mary, her Mary. Marlene nearly cried at seeing her love for the first time in nearly two years but composed herself when she realised Mary hadn’t a clue who she was and breaking down crying wasn’t a good way to make a first impression.

”hi, I’m Marlene.” She stated, the tears still threatening to spill onto her cheeks.

”Mary.” The other girl added with the softest smile Marlene had ever witnessed.

”did you need anything?” Mary asked, tilting her head to the side slightly.

“oh um yeah, just some lily’s please.” The word Lily tasted like puke in Marlene’s mouth and she wanted to gag and cry and scream. The girl she had been in love with since she was 12 was right in-front of her and she didn’t know who she was.

”what for, may I ask?” Mary questioned grabbing a fresh bouquet of lily’s and putting them on the counter.

”funeral.” Marlene answered scratching the back of her head.

”oh I’m so sorry for your loss, you know what. Just have them, free of charge.” Mary said pushing them towards Marlene as a sign to just grab them.

”thanks.”

As soon as Marlene left the shop the tears began to flow down her cheeks all the way to the cemetery. She had gotten use to the cemetery, the cold and dark feeling of it every-time she entered never went away.

She put the lily’s on Lily potter’s grave and broke down lying down next to it.

To anyone else she looked like a drunken who had passed out on a random grave. But Marlene didn’t care, she needed a hug and that was the only person who was willing to.
