Quidditch is going to the dogs
The next week was busy the routine getting set. The weekend had Marcus Flint having to leave for the weekend. His grandfather had passed from a heart ailment and the service was the Saturday, The tryouts were on hold so going over to see the Gryffindor ones were the next top bill item. Elizabeth was just as a bored as the week before except to cheer Ginny on. She was trying out for chaser. And her Broom skills were much much better than the others trying out. But The established Chasers had the jobs still. Everyone told her from Wood on down come back next year and that her broom skills while already were excellent would be the area to keep sharp. Watching Harry dealing with the Snitch was hands over the best. The cheers from his parents and Good Parents was over the top. But the seats were otherwise empty. Professor Lupin was rather pale so when Elizabeth asked if she might see him Sunday night for a follow on bit of tutoring. His complexion paled a bit more and he nixed the idea on the spot. Lily made an offer to help after dinner. Which Elizabeth accepted.
Sunday she came down to the medical wing and Andi sat her down and did a scan to get a baseline for her health. And then after laying back had her drink a potion. While she got drowsy she could say she did not fall asleep. She did not hear the words or see the wand movements. But soon there she was. The place was the area near the large coat of arms at the entrance. On the ground there next to brazier was ..Well her. as she had been. Hurt . Broken. afraid. The face even filled with an innocence/ Like she could not understand why this had happened. She saw Crabbe standing at the rail looking down. An air of amusement on his face. She walked to her younger self. She took the girl in her arms and held her. Crabbe walked back down and her younger self tried to escape. Flee anything but be there for more hurting. Elizabeth turned and looked at the boy. She stood. the anger sweeping through her. She felt bigger. She felt furry? Furry? Yeah Furry it was a brown fur covering all she could see. "She yelled at Crabbe. "NO MORE!!!" it wa not words it was a growl like the Bear she was feeling like. She had seen a movie about a Bear Cub losing its mother and by need facing dangers being adopted by another in this case male bear. and when the cub was facing a mountain lion and corners the cub Howled and it seemed it scared the lion away.
But as it turned there was the male bear standing no longer howling at the Lion but she knew the older bear helped save the younger one. Just as she had just done. She no longer needed to fear that she was alone. She no longer needed to let her fear overwhelm her. She might need to do this a few more times. But that she need not fear the others. Now she could just be.
When she awoke. Andi smiling down commented. "You do a very loud angry bear roar.. I hope we have gotten you to see that you can find that innocence within yourself. That you do not need to remain on guard all the time waiting." the healer said. As she went to dinner she felt better and realized she was skipping. She had not done that long enough to know it was a long time since she had done it. So she skipped down the hall. happy and free. "Bird in the sky you know I feel. Sun up in sky you know how I feel. Breeze drifting on by, You know how I feel." She sang dancing down the hallway.
As Lily was tutoring Elizabeth on these method in Arithmancy there was a distant wolf howl outside the school. "That is odd."she said at her teacher." In three years we never had a wolf come near school . That was close enough to be heard. I wonder if we could get a view of it. That could be cool. " Elizabeth added on fidgeting in her seat. Maybe we could see it from the Astronomy tower. I know we might see it with my telescope. What do you say Professor?" She looked over at Lily who was looking uncomfortable . "Ah no there is not real need. It has happened in the past...." But where is the harm of using the tower?" Elizabeth interrupted. " Come on." she said hoping out of her seat and headed for the door. "No. Elizabeth we need to get this lesson finished."
Lily's tone had an smidge of fear Elizabeth "It is just the third lesson and not even due till next week. What is wrong?" she asks. "Nothing. Just not wanting to go back over this next week." Lily said, Elizabeth looked hard at the woman. "Well I will hit Theo up for help then." she said at the professor and walked towards the door. Lily follows her to the door. "Elizabeth. Please just leave the wolf alone. " Elizabeth turned around. " I was just thinking from the tower we could use a telescope and that being as close as I was planning on getting. As far as I know wolves do not climb towers." she says and sees Lily's eyes. "They don't right?" a pause "That is not a wolf. Is it?" Lily sighed "No it is not." "Ok say no more." Elizabeth tells her. The woman opens the door. "Good night Elizabeth." "And goodnight Professor." child replies. She make her way to her rooms.
