Howl Of The Celestial Wolf Cub

Chapter 1

According to legend, the world was on two different occasions, a century apart, covered by the darkness formed from the malice of a powerful Demon. According to the legend, the Demon’s name was Yamata no Orochi. The Demon was defeated and slain on both occasions by the Celestial Wolf. Little did the people of the country that the legend originated from that the legend was not only real but also that, through a series of events and circumstances involving a shapeshifter with questionable intentions and the Celestial Wolf’s son, the Celestial Wolf had a whole bloodline of descendants, the Ōkami-clan, who migrated and spread across the world over the centuries.

Amongst the many branches of the Ōkami-clan, more specifically the one that would have been considered the main branch of the clan didn’t stay in the country of Nippon (or Japan as it had become known over time) but chose to migrate and spread across the lands of Europe before eventually reaching the shores of the country known as Great Britain. The place where two members of the latest generations of the Ōkami-clan were born. Yuri Ōkami-Potter and her daughter, Haruko Ōkami-Potter, who was also the child of a local by the name of James Potter, who Yuri married.

In addition to being members of the Ōkami-clan, and possessing certain traits in a… package of traits, both Yuri and her daughter possessed the ability to use Magic. Making the mother and daughter Witches and granting them access to a special ability of the Ōkami-clan, the ability to partially and completely transform into the visage of their alleged ancestors. White Wolves. While both of them possessed the ability to transform into White Wolves (and a ‘halfway point’ of sorts (similar to a Werewolf, but without the whole ‘going feral’ part)), Haruko’s transformation was slightly different from her mother’s, not that Yuri nor her husband noticed. The presence of mysterious red markings on her in her White Wolf-form, which was only a small wolf cub due to the fact she was only a baby (and a baby-werewolf-like form), that only a very small amount of humans could see and even fewer knew the importance of.

And while Yuri knew of the importance of the red markings, she couldn’t actually see them. Despite having some aptitude for perceiving things that were imperceptible to most people, the most Yuri could do was vaguely feel the aforementioned ‘things’ presence, but not much more. Haruko on the other hand, could not only actually see the things in question but also outright physically touch them… not that it really meant much due to the fact that, being a baby, Haruko didn’t really do much outside the typical actions of a baby, even if the things that she could see were… unsettling, which understandably made her cry (and howl) for her mother considerably more often than not, and (rather un-understandably to most people) led to Haruko becoming easily unsettled whenever she saw fish.
