Day 14

He shivered in bed, still sick with the sensation of a sadness without end.

Dudley expected any minute to hear his mother checking on him. He would continue feigning unconsciousness but he would not sleep this night. Even though he was desperate for rest, he was too terrified of the looping memories that might begin if he did.

Would he ever feel normal again?

He didn’t know.

Two things he did know, Death had reached for Dudley that summer’s night and Harry Potter had risked his own life, to save someone who had never been anything but cruel to him.
