DEAR MARINA

09/03/2005

Dear Marina,

I have received your letter yesterday, and I think it’s pretty safe to say that I am VERY concerned for your well being. You mentioned in your letter that you were having family problems at home, and I want to ask if you were alright. I know that this is hard for you, and I want you to know that I’m here for you.

I also hope that your mother is doing okay, tell her I said hi for me, alright?

I probably had told you this hundreds of times already, but you always know that you can stay with me if you want to, right? You don’t have to go through this alone, Marina.

You can say that you have “everything” under control, but I’m not that stupid! We’ve been best friends since second grade for crying out loud!

Anyways, please write back to me ASAP! I’m leaving the country for a few months and I would hate to leave without receiving your letter. (Also I may or may not be worried that my grandma might open the letter while I’m gone and discover that I’m still talking to you…)

P.S, I’ve put a strawberry bonbon in the envelope so you could eat it. I know it’s your favorite, it’s sweet. Like you!

Love,
Catherine
