Eyes of Silver with Platinum Hair

The sun shone over Harry and Elizabeth as they made their way to the next stop of their excursion. Whilst the goblins went about with their audit of the Potter Vaults, they were free to go about their shopping for Harry's first year at Hogwarts.
"Now, I think we should save your wand for last, my spark."
Harry simply nodded, his eyes drawn towards Quality Quidditch Supplies. "Mam Ma, do you think we could visit the quidditch shop before we head home?"
Elizabeth smiled and looked down to Harry.
"Perhaps. Now let's get your robes."
Harry soon entered the robe shop, a rounder woman in fuchsia robes swept into the waiting room to greet her customers. "Welcome welcome!" she looked down to Harry and smiled. "Hogwarts, dear? I remember when I first got my letter, oh I was so overjoyed. Now let's see, you'll need a few sets of the uniform, though the mandatory black hat is sold elsewhere. If you'd like to wait here, ma'am, we'll have your boy measured up and his robes tailored in no time!"

Elizabeth smiled as Harry was led through to the back and stood on a small platform. He was directed to lift his arms when he noticed a girl with platinum hair that reached down to her shoulder blades and a black headband keeping it away from her face. Her face held regal cheek bones and an angular jaw with a gentle curve, portraying a soft yet confident aura. The way she held herself spoke of her origins, that of a pureblood like the ones his Mam Ma spoke of. The only thing he didn't know was if she'd held the beliefs of a typical pureblood or if her family had taught her like Elizabeth had taught him.
As the magical tape began to measure him, as he stood himself like a proper heir, the girl looked over to him and smirked. "Hogwarts as well?"
Harry turned to her and smiled. "Oh yes! I'm quite excited, really. Yourself?"
The girl scoffed, though Harry didn't think it was of any malice or derision. "Naturally. Do you know which house you're to be sorted? I'm sure to belong to Slytherin."
"I'm not to sure, really. My grandfather was a Slytherin, however my grandmother was a Ravenclaw. I know my parents were Gryffindors when they'd attended. Perhaps I'll join Hufflepuff, round out the family?"

The girl scrunched her nose at that. "Why would you want to be a Hufflepuff. Everyone looks down on you and thinks you're an easy target if you're sorted there."
Harry felt that she was speaking someone else's opinion, though he wasn't going to call her out on it. Yet.
"I'm Danica Malfoy. Who might you be, if I may ask?"
Harry's eyes took a gleam of mischief before he smiled politely and held his head a touch higher. "My apologies for not recognizing a family friend, Heir Malfoy. My name is Harrison James Riddle. My grandmother says that Grandfather and Lord Abraxas were quite good friends in school."
Danica's eyes widened. While not a pure blooded house, the name 'Riddle' held a notoriety amongst polite wixen society for their innovations to certain techniques of magic. Not to mention that how he had mentioned their grandfathers being friends in school.

"Is that your mother talking with my grandmother?"
Danica looked and saw her mother speaking with an older woman with raven black hair and fashionable if somewhat older robes along with circular glasses not unlike Harrisons. She didn't see the polite smiles for company, but a genuine and heartfelt smile that Danica thought had only been for family.
Danica watched as her mother appeared to be near tears as she talked to the older woman. She was only brought back to reality as Madam Malkin declared Harrisons robes done.

With his fitting done, Harry turned towards Danica and smiled. "If you'd like, You're welcome to sit with me on the Hogwarts Express. I'd like to still be friends even if we aren't in the same house!" He said with a charming smile and a touch of cheek before approaching his grandmother and Lady Malfoy.
Once more Danica was flummoxed by the boy, though this time with a tinge of pink in her cheeks.
"Ah, That was rather fast." Elizabeth had said before turning towards Narcissa. "It's been lovely seeing you again, Narcissa. Please send Abraxas my well wishes."
She gently held Narcissa's hands with a matronly smile on her face before quietly speaking. "If the Malfoy Family ever finds themselves in need, come to me and I will aid in every way I can. Remember this promise, Narcissa."
Standing with a regal air, Elizabeth smiled to Harry. "We wish you a good evening, Lady Malfoy, to you and your daughter."
"Good bye, Lady Malfoy." Harry said with a slight bow.
With that, the both of them left the robe shop and proceeded to visit all of the various shops Harry would need to visit for his school supplies. Harry had been particularly interested in the potions shop, so Elizabeth had of course offered to teach him more advanced potions and some techniques later. Elizabeth smiled before guiding Harry into Magical Menagerie.

Harry walked through the store, looking at the various pets and animals in the shop. While kneazle kittens were cute and crup puppies were adorable, they didn't speak to him. All of these animals yet not one of them called out to his magic. That was, until he heard a small voice.

Why does no one desire me? Am I ugly? Am I too small?

Harry listened and made his way towards the reptiles section of the store. When he got there, he looked in the displays. There were a few snakes, some spoke up though they were slightly disinterested when Harry saw a small curled in on itself. Harry looked at the snake before smiling.
"Hello. My name is Harry. What's your name?
The snake looked up to Harry, surprise on her face. "A speaker wants my name?"
Harry nodded.
"My name is Strai. Though I am not big I promise to be good for you, Speaker Harry."
As Strai lifted her head, Harry got a better view of her. Her scales shimmered in the light like puddles of oil in the sun while her stomach scales reminded him of straps of fabric holding together a sweater or something similar. Her emerald eyes had also drawn him in and he knew that she was his familiar.
"Would you like to be my familiar, Strai?"
The snake readily agreed and Elizabeth smiled to her grandson. He was so much like her husband that her heart ached, yet such a treasure of a grandson. Where both were knowledgeable, Harry had been more spontaneous. Where Tom had been inquisitive, Harry had been cautious.
If only Tom could see the wonderful boy he had as a grandson.

"Mam Ma, are we going to get my wand now?"
Elizabeth smiled and nodded. "Let's go to Olivanders. It's where Tom and I got our wands when we were children. I have no doubt that your parents had gotten their wands from here as well. Now go on, your wand won't wait forever."

The two entered the old store and were greeted by the surplus of wand boxes all stacked so haphazardly all about the store and on shelves.
Suddenly an older gentleman with crazed white hair and a gentle smile slid from the back of his store on a ladder. "I wondered when I'd be seeing you, Mr. Potter. A lovely day to you as well, Mrs. Riddle. Alder and Dragon Heartstring, ten and three fourths, partially unbending."
Elizabeth smiled as she produced her wand. "Indeed, Mr. Olivander. Quite powerful indeed."
Olivander simply chuckled and shook his head while Harry gawked at the gentleman who had known his secret. "Well, It certainly takes a powerful witch to master that particular combination." He browsed amongst his boxes as Harry was once more measured by magical tape. "As for young Harry... Ah. Here we are. Apple wood and Unicorn hair. Well, give it a wave."
Harry looked at the wand with slight trepidation. It didn't feel right but he swished the wand when suddenly a bunch of wand boxes shot off the shelf.
Olivander looked to the scattered products and clicked his tongue. "Apparently not. Well perhaps... this."
Harry takes hold of another wand, this one Ebony. His hand barely twitched when the storefront windows crack, leaving a spiderweb of cracks.

"Incredible! Certainly not that one, far too excitable. Perhaps the connection relies on the family." He glanced back to Harry and Elizabeth as she repaired the shop windows with a quick non verbal spell.
"Yes... His grandson..."
Olivander reverently walked back and pulled a silvery black box. He walked back out to the shops register. He opened the box with shaky hands in anticipation. "Perhaps... This one."
Harry held the wand and suddenly it clicked for him. A swirl of gold and silver wrapped around Harry as he stared at the wand. He could feel tears in his eyes as if he could feel the gentle love of his family. Like a hug from his parents... or a reassuring hand on his shoulder from his grandpa.

Olivander nodded, a sad smile on his face. "I hope you know the significance of that wand, my boy. The Phoenix whos feather resides in that wand gave only one other feather. The same feather that resides in your grandfather's wand. He was a great man, who had accomplished great things."
Olivander sighed while Elizabeth held a hand over her mouth, tears in her eyes.
"I only hope, my boy, that you can follow in Tom's footsteps and be a good man."

Harry turned and hugged Elizabeth, tears streaming down his face. His face burned and he felt such a mix of emotions that he couldn't explain. He rushed to his Mam Ma's skirts and wrapped his arms around her waist as the two cried together. Tears of pride and love as the emotions of the room swelled. In that moment did Harry make a promise to himself. That he would do his family proud. His mother, father and Grandpa Tom.

All of them.
