Chapter 1
Fifth year has finally started, after years of dealing with Mori, Dazai finally decided that it was time to accept that he needed help. Even though it took him at least five years, later is better than never, right?
He started living with Snape not too long ago, when he told Mori that he wouldn’t tell anything about the Port Mafia. Now, you didn’t think he just left like that, did you? Before running away, he made sure to repay Mori for his…kindness and left him a little gift.
(He obviously did not set all the documents on fire, no…)
Anyways, here he was, sitting on the Gryffindor table, eating breakfast with the Weasleys. Of course he wanted to sit with the loyalty club, but they were in the Slytherin common room, finishing homework for one of their classes that was due today. He didn’t want to admit it, but he had gotten really attached to Pansy, even though they didn’t have the best relationship in the past, they supported each other in everything and he told her almost everything that happened to him.
It was almost time for the first period of class, Dazai, thinking that he survived breakfast without having to eat anything, finally relaxed. Unfortunately for him, the twins were waiting for that exact moment and suddenly, he was being held back in his chair, while they were slowly putting a toast in his mouth. At first he resisted, but ended up giving up and taking a few bites.
When they finally let go of him, he sighed out of pure relief. Contrary to what some believe, he is not a fan of attention, especially when he is eating. It gives him stress and becomes nauseous. Fortunately, his friends knew he had limits and didn’t push more.
Just as he was going to get up and leave, something caught his attention. A blonde Gryffindor was approaching the table of professors and stopped in front of the headmistress to talk. He stared at him for a moment, completely forgetting what he was supposed to do. The boy was tall, and certainly had some type of attractiveness. He continued to stare until someone spoke up.
“Hey Dazai… are you ok?” Asked Ginny
Dazai got a bit startled since he zoned out but still responded.
“Why Ginny, of course I’m alright… I just saw something interesting”
“Really? But I saw you looking at-“
“Dazaii c’mon!!! We’re bored!” Interrupted George as Dazai silently cursed at the loss of a possible name.
“Alright, alright. Let’s go to the gang room, I’ll tell some prank ideas I recently got.”
When they about to leave the room, he finally looked back but the boy had already left where he last saw him. He was left a bit disappointed, he had finally found something that wasn’t biting at hogwarts but it didn’t last. It was the first time he had noticed him in 5 years, maybe it was the first and the last.
