Chapter 3

“So let me get this straight,” Danny was floating in midair with his legs criss-crossed, Tucker once again being sprawled along a bean bag, and Sam taking to leaning against a wall—her eyes never leaving the Golden Trio’s general direction.

Danny shifted in the air so he could make eye contact with Harry better, “You are all wizards attending a school for magic named Hogwarts—”

Tucker snorted and then badly attempted to cover it with a cough.

“—And your professor for telling the future or whatever told you a prophecy stating that Harry, Vlad, and I have to defeat the Wizarding Version of Hitler named Voldemort—”

Another snort covered cough came from Tucker.

“—who tried to kill Harry here as a baby and failed, making him this Chosen One thingy. Oh, and you all got here by portal because Clockwork ohsoloves to mess with me,” Danny pinched the bridge of his nose, “Did I get everything?”

Hermione, Ron, and Harry were all squished together in one bean bag; sticking close by each other in case Danny didn’t believe them and attacked.

“Yeah,” Harry rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, “That’s pretty much about everything,”

Danny let out a small groan before he floated downwards and stood next to Tucker and Sam.

“So when do we leave?” The halfa sighed tiredly.

The Wizard trio blinked.

“What?” Ron sputtered in shock.

“When do we leave?” Sam reinforced for him, “We should probably get to Hogwarts—Tucker, I swear if you laugh again I will break your kneecaps—relatively soon,”

“You…you believe us? Just like that?” Hermione asked, her eyes wide, “You don’t even want us to show you magic to prove it?”

“Naw,” Tucker yawned nonchalantly, “This is the kinda unbelievable stuff that would definitely be real for us. We’re kinda prone to the impossible becoming possible,”

He jabbed a thumb in Danny’s direction, “See Exhibit A,”

Danny snorted, “Really feelin’ the love right now, Tuck. So, when do we leave? I’m not leaving Sam and Tuck behind, though. They’ve been with me since the start, and if they don’t come, I don’t go.”

“Dumbledore would probably let them come,” Harry told them, “But you’d have to ask him,”

“Dumbledore…” Sam looked deep in thought for a moment before her face molded into a worried and urgent expression.

“Snape, Dumbledore, and McGonagall are all wizards, too, right?” She asked them quickly.

“Uh, yeah? Why?” Ron raised an eyebrow.

Suddenly the three friends jumped up, Tucker scrambling to grab his PDA (which he had explained what it was for about thirty minutes to the wizards) while Sam activated her wrist ray as Danny ran to the door and flung it open.

“What’s going on?” Harry jumped up, worried about why they were acting so scared.

“Vlad!” Danny ran out the door, “We left your professors with Vlad!”

The Golden Trio visibly relaxed.

“I’m sure they’ll just explain everything like we did,” Hermione smiled, “No need to worry,”

Massive need to worry,” Tucker tapped quickly on his PDA, “I’m disengaging the lasers now,”

“Lasers?!” Ron yelped.

“And the alligator pit?” Sam chimed in.

Shoot, I knew I forgot something!”

“Wait,” Harry’s breath slightly quickened, “You don’t think that Mr. Masters would actually hurt our professors, do you?”

They didn’t get to answer when a loud BANG and the sound of a small but powerful explosion went off from a few rooms down the hall.

“Yeah,” Tucker sighed, “Yeah, we do,”

Vlad!” Danny’s voice echoed through the house, “Don’t kill or maim the wizards!”

Another explosion followed as the remaining teens ran out of the Chaos Room and after Danny.

Harry was trying very hard not to laugh at the sight in front of him.

Ron was not.

The second-youngest Weasley was off to the side of the large training room they were in, wheezing as he tried to catch his breath from laughing.

In his defense, it wasn’t every day you saw your dark and brooding potions professor strung up in a glowing green rope like a cheap pinata from the dollar store.

“Fifty points from Gryffindor,” Snape growled out, “Now get me down,”

Dumbledore, who had been trapped in the same kind of rope but was sat on the ground rather than strung upwards, turned to face Danny in his bindings, “I suppose you’ve already been informed of our reasons for being here?”

“Yeah, Magic Hitler, prophecy for dinner, Clockwork needs a new hobby that doesn’t involve making my half-life suck even more than it already does—oh, and Fate hates me while Irony loves me. So yeah, I got it all.” Danny did sarcastic jazz hands as he untied Dumbledore and helped him up.

“An interesting way to look at it,” The Headmaster chuckled.

“An accurate way to look at it,” Danny sighed in annoyance.

Vlad was standing off to the side as he gave a death glare towards Snape, who had just been lowered down and untied with the help of McGonagall—who had been tied just as Dumbledore was—and was returning the eldest halfa’s glare tenfold.

“So,” Hermione smiled nervously, “Uh…we should probably start over with the truth, huh?”

“That’d be a wonderful place to start,” Vlad drawled out as he crossed his arms while tapping his foot impatiently.

“Not without dinner first,” Tucker inputted, “Milkshakes before magic,”

“That’s not an actual saying,” Sam raised an eyebrow at her friend.

“It is now,”

“Milkshakes on Vlad!” Danny grinned, “Then we can talk about evil snake dudes, pig acne schools, and magical wizarding wars!”

“I’d rather know why they’re here now,” Vlad shot a glare at his godson.

“And I’d rather have an eternal vanilla milkshake with butt-ton of sprinkles on top that’s never finished no matter how much you drink out of it, but we can’t all get what we want, now can we?” Danny shared the glare between his godfather and him.

For a moment, Danny’s eyes flashed glowing green while Vlad’s went glowing, pupiless red.

Whatever the two of them had been telepathically sharing with their glowing eyes finally ended when Vlad shut his now-normal colored eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Fine, but I’ll have it delivered while they explain everything,” Vlad shot a glare at the three adult wizards before walking out of the training room and down the hall.

“Well,” Snape drawled, “That could have gone better,”

“That was the best you could have gotten,” Danny shrugged, “I mean, he didn’t release Klemper on you, so you got off pretty easy,”

Danny gave a mischievous grin as he turned to face Snape, “Besides, who knew black and brooding was the new pinata color theme?”

Ron decided that he liked Danny very much at that moment.

“Harry,” Ron snickered, “I think Danny’s my new best friend, sorry mate,”

“Can’t blame you there,” Harry grinned as the two teen wizard boys mocked playfully at each other.

“Sorry, Red,” Tucker draped a hand on Danny’s shoulders, “That position has already been taken by Tucker T.F Foley,”

The four teenagers began to shove at each other and mock playfully all together as the two remaining teens just sighed.

“Boys,” Sam and Hermione said in unison before letting out laughs.

“How do you survive with those two?” Hermione chuckled.

“I could ask you the same thing,” Sam shook her head playfully.

The two giggled as they followed the boys and adults out of the room.

Vlad Masters was oddly fine with them being wizards and the whole reasoning for them being there—Hermione had thought it was because he genuinely (though he hid it) wanted to help, but Ron chalked it up to him now being able to mess with Snape as much as he wanted knowing the professor couldn’t do anything while he, Danny, and Harry were now revealed as the Chosens.

The evidence for his reasoning?

The fact Vlad insisted on staying in ghost form as it “heightened his senses to magic” rather than being reminded that Snape couldn’t do anything to him and that the halfa could annoy him as much as he pleased without consequence.

And it was, in fact, working as Snape’s eye was twitching quite aggressively.

Despite having seen a magical projection of Vladms ghost form of Plasmius, it gave no preparation to truly seeing it right in front of you.

The air just seemed unnaturally colder and more still, tense and anxious. It reminded Harry of the few moments before disaster would strike—which he had become very accustomed to over the years of him being at Hogwarts.

Plasmius’ glowing, pupiless red eyes was like looking into lava pits, almost as though you’d burn if you stared too much. His teeth were fanged and far too lengthened and sharp, giving him the feeling of a predator—and the aura of power, raw energy, and just barely-contained danger that surrounded him only made Vlad Plasmius’ frightening appearance heighten incredibly.

Danny remained in his human form, the only show of power he gave was when he’d make his eyes glow green whenever he and Vlad countered each other.

So it happened often during their conversation.

“Since Clockwork sent you here for three days,” Plasmius thought out loud, “I believe it’d be a beneficial idea to train both separately and together. You six have magic on your side, Daniel and I have our powers, and Miss Manson and Mr Foley have their own skills and collection of rather unique weapons; but being able to expand our skills and get used to another’s fighting style is necessary for us to work together.”

“And how do you propose that we ‘expand’ our skill sets?” Snape’s eye twitched once more as Vlad shot a blast of ecto-energy into the fireplace, the two men glaring at each other the whole time, “You can’t do magic and we have no powers beyond magic,”

“What about normal weapons?” Danny, who was floating off to the side as though he was lying down on an invisible bed, stared at the professor, “I’m not too great at using weapons, and my hand-to-hand could be better, too.”

“Do any of you have any self-defense training?” Sam asked the wizards.

No one—but McGonagall, surprisingly—gave any type of an answer.

The wizards, Halfas, and the two humans all stared at the witch in shock.

“I had to be prepared if I was ever disarmed during a battle,” McGonagall dismissed their stares as she sipped her tea, “And I find that expanding our knowledge in multiple battle abilities and skills to be a good idea, I assume we would train in the training room from earlier?”

“You mean Ol’ Sourpuss here’s Piñata Room?” Tucker snickered as Ron and Harry had to bite their tongues to keep them from laughing out loud.

“Yeah, we’ll start training tomorrow morning,” Danny answered, “So everyone get ready for a long day of sore muscles and ice packs!”

“I’m sure we can handle it,” Snape sneered.

The two Halfas glanced at one another, each with a mischievous and slightly worrisome grins on their faces.

“We’ll see,” Danny chuckled.

Ron’s gulp was audible before they all retired to their respective bedrooms.

“I’m sure it won’t be so bad to train with them,” Harry changed into the sleepwear conjured up for him by Dumbledore as Ron climbed into his bed on the other side of their shared guest room.

“I don’t know, mate,” Ron shook his head as he yawned, “I think it might be a bit tougher than you’re expecting,”

“Oh, come on,” Harry gave a positive response as he climbed into his own bed, “How hard can it be?”

Harry turned of the light to their room while Danny chuckled as he walked past their door, “Famous last words, Harry. Famous last words…”

Tomorrow is going to be fun.
