Technician Harry (Working Title)
Synopsis

Takes place before Harry’s 5th year.
Harry’s uncle gets transferred to a branch office in America. Harry…doesn’t actually mind. After some thought, he comes to the conclusion that his friends aren’t that great; yes, they helped him during his “adventures” in school, but other then that: Hermione is a muggle-born and knows how to use a phone, yet not once has she tried to call him when any letters she sent didn’t get delivered, Ron abandoned him last year out of jealousy and it took Harry nearly dying to a dragon for Ron to believe him about not putting his name in The Goblet and not wanting to be a Champion. Not to mention the other two’s constant bickering that somehow, Harry always got dragged into the middle of.
On top of that, Hogwarts is supposed to be the safest place in the UK Yet, in Harry’s 1st year he: faced a troll that shouldn’t have been able to get into the school, had his broom cursed – by one of his own teachers - which could have severely hurt him, almost had his head bitten off by a Cerberus, strangled by Devil’s Snare, speared by enchanted keys, crushed/or beheaded by giant chess pieces, risked being poisoned (thank Magic for Hermione for this one) and faced down Voldemort himself. 2nd year was the Chamber and everyone turning on him. 3rd year had the dementors, Wormtail escaped making it impossible to prove his godfather’s innocence and he was nearly eaten by a werewolf; not that he blamed Remus of course, it wasn’t the man’s fault. And of course, last year.
So yes, Harry didn’t mind moving at all. In fact, he sees this as an opportunity.
Plot Points
• Harry goes to Gringotts to talk to his account manager and transfer his money to an account in the American branch of the bank.
• Harry, upon arriving in America, immediately leaves his relatives at the airport to head to his own place – a small place he bought for himself while back in Brittian.
• One of the first things he does after settling in to his new home is sign up for online courses to catch up on his muggle education.
• Harry gets a job as an unpaid intern of the mechanical engineering and software developer program (it’s unpaid because, 1: Fazbear entertainment, and 2: the program is more of an on-the-job training program typically taken up by high schoolers for college credit and college students for the experience alongside their course work with the expectation that they’ll be hired upon graduation).
