Chapter 5

Seamus woke up unusually early to next day. Getting out of bed with a scratch of his head and a yawning stretch, he made his way to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Making it into the common area, he saw everyone already up and about.

"Guess I wasn't up as early as I thought." He quipped with a chuckle.

"No, it's early. I think we were all just eager to get an idea about what's going on." Hannah spoke.

He gave her a nod before turning to the portrait. "So? What's up?"

Salazar Slytherin seemed to give him a disgruntled look. Probably for his 'ineloquence' – Slytherins seemed to care a lot about that. He eventually answered, though.

"Hogwarts heirs are assigned to those students who are most qualified to help in the situation that Hogwarts needs them. Hannah Abbott, you are needed to bring together the Gryffindor and Slytherin heirs. If you aren't able to do this, Hogwarts will see war at its shores."

Hannah looked a little queasy at the prospect. Honestly, he would too if he had to bring the two biggest rivals together or risk war coming to Hogwarts.

"Why are Harry and Draco heirs of different houses than their own?" He questioned curiously.

"Mainly because of their roles and how they need to go about them." Godric said. "Draco needs to find the bravery in his heart to break away from his family's path in life while Harry needs to be cunning to win his fight. Quiet ambitious to fight a Dark Lord, as well." He finished with a huff.

"Oh, you're just jealous that he was almost sorted into my house – no need to get huffy." Salazar cut in.

What?

"Ha! Knew little Harrykins always had a bit of snake in him!" One of the twins burst out, fist bumping the other one.

Blaise gave an exaggerated shudder. "Could you imagine them in the same house?" A look of horror on his face. This only earned a light shove and a 'you'd live for the drama' from Theo.

"Ok, but I'm still stuck on the Ravenclaw thing. Why isn't she here? Have an heir?" Stephen Cornfoot cut in.

Helga gave a grievous sigh before answering. "That would be because she has been corrupt. Her magic that is. That is part of the reason for all of this, as well. "She looked to everyone seriously. "Now, what I'm about to say is incredibly important. So listen up.

Harry doesn't know this, but Voldemort created something known as Horcrux's. It is a Dark artifact that can give someone a limited immortality by splitting ones soul. He created seven of these.

Three of them we know of because they are made with artifacts that carry out magic. One is my chalice, one is Salazar's locket, and one is Rowena's diadem.

The chalice and locket are able to be separated, if you so wish, because our magic has not accepted it – the same cannot be said for the diadem. Her magic accepted the horcrux, and in doing so, severed her from the whole that is Hogwarts."

It was silent for a few moments after that. Whether in solemnity or horror, he didn't know. He was leaning into horror, though.

"Voldemort is immortal?! He used the founders relics!?" He exclaimed. This was getting out of hand, to put it lightly.

"I'm afraid so."

Well... Shit.

"How would I even begin to help?" Hannah all but whispered.

"I'm afraid I can not help with that." Helga bowed her head in apology.

"I would assume getting them on speaking terms would be first." Theo suggested sarcastically.

"Whatever you decide, you best be going now. You'll be missed before much longer. Do come back when you've acquired both boys?" Salazar spoke up, dismissing them."

They all gave their affirmation and farewells then, knowing he was right. Now that he was more focused on the present, he felt like any minute now umbridge would come out of the shadows and give them a detention.

They rushed out and went about their individual days, agreeing to meet up again when the heat died down. Although it took a few heated words to come to that agreement – some wanting to plan right away, sensing the urgency.

He could only hope that decision didn't bite them later.
