𐙚 chap. 7

When you woke up on the first of November, you had a tremendous headache. Emi told you a spell she'd learned to ward off hangovers. You gladly accepted the information, and attempted to use it. It turned out to be a fluke, and you were upset, but not at Emi. Just at whoever had lied to her. You pulled on a sweater, and a pair of jeans before heading down to lunch -- yes that's how late you woke up -- with the girls.

You slumped down onto the bench at the Ravenclaw table, and happily ate ate your Moony toast. There was bread, and the toppings around the table anyways, so you used a spell to toast your bread before going about the process of making it. You ate at least three rounds of the thing before you were filled up enough to stop the pounding in your head somewhat.

After you devoured your breakfast-lunch, brunch? You made your way back to the Ravenclaw tower, but when you arrived you remembered you'd finished all of your missing work yesterday, and you sighed to yourself. So, instead, you grabbed a chocolate frog, and made your way back down to the great hall. Once you were there, everyone was off doing their own thing, so you made your way outside to the quart yard.

You made your way to a bench that was sat snuggly under the canopy of trees, facing towards the black lake. You sat there for a while, just watching the giant squid's tentacles rise above the surface of the water. The most unexpected thing happened, though. Regulus made his way to your new-found bench, and sat on the other side of it, nose tucked in a book as it he didn't see you at all.

You cleared your throat at him, and he jumped. "Potter? What are you doing here?"
"I was sitting here before you showed up, Black." You scoffed.
"If you were sitting here I would've seen you."
"I thought the same thing, but apparently you aren't as sharp as you make yourself out to be." He rolled his eyes at that.
"Whatever, Potter. I guess you can stay here if you truly were sitting here before me. Just don't expect a conversation."

So you sat there in silence. It wasn't even uncomfortable, much to your surprise. Every once in a while, Regulus would look up from his book, and watch the squid with you. It splashed a first year, and you and Regulus exchanged a glance. You didn't know how long the two of you sat like that, not enjoying, but not exactly hating each others presence. The sun started to set by the time you two got up to go to dinner.

"Well, Potter I guess you aren't as much of a prat as your brother is. That wasn't the most horrible thing I've ever done, but don't think for a second that I enjoyed your company." He concluded.
"Same here," You agreed.
"All I'm saying, is that if you happen to beat me to the bench again, I guess I won't shun you away." You nodded to him.
"Whatever you say, Black." And those were the last words the two of you exchanged that night.

You met with Emi and Pandora for dinner, not walking with Regulus, though. You wouldn't be caught dead with him. You slid into the table, and tucked into your chicken and gravy. When you were done with dinner it was still relatively early considering you actually got there on time. That meant you had to wait for what felt like forever until you got your dessert.

You were almost going to give up and go to your dorm. But that was when James came over to where you were sitting, and dragged you back to the Gryffindor table. You were ushed into his previous seat next to Sirius, and the two boys trapped you in between themselves. You were about to ask what all of the fuss was about before James cut you off.

"My dearest little sister," He began. "why was I told by Wormtail that you were sitting next to our biggest enemy by the black lake?"
"James, we were just sitting on the same bench-" You attempted.
"Yes, because strangers sit on the same bench as each other." Sirius cut in. "I cannot believe you would sit by that little weasel."
"Boys, leave her alone." Lilly hollered from up the table. "Also Sirius, that's your brother, why are you not coming to his defense?"
"Lilly flower, not now." You groaned at the boys' antics.
"Guys, we didn't even talk to each other, okay?"
"I'm just trying to warn you [n/n]. The Slytherins are a bad crowd to be around." James concluded.

You slipped out of the spot you were trapped in, and went back to sit at your own table. You groaned, and lost your appetite by the time dessert came up. So, instead of waiting for the girls, you made your way back up to the Ravenclaw tower, glancing at Regulus as you left. He seemed just fine to be around. The boys were just being pricks. By the time you got up to the tower, people were starting to arrive as well. You just went up to your dorm, and got ready for bed. You plopped down in your bed and fell asleep.
