Ernie Mac, the way he clutched and cried over J. Finch I don’t believe it will ever disappear from his mind. His skin was white, and looked almost grey in the light. He almost sent the green light curse at the Deathbuddy when Justin’s body fell in front of him. Susie had to pull him away while he walled over the body. “Ernie, we have to go! We can come back for him later! We’ll come back I promise!” Susie had turned around at the sound of a green light curse, she pulled Ernie Mac away to the common room where he instructed her to run. He was still crying as he ran from the now cold hands of his lover. The narrator walked onto the stage, he took J. Finch’s leg and pulled away as Wayne entered.
The next time Ernie Mac saw his lover was in the great hall. Mister Voldy demanded Harry again, he disappeared shortly after. Megan and Oliver are standing by Ernie's side with Leanne, Sally Perks, and Wayne on the cots. When they got this many cots was never discovered. He ran out of tears when he went with Susie to bring him back. His lips dry and cracked, still wearing an old Quidditch jersey he somehow never grew out of, not that he wasn't tall in any way. He was almost taller then Ernie, something he never stopped teasing the boy about. His hair as soft as this morning when he arrived back to the castle. None of them noticed Harry’s absence marching was heard outside, Hagrid carrying Harry’s body as the Neville kid… pulled a sword from the sorting hat? When did that happen? War broke out again when Harry came back to life and shot Expellidermis at Mister Voldy, they retreated into the great hall once again. Ernie fought above his lover's body for the second time that day, with his fellow Puffs by his side. Harry had Expellidermis’ed the Dark Lord from the world in the center of the great hall. He probably said something about it but Ernie didn’t listen he just mourned. He thought about 6th year and how they as all the other Puffs did, snuck around classrooms and hallways to snogg and everything else they did. How they spent forever pretending to be into girls together only for them to never actually make dates while hoping no one would notice.
The Narrator enters. “And that was the end of the life of Ernie Mac, not quite in the literal sense. But in the way part of you leaves with others. The death of a pet, a parent, a child, a friend, or a lover. He died once then twice at the age of 43 after watching his many nieces and nephews of his Puffs family grow. Ernie never fully felt fulfilled by the end of his life. But in the end, he died peacefully in his room. Buried next to the boy who died for him all those years ago, the one he held onto forever. Some of his nieces and nephews, even his remaining friends say he woke up in an afterlife, a young boy again. With Justin Finch at his side in a mirror of the world they left. Now you might wonder am I involved in Ernie Mac’s life? Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you all but that story truly ends there. With not just the Boys that died in that castle, Fate was never kind to a hero, but most especially who does Fate hate even more? The heroes, who are side characters. But what does that take away apart from our facts, they were teenagers who died Men. Men who had been given the chance to stay boys, but choose what Fate wanted.” The narrator takes off a hat and holds it to his chest, standing off to the side as the light illuminates on two coffins, two headstones. Two lovers who died apart.
