
Chapter 1
Emmeline was brimming with excitement. Today was the day she’d been awaiting for ages: the Blood Sirens were finally coming to Vienna. As she stepped out of the metro, the girl looked around for one very special person. And then, finally, she saw her: ‘Emma! I can’t believe you’re actually real and here!’ Right there, next to the queue, stood Emma Vanity, Emmeline’s best friend, who she had met through the band. She sprinted over to the other girl, almost running her over, and attacked her with a bear hug. Enveloped in Emma’s arms, all she could smell was cinnamon and coffee. Her best friend was such a winter person, it was ridiculous. ‘What are you smiling so much about?’ questioned Emma, causing a ripple in her chest. ‘Nothing, I’m just happy to be here with you.’ At that, Emmeline hugged Emma even tighter, not intending to let go of her anytime soon.

Lily was about to hit her head against the wall, repeatedly. Her bloody manager had mixed her practise keys with the ones for performing up, again. She was just about to start ripping out her red curls, when Marlene strolled into the room. They looked at each other, the blonde raised a singular eyebrow, and Lily sighed exasperatedly. ‘I think we should fire Severus. This is getting out of hand; I need to be able to rely on my team.’ Meanwhile, Marlene was barely able to contain her glee. It was an open secret that all of their friends despised the redhead’s childhood friend. ‘If you’re sure about it, we can have him gone by tomorrow.’ she told her friend. Lily, already used to her friend’ s antics, just shook her head. ‘Do what you must, just don’t get caught breaking the law. At that, Marlene skipped out into the hall, calling for the others.
