Chapter 1

King’s Cross Station, always a cacophony of bustling people and hurried farewells, seemed more imposing than ever to the Evans twins. Their hands were tightly intertwined, a quiet comfort amidst the chaos as they searched for Platform 9¾. The moment they spotted a student in Hogwarts robes darting through the barrier, the excitement of what lay ahead hit them like a tidal wave. With a shared glance and quick smiles, they followed their parents, both feeling the flutter of anticipation in their chests.
The sight of hundreds of other children, all on their way to this almost magical reality, was at once exhilarating and overwhelming. Priscilla couldn't help but feel a little dizzy at the thought of joining this new world.
“Oh my gosh, look at you two, my little witches!” their mother squealed, her arms enveloping them in a tight, emotional hug. “It sounds ridiculous to say, but I just know you’ll both be amazing at Hogwarts.”
Lily beamed with excitement, already imagining the adventures that awaited. Priscilla, on the other hand, squeezed her mother’s arms in return but found herself struggling to calm the nervous excitement bubbling within her.
“C’mon, girls, let me snap a picture,” their father called, pulling out a camera and aiming it at them. “Oh, look, there’s Severus! I didn’t realize that boy had gotten in as well.”
Their father waved toward Severus Snape, their neighbor and childhood friend. Lily waved back brightly, while Priscilla offered a polite nod, still more preoccupied with the thoughts racing in her head.
Lily threw her arm around Priscilla’s shoulder, and the two sisters shared a quick, affectionate hug just as the camera clicked, capturing the moment for posterity.
The train was a whirlwind. People rushed in every direction, some laughing, some arguing, and some already deep in conversation with their friends. Priscilla felt as though she and Lily were standing in the middle of a whirlwind of magical energy—so many students seemed perfectly at ease in this world, while they were still finding their footing.
As they walked down the cramped corridor, dodging fellow first-years and trying to avoid collisions, Lily bumped into a boy coming the other way. He wore round glasses, and his face still held the softness of childhood, though there was an earnestness about him that made Priscilla take notice. His glasses were knocked askew, and he flushed a deep red as he quickly steadied himself.
“Oh, Merlin, I’m so sorry! That was terribly rude of me. Are you both first years as well?” the boy stammered, adjusting his glasses, his embarrassment clear.
Lily giggled, helping him straighten up. “Yes, we’re both first years. I’m Lily, and this is my sister, Priscilla.” She smiled brightly, her charm lighting up the space around them.
The boy blinked a moment, his eyes slightly wide as he took in the sisters’ warmth. He seemed momentarily starstruck before he gathered himself and extended a hand. “I’m James Potter. And this,” he gestured to the tall, dark-haired boy standing behind him, “is Sirius Black. We’ve just met as well. Would you like to sit with us in our cabin?”
Priscilla’s eyes briefly flickered to the boy behind James. Sirius Black. He stood with an air of effortless confidence, his gaze cool and observant, a smirk playing on his lips as he ran a hand through his messy black hair. His posture was relaxed, yet it spoke of someone who was used to being noticed—and someone who knew the power of leaving an impression.
James was the first to speak again, his nervousness already melting into excitement. “We’d be honored if you joined us. The cabin’s a bit of a squeeze, but I’m sure we’ll make it work.”
Priscilla hesitated for only a second, her instincts telling her there was something more to this encounter. She glanced at Lily, whose grin hadn’t faltered for a moment. There was no harm in it, she supposed. They were all heading in the same direction.
“Sure,” Priscilla said, offering a polite, though somewhat reserved, smile. “We’d be happy to join you.”
As they made their way toward the cabin, the brief exchange lingered in Priscilla’s mind. There was something about Sirius Black, something she couldn’t quite place. But for now, she pushed the thought aside, focusing on the new adventure unfolding in front of her.
The cabin was cramped but it provided some comfort from the whirlwind outside. Lily and Priscilla sat down opposite James and Sirius. It didn’t take long for James to strike up conversation, his nervous excitement bubbling out in his words.

“So are you two twins?” James asked, curiosity getting the best of him as he adjusted his glasses.

“Indeed we are, though not identical.” Lily said nudging Priscilla, soft giggles erupting from her

“Clearly.” Sirius said, dripping with arrogance. His eyes lingered on Priscillas just long enough to get the scrutiny. “I can see who got the charm and who didn’t”

Their eyes met, a small stalemate between the two. “Well I can see who got the manners and who didn’t between you lot.” her stomach twisted as she shot back at him.

Sirius smirked even wider as he chuckled slightly. “Touche.” he added, leaning back into his seat.

‘Don’t mind him, he's not very used to new people. Um especially those of different backgrounds you know." James chuckled nervously as he tried to clean up his friend's mess.

Priscillas interest peaked. What did he mean by different? She asked herself

“Different how?” She asked, brows furrowing.

Sirius leaned back more, arms crossing smugly across his chest. “I think it's obvious. Your muggle born aren’t you? You both seem like you've never seen a broomstick in your life.”

The words landed like a slap. Lily’s smile faltered, but Priscilla held Sirius’s gaze, her anger simmering beneath the surface. “Well, if ignorance is the hallmark of the wizarding elite, I’d say we’re better off, wouldn’t you?”
For a moment, Sirius said nothing, his expression unreadable. Then he let out a low chuckle. “This one’s got some fire,” he said to James, as if Priscilla weren’t even there.
Outside the cabin, they found some reprieve from the piercing gaze of Sirius Black.

While Lily bought sweets, Priscilla could hear their murmurs.

“What do you think of them?” James asked, his voice immediately recognizable from its warmth and kindness. “Lily is.. She’s amazing isn’t she? I've never met anyone like her.”
Sirius’s reply was low. “She's definitely something.” He answered. He paused before adding. “But her sister though? Not much to write home about, Lily most definitely makes up for them both with charm and looks. Her sister is not pretty enough to make up for the attitude.”

Priscilla froze, her cheeks burning. The anger that was one point just a speck has turned into a simmer pot waiting to boil over. Of course Sirius black would be one to put her in her sister's shadow. His words tasted bitter in her words and she no longer wanted any sweets.

“Don’t be cruel.’ said James, his tone light. “She’s just as pretty and witty. You just don’t like anyone who isn’t fawning over you.”

Sirius laughed, mostly mocking. “Maybe. Or maybe I just don’t like her.”

Once Lily had gotten what she wanted Priscilla grabbed her wrist and spun them around. “Cmon, let's go somewhere else.’

The months that ensued at Hogwarts seemed too good to be true. Magic whirled around at all times. The candles floated by themselves and the food magically appeared. This was a dreamlike fantasy neither Lily or Priscilla had ever imagined could be true.

Although it seemed like a utopia, the social hierarchy of their class was soon established. At the top of this pyramid stood the Marauders, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew.

All Gryffindors, their loud bold personalities taking over any space possible. James, obviously the ring leader, had a certain charm to him. Although his antics were almost as cruel as Sirius, people knew that it was a coverup. His behavior was generally kind but he enabled Sirius like crazy.

Remus Lupin was a quiet man. He stood by as his friends harassed people, never daring to do anything. He obviously didn’t approve but never did anything to stop it. The scars that covered his skin were intimidating to some and attractive to others. But his constant absence for a week each month was concerning.

Lastly, Peter Pettigrew. The small rat-like boy was always clinging to James. He was always laughing along acting like he enjoyed it but his furrowed brows always said otherwise. Too cowardly to do anything.

Priscilla sat underneath a tree enjoying the shade of a nice weekend day. Until Sirius black and his gang approached.
“Doing some light reading Evans?” He teased floating the book out of his hands with his wand.

“You know maybe you could be decent for once and return my book to me. I would be eternally grateful.” Priscilla quipped, her lips tightened into a scowl. The sarcasm was a stealthy coverup for the pure hatred she felt for him.

Putting his wand away before flipping through the book's pages, he said ,”What's the rush, it's not that you haven’t read this entire thing front to back already.” He snickered.

Priscilla stood up brushing her clothes off, “And what do you get out of this huh? Is harassing me and my friends your only source of entertainment in your utterly dull life.” She said annoyance now very clearly in her tone.

James approached putting his hand onto Sirius’s shoulder. “Alright mate, let's not go too far now.”

Sirius ignored brushing his hand off his shoulder before throwing the book onto the ground. “I think you talk about a big game for someone who’s only experienced magic for a few months. Maybe tone down this little attitude you’ve got until you’ve caught up, little Prissy.”

Priscilla flushed, this behavior wasn’t new but the way he used her nickname was infuriating. Little Prissy repeated in her head and she wanted to sew his mouth shut forever for ruining such a sentimental nickname. She locked eyes with him, anger very evident on her face.

“I'll keep that in mind next time you try to impress your little gang by being obnoxious.” She said pointing clearly to the boys standing behind, neutral but not innocent. “Which will probably be in the next 5 seconds.”

Sirius smirk faltered, and for a split second she saw something indescribable on his face, “You’ve got a sharp tongue I’ll give you that.”

“Better than having no substance in mine.” She retorted, bending to grab her book and hurrying off. Her heart beat loudly in her chest as she tried to calm her anger.

One unsuspecting Wednesday during their fourth year, an uproar on the lawn drew a growing crowd. Laughter echoed through the yard, and Lily’s stomach sank. The familiar buzz of the Marauders’ antics was unmistakable.
“Come on,” Lily muttered, her pace quickening. Priscilla followed close behind, her own unease mirroring her sister’s.
When they reached the scene, their hearts dropped. Severus Snape hung suspended in mid-air, his face contorted with humiliation. His trousers were gone, leaving him in nothing but his underwear as he flailed against the magic holding him aloft. James Potter stood at the center, wand raised high, waving Severus up and down like a trophy. The crowd roared with laughter.
Lily’s face flushed red, anger bubbling over like an overfilled cauldron. She stormed forward, wand already drawn. Priscilla followed, her chest aching with the same outrage.
“You are terrible, Potter!” Lily screamed, her voice cutting through the laughter. She disarmed James in one swift motion, his wand clattering to the ground. “And all of you—every single one of you—are despicable!” She glared at the crowd, her voice laced with fury and disappointment.
Priscilla caught Sirius Black’s eye, expecting the same smug grin he always wore in moments like these. Instead, he winked, his smirk firmly in place, reveling in the chaos. It only fueled her anger.
Lily turned to Severus, her expression softening as she extended a hand. “Come on, Sev. Let me help you.”
But Severus slapped her hand away, his face flushing deeper as his black hair fell over his eyes. “Get away from me!” he hissed. Then came the word that landed like a slap to the sisters’ faces. “Mudblood.”
The crowd fell eerily silent, the laughter snuffed out in an instant.
Lily froze, her outstretched hand trembling as the color drained from her face, only to be replaced with a furious red. Priscilla’s chest tightened, betrayal cutting through her like a blade.
“See, Lily-flower, I was just teaching him a lesson,” James said, stepping closer, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. “You don’t need someone like him anyway.”
Priscilla moved before Lily could respond, stepping between her sister and James. Her glare was icy, her voice low but scathing. “You’ve done enough, Potter. Leave her alone. In fact, leave everyone alone.” She leaned closer, her words sharp enough to sting. “Your little act won’t last forever.”
Gripping Lily’s arm, she led her sister away from the stunned crowd. The noise began to swell again behind them, but Priscilla’s focus was on Lily, whose tears shimmered but didn’t fall.
As they walked away, Priscilla glanced over her shoulder. Her eyes locked on Sirius again, but this time, the smirk was gone. His expression was different now—raw, unguarded. His gray eyes held something she hadn’t seen before: guilt. For a moment, she thought he might say something, but he looked away, jaw tightening as he turned back to the scene.
