Chapter 3
Effie made her way into the green and blue room, a room she had years ago set up for Regulus in hopes that he’d come to her, a room that she has now given to his daughter. Early morning sunlight finding its way through the blue to green fade curtains, shining light on to the bed where curly raven hair was fanned over the dark green pillow.
She quietly made her way over to the bed, sitting next to the sleeping girl and placing her hand on her shoulder, “Stella dear it’s time to get up” Effie told her gently shaking the small girl.
Stella shoots up eyes wide franticly looking for her glasses which Effie hands to her, Stella takes a few minutes to look around as if not entirely sure where she is until she meets Effie’s eyes, only then does she calm down, it’s as if last night’s events had only just registered. Effie takes this moment to look at her like really look at her. Little Stella had beautiful eyes while at first glance they look just gray but really, they’re almost silver with the slightest bit of gold in the center, then her curly jet black hair was left long still holding a bit of wave from the braid it was woven into the day before but also messy in a way only a Potter’s hair could be, it was clear she’d need help doing her hair today.
“Stella dear it’s time for breakfast” Effie told her gently, chuckling when Stella huffed and flopped back down on her pillow, “I just thought you might want to say goodbye to Harry, his mum is coming by to pick him up.”
Effie’s smile widening into the blinding grin James has become well known for when Stella pushes herself up and gets out of bed, finding some red slippers under the bed and wrapping herself in a quilt having it cover her head like a hood.
Once they made it downstairs (which took longer than it should have due to a grumpy Stella) Effie started plating up some food, she’d made a good hearty breakfast scrambled eggs with lots of cheese, peppers and onions, a stack of breakfast sausage, a mound of golden pancakes, and some hot chocolate for Harry and Stella.
Everyone was gathered at the table James and Sirius joking around and riling each other up trying to see who can eat the most sausages (despite the fact that they are 25 and should act like adults and not teenagers), Harry of course trying to eat as many pancakes as he can before Effie cuts him off, Monty sitting at the head of the table enjoying his breakfast and watching them all fondly sipping his tea. While Effie fusses over Stella urging her to eat more while also eating her breakfast.
