baking
Euphemia Potter loved cooking and baking. It was one of her favorite things in the whole world. Fleamont would help her sometimes, but he was quicker to eat the food in process than actually being of any help. Effie seemed to pass her kitchen skills to James. He’d love helping Effie around the kitchen, sneaking tastes of food like his father but still helping greatly, washing dishes and preparing dishes like a professional chef. Cooking and baking for others quickly became his love language. He’d often spoil his friends with traditional Indian dishes (courtesy of Effie’s culture), and classic Latin meals (Monty’s influence). So when he met Regulus, who spent his whole life around aristocratic French and proper formal dishes, he knew he had to fix it.
On their very first date, James spent 3 hours cooking a 5 course meal for Regulus, having Regulus watch and keep him company, chatting him up merrily. Regulus, of course, adored this, beaming at every word and opening his mouth pliantly as James held tasting spoons up to his lips, humming appreciatively as the rich flavors spread across his tongue.
They really were perfect for each other.
