Chapter 2
Remus slowly got out of the car, he turned back so he could gray his cane. "Are you sure you will be okay?" Lily asked him, he shrugged and went to grab his backpack but Sirius did before he could. "I'm coming with you" he said before he exited the car. Remus hated people seeing him struggle. He wanted to tell him no but he couldn't. It felt like it was the wrong thing to do, and Sirius looked like he wouldn't accept that answer. Remus limped to his apartment, he got his key out of his pocket and quickly unlocked the door. He tossed the key on the table and sat on his sofa not bothering to take his jacket and shoes off. He didn't look to check where Sirius was, he felt exhausted. He was still sweaty and his hair felt gross but there was nothing he could do about it in that state. "You should go in your bed" Sirius suggested but Remus shook his head. "Moony you look like you're gonna fall asleep" he shrugged and lied back on the sofa. Sirius walked in front of Remus and kneeled down, he untied his shoes and placed them on the side. "Can I take your jacket off?" Remus nodded, he forced himself to sit up so Sirius could do it. Once the jacket was off Remus lay completely on the sofa and fell asleep.
He woke up an hour after to a good smell, Sirius seeing him awake walked towards him with a bowl in his hand. "I made you soup, I er- didn't know what you wanted but.. it's easy to eat. I can make something else if you don't like it" he spoke quickly, Remus smiled, he felt amazing. He didn't know what it was, if it was because Sirius looked hot here or the fact that he realised soup is easy to eat. He was glad Sirius stayed with him, he always felt alone when he was exhausted. "Thank you.." he whispered and grabbed the soup, he drank it slowly. It was nice and warm, it reminded him of the time his mum made him soup when he was sick as a kid. He placed the bowl on the table once it was empty. "How are you feeling?" Sirius asked as he sat next to Remus. "Tired" Remus lied against Sirius, something he would have never done if he was more awake. "And my hair feels gross" he added. Sirius placed an arm around him, they were quiet for a bit but it didn't feel awkward. It made Remus feel calm. "Do you want me to help?" He asked, Remus looked confused, he didn't know how he could help. "I could wash your hair..?" Sirius said, his usual energy and loudness wasn't there, instead he was quiet and gentle, a bit scared too. Remus thought about it, he knew he wouldn't be able to do it himself. After a minute he nodded shyly and Sirius seemed relieved. He got up from the sofa, Remus started getting up but Sirius caught him and carried him towards his bathroom. "You're strong" was the only thing Remus thought to say. Sirius smiled and placed him on the floor next to the bath so he could wash his hair without putting water everywhere. Remus moved so he could be comfortable and put his head back. He heard Sirius turn on the water, he moved it so it could be on the side of Remus' head. "Is the temperature okay?" Remus nodded and Sirius began wetting his hair. He then carefully applied shampoo and massaged his head. It felt good and despite how bad he felt Remus couldn't help but smile at how domestic it felt. They were only friends but Remus felt the most comfortable with him.
