Chapter 2
In the dark of night, Tom snuck to the back of the house after watching the family go upstairs to sleep. He waited awhile to make sure they were asleep, and once he heard the loud snoring he could assume was from the big man, he started picking the back door lock.
He finally got the door unlocked and opened it into the kitchen. It was spotless, and as he moved from the kitchen to the living room, he could see tons of pictures of the fat little boy he had seen earlier in the day. There were pictures of him as a baby, at different fun places, at his birthdays with tons of presents, and lots of him playing with toys. Tom decided this would be the perfect place to steal from since it looked like the parents spoiled their child so they probably had lots of stuff he could take and resell.
He walks through the rest of the downstairs to see if there is anything else but there is only a cupboard under the stairs that has locks on it. He figures it probably has something special in it. They kept it locked up so tight, but he didn't bring the right stuff to break into it. He would bring the right stuff next time. Tom went back into the kitchen and took some nice-looking silverware and some other little things he assumed they wouldn't miss and left.
Harry heard a clatter a little after he was locked into his cupboard for the night. He heard them walking through the downstairs and past his cupboard stopping to fiddle with the locks before moving along. Harry sat terrified in the furthest corner from the door. The Dursleys had talked about crazy people coming and taking him when they thought he couldn't listen. After a few more chatters he heard the person leave and close the back door.
