They walk back to the common room together
And when they walk in side by side Draco gets up and storms out.
Mattheo- " Damn"
She can't help but get emotional,
He is her brother they used to be close but the rift just keeps growing,
And now he can't even be in the same room seriously.
The guys go over to ask how her lessons went,
but see a tear and panic
Mattheo- " Tom what did you do"
Tom- "What"
Theo- "She is crying”
Tom- " What, she was smiling just a minute ago"
Mattheo- "What's wrong what did Tom do"
Meeri- " Tom was great, it's Draco, I just cry easily, don't mind it really"
Theo- " Why don't you guys get along"
Merri- "It, umm, well, he, he wants to remain blind to something I can't"
She walks off and goes to her room,
She was so happy with Tom.
Draco why can't he just see what's really there,
Why is he being so obtuse?
She misses dinner, which concerns the guys.
She always eats a lot so her missing a meal is a big red flag.
After dinner, Mattheo and Theo go and knock on her door.
Oh, they won't go away will they, okay fine.
She throws on a jacket to cover her arms and gets to the door.
Mattheo- " Hey you okay you missed dinner"
Meeri- " My stomach is in knots I couldn't eat"
Theo- " Dont let Draco bother you so much okay, he can be a dramatic bitch sometimes"
Meeri-" I know I'm just too sensitive"
Mattheo- " Just rest see you tomorrow"
Meeri- " Night guys"
Mattheo, Theo- " Night"
She is not just sensitive, she is traumatized
And Draco storming off all pissy triggered too many memories.
She can't help but fall apart a bit as her CPTSD torments her.
The flashbacks and pain become too much so she gets her blades,
No matter what happens in this life her blades will always be there for her when everyone else leaves.
At breakfast, Tom notices something different seems off about her,
She is less nervous but something else has replaced it
A numb, vacant look in her eyes.
All the boys note how she does not eat very much
Or with her usually frenzied energy.
She even leaves the table early,
But the boys take this as a chance to talk to Draco,
Try and get some info
Mattheo- " Draco what is the deal why can't you get along with her, she seems real nice"
Draco- "We are at an impasse and she is wrong"
Theo- " Come on give us something"
Draco- (silence)
Tom- " Okay then can you tell us why she's always scared, on edge, and nervous?"
Draco- " Oh she has always been like that"
The guys don't learn anything as to why they don't get along,
But they do learn Draco is fucking oblivious.
People aren't just always nervous and scared cause it is a personality quirk,
It has to stem from something
, it's something Draco is oblivious to.
In Poitions class when Severus does an example,
it realeses a boom she gets startled.
Severus calls her to stay after class, Tom wishes he could stay and listen in but he has an exam to get to.
Something is off with her today and it's quite noticeable.
That afternoon they have their lessons together,
He shows up and sees her sitting under a tree looking lost in thought.
She gets up and gets into position when she sees him.
She doesn't even talk.
The spells coming at him and strong, stronger than she's done before.
He feels the raw power just coming at him
And has to put up his strong shields to keep himself safe.
Something is very different from her, she's not her typical nervous self,
or her composed focused self, she seems a bit unhinged.
Once they are done he walks over to her hoping some praise will make her smile,
but he sees tears streaming down her face heavily. Oh no, she's been crying this whole time. He doesn't know what to do,
Comforting others isn't a skill he has and words are failing him.
He grabs her chin and wipes her face with his handkerchief,
trying to be gentle but this is very out of his wheelhouse and causes him a bit of panic.
Tom- " Meriabell”
Meeri- “ Dont call me that, call me Meeri"
Tom- " Okay Meeri come with me"
He takes her arm and leads her to a bench and they sit.
He hands her his handkerchief
Tom- " Blow your nose"
Meeri- " This is cloth ill mess it"
Tom- " I have a spell for that, blow your nose"
So she blows her nose and Tom does a spell that cleans the cloth again and again as she uses it. It's all he can offer her.
She doesn't mind the silence thought, it's much better than being pestered with questions she can barely answer.
So just having him here is just what he needs, it lets her know she's not alone but doesn't pester her.
Eventually, she gets it together, hands back the handkerchief, and stands facing him.
Meeri- " Thank you, Tom”
Tom- " I apologize I don't have a skill set for this”
Meeri- " No no this was perfect, really thank you.”
Tom- " Are you ready to head back"
Meeri- " Yeah"
They head back to the common room together,
It's just Mattheo and Theo in there.
They both panic when they see her tear-stained face and red-rimmed eyes. They rush to her.
Theo- " Why do you always bring her back crying dude, what kinda lessons are you giving her"
Meeri- " He didn't do anything wrong, lay off him”
Mattheo- " Oh okay then, why the tears?"
Tom- " Let her be, go rest”
She nods to Tom and walks off,
it's nice, him standing up for her.
Tom now understood why she thanked him,
she preferred the silence to all the getting in-her-face questions.
Oh, she told them off for me interesting.
She needs silence and rest,
They can pester her when she's more put together later.
At dinner, he was glad to see that she seemed more herself
even if that means scared and anxious.
The guys ask again if she's okay and she just tells them a release of emotion is good every once in a while.
