How do I ask him?
“Why don’t you just ask him out?” James asked Sirius one night. Peter was already asleep and Remus was at the library, studying with Lily. “Cause what if he rejectes me?” Sirius answered. James sighed “You’ve been on so many dates with so many girls. How difficult could it be?” Sirius sighed too “This is different, Remus is different. Remus isn’t like those girls, he doesn’t date because he just wants a relationship. He only dates for love, real love.” It was true, Remus had never dated anyone yet. He is waiting for his true love.
James shook his head. “I know mate, but don’t you want to date him for real love too?” Sirius was quiet for a moment, he hadn’t thought about it like that. “Yes, I do want it like that.”
"Well then just ask him out.”
“No”
“I swear Sirius”
“I can’t just ask him out like that.”
“Then use your brain and come up with something.”
“Okay”
“Great, now go to your own bed and sleep.” James was getting tired, it was already late after all
“But-“
“No, go to sleep, I’m tired. We can talk again tomorrow.”
Sirius sighed and went to his own bed. He fell asleep quicker than he thought he would. He was tired.

The next day, all Sirius could think about was; how could he ask Remus out in a good way. Something Remus loved. This was harder to come up with than Sirius expected. He wanted to do that Remus liked. Remus likes reading, no Sirius doesn’t know what he likes to read. Remus likes chocolate, yes. Sirius could ask him out with a box of chocolates, but that’s too basic. This is very difficult. Why can Sirius only find ways to ask a girl out, but not Remus. Remus deserves the best. Something that’ll blow his mind, but it’s hard to blow Remus’s mind.

Later that night, Sirius was laying in bed next to James again. He was holding back tears.
“Why is it so difficult. How did I manage to fall in love with him. I barely even know how real love like that works.”
James was trying to comfort him. “It’s okay mate, you don’t have to figure it out right now.” That comforts Sirius. James is good at comforting people.
