Silent Bonds
Summary
I wrote this pretty much a whole year ago and posted on Wattpad (using the same title)It sucked less than I remember so I thought, why not? This was originally supposed to be a multi-chapter fic but I have changed writing styles and Lowkey forgot the story I was following so,,,yeah. It's basically the Chapter: Malfoy Manor from HP 7 in Luna's POVTHIS CONTAINS SPOILERS TO HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWSkinda.

It would be quite lonely, Luna figured, sitting in the darkness of the cell, if Mr. Ollivander were not here.

Luna was a young girl of 16. She had long dirty blonde hair that would reach her waist if she hadn't tied it into a pony tail. She wore purple overalls and a pink shirt. She was very dirty, though it was difficult to tell in the dark.

Mr. Ollivander was a rather old and withered man. It was clear he hadn't seen the sun in many months. He was a thin man before, but now his cheekbones were much more prominent and his hands shook violently whenever he tried to hold anything. He wore a very dirty shirt which he supposed must have been green at some point, but the shirt had since been coated in dirt, dust, and blood. His trousers were torn at the bottom and he was missing his left shoe.

Luna and Mr. Ollivander were both locked in the dark and dreary cell down in the basement of a building called "Malfoy Manor". This was where the Malfoys, a very prominent family in the world of Magic, lived. Both Luna and Mr. Ollivander had been there for a long time, though Ollivander had been there much longer. The cell was very dark and very cold, but the prisoners found they could bear it if they stayed close together.

It was much worse when they were alone.

Despite their unfortunate situation, Luna and Mr. Ollivander still found solace in the fact that they had each other. Mr. Ollivander was a kind man, and he took care of Luna and calmed her when upset. Luna was an odd young girl, but she helped Mr. Ollivander when he was too sick or too weak to move.

Sometimes they were taken away. Mr. Ollivander would awaken to screams and find Luna missing. She would be dragged back down some time later, bruised and battered and covered in blood. Mr. Ollivander himself would sometimes be taken and forced to face He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. This was very upsetting to Mr. Ollivander, and he would do what he could to please the dark man.

One day, after Mr. Ollivander had been taken away and Luna was forced to bear the cold and the dark alone, someone came to join her. He was a thin, pale boy, who was little more than a year older than her. She knew who he was. She had heard his name yelled many times, closely followed by the sound of a slap to the face.

Luna Lovegood stared at Draco Malfoy.

He was looking at her through the small window in the heavy door by the stairs. Luna knew his face well, she had seen it many a time as she passed him in the corridors at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There were signs of a bruise remaining on his cheek, a poor attempt at concealing it with makeup.

She waited for him to say something. He didn't, he just stood there and watched her through the door.

"Wrackspurts?" Luna asked him. Her voice cracked and it sounded unfamiliar to her. She had not conversed with anything louder than a whisper for many months. Draco started and his expression shifted to confusion.

"Sorry?" He spluttered.

"I was asking if you were plagued by wrackspurts," Luna said. "They're these invisible creatures that fly into your ears and make your brain go all fuzzy. You have a distant look on your face so I thought-"

"No." Draco cut her off. "I'm not." They sat in silence for several minutes. Draco sighed.

He opened his mouth as if to speak when a sharp voice from somewhere along the long curving staircase barked "Draco!". Draco flinched and turned away from the door, away from Luna.

The sound of footsteps echoed on the staircase. The footsteps were awkward, so Luna could tell that someone was dragging Mr. Ollivander back downstairs. Luna watched Draco stiffen. He was jerked from her view and there were sounds of a heavy lock clicking. The door swung open, creaking as it moved, to reveal a very tall man who looked very much like Draco.

He was older, perhaps middle-aged. He had long, shiny hair that was the same color as Draco's. He held a stance that was once commanding, but had been dwindled by the presence of someone much more powerful than he.

"What are you doing down here, Draco?" Lucius Malfoy asked his son, shoving Mr. Ollivander roughly into the cell.

"I.. thought I heard a noise," Draco lied. "I came to investigate."

Lucius Malfoy's eyes flicked towards Luna. She stared back, careful to keep her face blank. "You," He hissed, pointing at Luna. "Come here, girl."

Luna rose shakily to her feet. She walked carefully towards the man and she felt someone grab her hand. She looked back at Mr. Ollivander, who was looking at her imploringly. She gave him a sad smile, a squeeze of the hand, and let go. She walked towards Mr. Malfoy and looked up at him.

"What have you been told about noise?" He demanded, seizing her arm and pulling her close.

Luna knew her eyes went wide and her face went white. She could feel it.

"To k-keep it down," She stammered. "Sir." She added quickly.

Mr. Malfoy released her arm. She stood there, looking at him, fear flooding her mind. Lucius Malfoy raised his arm and struck her across the face. Luna cried out and stumbled back. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Draco flinch.

"Do as you're told," Malfoy said. He pulled the heavy door shut and Luna heard the lock click. He turned towards the stairs. "Come, Draco." His cloak flowed behind him as he walked up the stairs in long, powerful strides. Draco followed him, looking back over his shoulder, through the tiny window.

Luna looked at the floor.
