Chapter 5 - Old Friends
Abandon Warehouse, Rio De Janeiro
A man walked through the warehouse, carrying a duffle bag when a car pulled up playing loud music. Another man stepped out of the car with a face of playful annoyance.
"Oh Hell nah," He closed his car door. "I see they really scraped the bottom of the barrel, huh?" he started walking closer as the other man did the same.
"I guess they did since yo ass is here." the two stared at each other for a good second before the short silence was broken. "When you gon give Marther Luther King his car back?" the first one asked, nodding towards the car the other man got out of.
"Soon as you give Rick James his jacket back." they just looked at one another before they both cracked a smile and hugged. Before any more words could be said, the sound of a motorcycle interrupted.
They both turned to look as the bike was parked and a woman swung her leg over and off the bike before taking off her helmet. They made their way over to the woman, looking her up and down.
"Hmm, Sexy legs, baby girl," the first one said, trying to shoot his shoot. "What time do they open?" he smiled as he leaned forward, a smile on his face, which was quickly wiped off as the woman turned, pulled out a gun, and aimed for his neck.
"They open the same time I pull this trigger." She gave a small smile. "Want me to open them?"
Before the man could reply, two more men walked speaking in Spanish. They made it pretty clear they were making fun of the man trying to shoot his shot.
"Yeah anybody can talk shit in Spanish, homie," The man said as the other two dropped their duffle bags at their feet.
"Feo es feo en español o inglés" one said as he looked at the man.
They started bricking when the first man looked at the man next to him. "Who are these clowns man?" he took a step back to let the other man step in front of him.
The four were so into bricking they didn't notice another man come up and stop next to the woman from before. "I thought cockfights were illegal in Brazil," he smirked before offering her some of his chips.
Everybody was shut up by the sound of a new voice. "I see you've all met." they all turned to find Dom, followed by Brian and Mia.
"you know when you called me to come to Rio," the woman made her way over to Dom as everyone made their way to the other two. "I assumed it would be for something more exciting than this." She smiled and they hugged.
Everybody was hugging and talking to each other when Brian introduced two of the men to Dom. "Yo, check this out." He tapped Dom's shoulder and pointed at the man. "This is Tej. Best circuit man on the East Coast." Dom and Tej shook hands as Brian introduced him to the second man.
"And this is my boy, Roman Pearce." He pointed towards Roman. "We go way back, I met this guy in juvie." Dom nodded. "I pulled that job with him in Miami."
Dom looked Roman over once before nodding again. "I've heard bout you." before Roman could reply, Han walked up to talk to Dom.
"Nice digs." He said with a small smirk as he looked around. Dom gave him a small smirk of his own. "Yeah, well, the Ritz was sold out." Han gave him a light chuckle before replying. "So what's this all about, Dom?"
"Yeah, man, why did you drag us halfway around the world?" Tej asked as everyone gathered around waiting for the answer.
"Cause we got a job."
They were all gathered around a table talking over their plans, just as everyone agreed to go along with the plan when the sound of a car pulling up brought them out of their planning. The passenger door opened and out stepped a woman around their age, dressed in all black with long black hair and black eyes that one could drown in.
She grabbed her bag from the back of the car and watched as the car drove off before she turned around to look at them.
Mia squealed as soon as she saw the woman, she pushed Roman out of the way and ran over to the woman, throwing her arms around her neck and giving her a big hug. "I knew you would come!" she pulled back to get a good view of the woman in front of her. "I freaking knew it."
The others just watched the scene before them, before Roman stepped up. "Okay, now who are you?" he looked her up and down. "Other than fine." He smiled and chuckled at his own pick-up line, but he didn't get a full minute before Brian reached over and smacked the back of his head.
"Ow! What was that for?" Roman protested, rubbing the spot where Brian's hand had made contact.
Brian shook his head, a wry grin playing on his lips. "Show some respect, man. We don't even know who she is yet."
The woman raised an eyebrow, a smirk dancing on her lips. "Oh, I think I can handle a little flirting," she said, her voice smooth as silk. "The name's Severa, Severa Snape."
Roman and Tej glanced at each other before they made their way over to her, followed by the rest of the team, minus Dom. Tej held out his hand. "I'm Tej, but you can call me yo-" He didn't get the chance to finish as he was shoved out of the way by Dom.
He started at her for a good second before he spoke up. "Sev..?" his voice was barely above a whisper, his eyes shined with hints of hope. She let go of Mia and took a small step forward, looking him up and down.
"You sure as hell look different than the last time I saw you." She gave him a small, watery smile before he swooped her up into a hug.
As Severa embraced Dom, memories flooded back for both of them. Dom couldn't believe she was here, standing in front of him after all this time. Severa's presence brought a sense of familiarity, but also a wave of emotions he hadn't felt in years.
The rest of the team looked on, sensing the significance of this reunion. Mia's excitement was palpable, her eyes wide with joy as she watched her and her brother's childhood friend reconnect with him. Han and Brian exchanged knowing glances, understanding the weight of the moment.
After a moment of silence, Dom finally spoke, his voice filled with emotion. "Sev... I never thought I'd see you again. What brings you here?"
Severa pulled back slightly, meeting Dom's gaze. "I was on a girl's trip with friends," she said, her tone soft. "When I bumped into Mia."
Severa's words hung in the air, mingling with the emotions swirling between them. Dom couldn't help but smile, despite the gravity of their reunion. Fate had a funny way of bringing people together, and he couldn't shake the feeling that Severa's unexpected appearance was meant to be.
Mia beamed at the mention of their chance encounter, her eyes shining with excitement. It was as if destiny had intervened to reunite her brother and his childhood friend.
As the rest of the team listened intently, Han stepped forward, his expression thoughtful. "Well, as much I hate to ruin this cute moment," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of amusement. "Would someone tell us how you know Dom and Mia?" The rest of the team nodded, all wanting to know.
Dom glanced down at the woman in his arms and then at Mia, who was holding onto one of Severa's hands before he looked back at the team.
"let's just say....she's Family."
